after reading XS, Asus P5B-E Plus all = C2. while Asus P5B-E v1.02 above all = C2. Asus P5B-DLX v1.04 above all = C2. (might not be correct, keep in mind)

Is my 2.8GHZ E6300 Idle at 54c and load @ 68c acceptable....Will it burn my CPU ?

Ya, vCore a bit high there... I'm running 7x430 @ 1.225V / 1.192V shown in CPU-Z. Could lower you vCore a bit and extend the life of our processor

eh.. E6400 not stable when >400fsb?
I am planning to upgrade to E6400 now, hope can get higher OC. Now my E6300 can only hit 440fsb. But im not satisfy . I tot E6400 can easily hit 400fsb.. i sold my E6300 alrdy

1.25v..  why u all can lower the vcore so much. mine was doing 1.375v in bios (1.344v in cpuz) and it only stable at that level. 1.356v in bios sure got erros after 5 minutes in orthos >.<
hehe i just need 400x8=3.2ghz in daily usage. dont need anything higher so i just try to stable it first at this level. when i free sure will try to oc beyong that

undervolting  won't damage cpu rite?
if not correctly done just crash or weird stuff will happen?  

now running 1.25v 400x7 orthos pass 1hour 30 mins adi , temeperature during orthos (54C cpu/66C core)

My E6300 can run 1.275 vCore @400fsbx7 stable. I prefer undervolt vCore to get lower temp at higher clock speed.

I've just got a new e6300 on a ds3 mobo. The problem is the cpu fan takes about 3 seconds to start spinning...is this normal?

And what is the stock temp for this cpu? My temp is 40C...normal? Im using the intel stock cooler with a normal coolermaster thermal paste. Do i need a new cooler?

And are there any uber noob guides to overclocking a rig with my specs? Would like one that specifically uses a DS3 as an example. I've read some of the guides in the pinned topics...but don't really understand most of them.

all the sudden people are pushing down the vcore instead of pushing the clock higher... ... just tried mine last nite...now running orthos for 22hrs at 458x7 wif 1.325 vcore...will stop at 24hrs...
my e6300 history at 3.2G: 1.375 --> 1.350 --> 1.331 --> 1.325
burning-in does help!

anyway now running stable 1.225vcore 400x7

b) Gigabyte 965P DS3 + C2D E6400 (RM 1350)

Ya mine is over 3Ghz (can see my sign).. after reach tht clock speed add vCore or vFSB/vMCH also no use. So frustrated.. but nothing more i can do.
If E6400 i think have higher potential to hit 3.6Ghz.

Not all E6300 can reach 450fsb, as u can see from lyn or foreign o'c board.
How much vCore u feed to hit 450 ?? Agree with u, its really not good for 24/7.. last time i also play undervolt.
Yes... E6600 is better. But i think its becoz of higher multiplier for oc. The extra 2mb caches only make less than 5% of performance difference.
I cant afford E6600  can only buy E6400 after i sold my E6300. I just need top up RM50 only 

idle.. if load/gamming should be 56-57C for my porc @ 3Ghz

let's say i get myself a gigabyte 965P-DS3 and a E6300 ...
what is the minimum overclock speed that is easily achievable ?
seems like 3ghz is a 'normal overclock' for everybody, even if using the stock HSF  ... 

i see that most of you guys are using 7 for the multiplier and the FSB is over 430mhz for most of u  ... anybody here not having 'good luck' at overclocking E6300?

Yesterday I went up to Brunei and went to a couple of computer shops there. And one of them sells a few sticks of KVR 1GB DDR2 with Micron D9GKX. Too bad the price isn't sweet at all. B$199 per stick = RM458.

Nobody can help me up on this?

Wait 6 more months?? too long for me. 
2mb and 4mb caches perf diff is <5% only. Tht just Intel's gimmick..  so stupid f*** they lock the other 2mb cache now wanna enable it and put new cod name on same proc.
If i able to clock 20fsb more i wont care about tht 5% haha. 2pid intel
