Not sure what's wrong but my ethernet lan speed is @ 100Mbps blink.gif

I thought it should be at 1000Mbps

Should not be.

Mine is 1GBps full duplex.

Maybe the problem could be an old Cat5 LAN cable used. It should be Cat5E or Cat6.

Aha! Then maybe your Unifi modem has only Fast Ethernet (100Mbps) LAN ports. Could be old model.

My Unifi modem is a Huawei HG8240w with gigabit LAN ports. smile.gif

If you're using HG850a, then it's 100base... only HG8240 and above come with 1000base

LOL... I also went to get one unit yesterday, after reading all the positive comments here. Mind you, I have the RT-AC68U now (bought from Japan). Just wanted to test the coverage as there are still some blind spots for my house, and then I might gift it to my best friend as a house-warming gift... smile.gif

The funny thing was, when I was holding one, one of the Sri Computer staff commented, "Another buyer? Why suddenly so many people buy one???" I guessed that he is not clued-in into this model's pricing/spec awesomeness.

But for those still asking about the stock availability, from my rough estimate, there are at least 50 units still available...

The sudden buying frenzy must have amused the sales staff there. laugh.gif

LMAO They have no idea about the thread in LYN forum. Sudden influx of ppl buying this router that is not popular at all at their original price. Anyway you can use multiple of this as wireless extender provided you flashed it to third party firmware. That is more cost effective than those powerline crap.

Reseller? Doubt so, unless there is already buyers. Most likely people buying multiple units as as cheap ap and helping friends to buy. I won't be tempted to buy multiple units if the price is 300+, maybe only 1. At 350+ I won't even recommend this to non technical users. I personally helped my friends buy 3 units, probably have to get a couple more.

This is not the first time I see dual band routers or NAS get sold at half price. Usually due to distributor stop distributing the product or product discontinued.

Anyone can confirm this router supports Maxis Home Fibre out of the box?

What are the configuration?

Thanks.

So far after using it for 1/2 day, I can't really tell how much faster this router is compared to the D-Link DIR-615. Internet surfing speed did not really feel a lot faster. unsure.gif

The only thing I can actually feel a difference is the coverage.
I now have wifi signals at the downstairs back of my house.
The router is placed at my upstairs living hall.

Maybe the experts here can teach me how to test the speed difference?

Still available? I bought 1 unit yesterday before seeing this thread. I was quite surprised with the spec and price.

I'm planning to get another 2 units my parents and parent in law house, and hopefully they're still available by the end of today.

Are you still having problem flashing?

I've finally managed to flash the router. The trick is to use IE instead of chrome when you first uploading the modified CFE file. When I did with chrome, after clicking submit, it right away turned into can't find network error.

Then after several failures, I used IE and after click submit, it went into another page saying upload is successfull and it's rebooting.

Once it's reboot, just go to the same 192.168.1.1 and it will show CFE mini server or something, instead of Huawei emergent. Then now you can upload the trx files from Asuswrt.

Hope this help.
