Hi, Just booked a Mazda 3 GL Specs. MY SA told me that tinting in somewhere else might void the warranty, how true is that?

Being offered a 800 ringgit rebate for tinting regardless on brand selected( Mazda Vendor)
Btw I'm purchased direct from Bermaz Auto
*
If tinting outside will void warranty I think 90% of owners have forfeited their warranty already. Compare prices outside without voucher and see if it is worth it. Some shops will give you list price with voucher which is more expensive than without voucher.

Wanna to ask if the additional RM 15K worth every penny to buy the Hi Spec instead of Mid spec M3 and why?
*
Worthwhile features - HID headlights, auto cruise, smart city brake, blind spot monitoring, adaptive headlights, keyless entry, auto dimming mirror

Not so important - auto wiper, auto headlights on, auto climate control, auto high beam control, power adjustable seats, lane departure warning, DRL, LED tail lights, better looking control knobs, navigation, paddle shifts

Driver preference - 18" rims and Toyo performance tyres instead of 16" rims and Toyo tyres.

Common features - leather seats, 6 airbags, reverse camera, bluetooth telephony, infotainment display, push start, ABS, EDB, BA, DSC

Well, you decide whether it is worth RM15K or not.

My personal view:

Hi guys, previously i posted about getting a 18 months old cbu m3.

I would like to a full inspection of the car before sending it for puspakom.

Anyone has any recommendation sc / mazda specialist that can do a good job for a resonable fee? Thx!

( it is still under free service, can always go back there as well )
*
Ask to see all his service records including the service booklet and invoices to see what has been done. If there are no major repairs should be OK.

I'm not sure whether you can go to the Mazda SC where he does his service and ask them for the full record but it's worth a try.

18 months is very soon to sell a car. What is is reason for selling?

Many expats lost their jobs selling their new car due to the the oil market. i did call up mazda and everything is up to date. For me i Would prefer a full inspection prior to puspakom to avoid any issue that wasnt brought up previously

There is car inspection service available from Goo Kantei

Guys, our M3 having long bonnet/ front overhang hence making tight spot maneuvering a little tricky.

if lets say we are driving into parking (head in) , would SCBS kick in when we are a little too near to the wall or car beside??
*
SCBS will not help you when parking. Your speed when you go into a parking spot will be below 4 km/h.

QUOTE(Monkey King @ Sep 5 2016, 10:13 PM)
hmm but the system does need to tap battery power right? wiring direct to battery and ground? or just plug into +12V ciggy?
*
Power for standalone systems are usually tapped from the fuse box.

guys, SA quote me rebate 6k for HS 2015. is it worth it? prob is, not my preferable color. its a blue reflex  sweat.gif

btw, is it true next year will got  soul red color already?
*
Can get RM3K-4K discount for 2016 car so I don't think RM6K for 2015 car is worth it.

According to Pauline Tan soul red will be available next year at additional cost.

There may be some 2015 Mazda 3 left. If GL should be below 100K. Ask around.

Test drove 3 of them today. Jetta feels more responsive and more powerful maybe due to dsg? But interior so dull and old.
Civic also quite powerful and interior looks ok to me. Like the instrument cluster though.
Mazda 3 looks more premium and luxurious inside, at least for me. Power wise of course lose all the above but not too bad too and pretty responsive. Just the gearbox feels abit slow, maybe the feeling of  after test drove the jetta LOL
However, jetta feels more solid, can definitely feel the door harder and heavier. Mazda 3 not too far behind in this department. Civic feels more like milo tin. Too light

Read from paultan that Mazda will bring the facelift Mazda 3 next year? Should i wait?
*
Next year all Mazda cars will go up in price. The facelift Mazda 3 only adds torque vectoring control to help you corner better and nothing much else. I would get it now before the price increase.

Civic X has poor built quality with lots of issues. You can compare the Civic 10th Gen thread with Mazda 3 thread. One is full of complaints the other is peaceful. You also need to visit SC more with Civic as they have decoupled oil change from 10K service so you may need to go twice.

Jetta should have plenty of discount if you wait but maintenance is a worry. It should be the most powerful of the 3 cars. Second hand value is 'meh' so it's worth considering only if you can buy it much cheaper than a Mazda 3 HS.

Check Engine light on can be many possible problems. Don't try to diagnose the problem yourself, it's like shooting in the dark. Take your car to Mazda SC where they can plug in a computer and identify the problem. As your car is out of warranty it's up to you whether you want them to repair or take it outside.

On top of this, I service my car at Mazda OKR near Saville, I sent my car for 10k millleage at 9am, they confirm car complete at 12.30pm. Takes a realllly long duration though.. I need to use grab go back home and forth. RM20 flying.

They told me they will call once done . But they didn't . I go there at 12.45pm. Only they confirm it is done which is when I asked. LOL
*
Did you make an appointment? It should not take like 3.5 hours to service if you made an appointment. If you are not getting acceptable service from one SC change to another one.

Is this 'Lane Departure Warning' and 'Lane Keeping Assist' really important? If you don't intend to fall asleep at the wheel why do you need them?

Actually lucifal...i know you are a sales guy making an honest living...

However your persistence silence on M3 issues just turns me off:
1. Lower Arm Bush
2. Bump stopper
3. O2 sensor
4. Battery replacement

*
1. Lower Arm Bush
If you are bothered about the noise which only only happens when going over a speed bump in wet weather the SC will change for you.

2. Bump stopper
This is the cure if your Mazda 3 has a sound when going over speed bumps in dry weather. Does not affect all Mazda 3 cars.

3. O2 sensor
Never heard of this problem before for the Skyactiv engine.

4. Battery replacement
Batteries are consumable items. It may be true that the i-stop may shorten the life of the battery but mine lasted about 14 months which is quite decent. Mazda will replace for free if it dies within 1 year/20,000km.

These items you mentioned are not deal breakers. Considering how many problems Ciivic owners are having with poor quality CKD I think Mazda owners should consider themselves lucky. If you are looking for a perfect car, keep looking.

Stop thinking about lemon cars. You may get what you are trying to avoid because your mind is so focused on it. laugh.gif

Anyway, nobody in this forum got a lemon car so I don't think you will be the first.

Honda Civic thread even more problems. Mazda 3 thread not so many problems, just some minor suspension sounds which is known and can be fixed.
