Guys, our M3 having long bonnet/ front overhang hence making tight spot maneuvering a little tricky.

if lets say we are driving into parking (head in) , would SCBS kick in when we are a little too near to the wall or car beside??
*
if i'm not mistaken, it wont activate if your steering is has turned more than certain angle, same goes to i-stop, SCBS operation speed is 4-30km/h

if let's say you were to drive 4km/h and going to bang a pillar, there are chances that it will activate and stop the car inch before collision

but SCBS doesn't work well with non reflective surface like concrete pillars in parking and pedestrian

Hmm not reflective surface. Would a old junky rusty car infront of you during jam consider non reflective or? Haha

SCBS will not help you when parking. Your speed when you go into a parking spot will be below 4 km/h.

hmm but the system does need to tap battery power right? wiring direct to battery and ground? or just plug into +12V ciggy?
*
Power for standalone systems are usually tapped from the fuse box.

or a more appropriate way to say this is metallic materials? some people tested with big cardboard and it doesn't work, if they put aluminium sheet on the cardboard then it works

Can get RM3K-4K discount for 2016 car so I don't think RM6K for 2015 car is worth it.

According to Pauline Tan soul red will be available next year at additional cost.

Got my car in early June and yesterday I just did the 2nd service (10,000km) at Mazda PJ federal highway.

Opted for fully synthetic oil this time just to test the difference. Paid ~RM140. Noticeable difference in transmission when speeding up -- smoother gear transition compared to semi-synthetic.

Overall I'm happy with the SC. Friendly staff and both times I went there (for 1st and 2nd service) I was attended by Arun. Not sure if it's worth mentioning but they always give me the extra engine oil.

Guys any of you did coating @ sierra glow USJ before?

I am very interested to do the coating for my M3. Is the SierraGlow recommended? whats the price like for the regular and blue flame?
*
I did my coating at SG USJ, almost 2 months now and my car still shiny and the surface still quite smooth, definitely not as smooth as the first time but still good.

I do regular wash at home and sometime send to the shop that uses 3M to wash on a weekly basis maximum 2 weeks.

Price wise..hmm PM me haha I can give you contact to their PIC as well, pretty nice uncle.. haha kinda grumpy but he will explain to you everything you need to know about the tech that they are using. I'll definitely go back there again with my GF's car.

Cheers.

I don't like that uncle attitude, but I will go back just for the after sales service and cheaper price

Too bad I don't have a second car so hopefully no need to go back there anymore

my top speed on my m3 CKD is 193 km/h GPS speed, no performance mod, some owner gone even higher to 220km/h, i think the speed cut should be 220km/h, where you get the top speed of 180km/h? the brochure?

If I may ask, is this the first time that you drive at high speed or rpm? Burning smell is normal at high speed or rpm in the beginning...it'll go away once your car is used to it. Nothing to worry about, based on my experience.

As for your top speed, have you floored the pedal until the end? One thing I realise is that once you've floored the pedal, you can actually floor it even further (requires extra push). You can feel the "click" of the pedal. You can try this when the engine is off to see what I mean. I personally have hit 205km/h and it's still not the top speed yet.

Would love to know the experience of other drivers on these matters too smile.gif

Hi thanks guys for reply me.
Yup, yesterday I was come back from KL to Penang. I try performance on highway. Yes, this is first time driving high speed and high RPM on this new car, it just done 1st services last week also. You mean "clicks" on pedal there I really dint noticed. Maybe will try later.
Maybe you said is true because is 1st time got like burning smell when high RPM.

One more thing, how to view speedometer on our touch screen there? Need to set anything or?

and the computer problem is for diesel engine which is not available for m3 in malaysia (yet)
