Can't log in to Maybank OST using IE8 even using Compatibility View. Downloaded the Cab file and updated Java, but no results. Using Windows 7 RC 64-bit.

Any idea ? smile.gif

been using it on IE8 Compatibility View, XP SP3 since morning till now.
no problems.
don't waste time updating your Java VM, there is not part of maybank2u stock trading that requires Java VM available locally.

can view the Online Stock d after using IE8 32-bit. I think the OST only supported 32-bit IE browsers, not 64-bit ones. smile.gif

anyone can explain some about maybankinvest to me here? tongue.gif
because i am using a cash account.
so just now at around 1pm i make a order of 50 units of shares at a certain price which is lower than the market price at the moment.
(they send the order at 2pm)
after an hour, at 3pm, it shows 'all matched', so i should had bought the shares right?
but the weird thing is the balance in my premium-i account haven't been deducted.
so will it be deducted tomorrow or?
or i still didn't get the share?

The funds will be deducted on T+3 which is the settlement date.

Cash account can also contra (contra just means buying and then selling before T+3), and it is no more dangerous than non-contra trading..... both are risky... wink.gif

just want to share that if you're using Windows 7 RC, you can't save your 'My Favourite' lists for good. Would have to add the list back every time you logging in, so rather quite troublesome and time consuming.

So, for convenient of trading, keep XP or Vista. smile.gif

Margin financing means borrow bank money to play stock..so the risk is higher..if after T+3 the share price drop, you'll have to sell at a lose. Share margin financing is meant for short term trading..so the risk of losing money is higher..unless you're very very very sure that the share price will increase within 3 days after u bought the share (take into account also the brokerage fees)..otherwise better invest with your own money ;-)

Added on August 6, 2009, 9:45 pmDoes anyone know the meaning of the "Bank Value" column (beside Market Value) in the Monthly Statement?

Is it a must to sell after T3?? I thought they'll only force sell when there is a margin call only?? as long as the margin is not at the specified level, those shares won't be sell but the customer will need to pay interest on the amount use to buy the share??

please correct m if i'm wrong

if you want to trade online stock, DON'T USE MAYBANK!
their server and website simply sucks.
Why?
(1)when you type ost.maybank2u.com.my which is the direct link to the online stock, after you type in your user name and password, often you will be redirected back to www.maybank2u.com.my and you need to login again there.
what for? pretty stupid i guess.
(2)some more their server is very sluggish when sending order, you can try yourself, my experience is btw. Maybank and Jupiter.
Maybank only sent my order to BMSB (appear in the Q) after at least 30 secs or upto 45 secs after i place my order while Jupiter sent my order to BMSB almost immediately or within 5 secs.
(3)you can only check your account balance once in a bluemoon, because most of the time you will get server busy problem but they already improve this features nowadays, i get higher chance of success when attempting to check my balance.
(4)the Portfolio for Maybank isn't that good compared to its competitor, you only can view how much share you own but you can't view how much you earn or lose.
(5)Maybank Invest appeared that they charge 0.1% or min RM8 for cash account but they charge RM12 or 0.42% first and only refund the difference every 10th of each month, what for???
(6)the most weird thing about Maybank invest is that they don't have a central customer service hotline which you can refer to when you encounter any problems, i tried called to 1300-88-6688, they ask me to call some 03 number but end up they tell me they don't have central customer service and they can't check my account details, i need to REFER TO MY OWN BRANCH REMISIER if any problem arose.
doesn't it sound weird?
(7)there is a great chance that they will having schedule maintenance during weekend (after friday market close until sunday midnight), today luckily didn't have this stupid maintenance.

I agree with you...
1)Yeah I experienced that many times.. worst still I have to relog just to view research and announcements
2)My remisier is very good, placing order isnt a problem to me..
3)Viewing Account Summary is painfully slow and doesnt work most of the time... sad.gif
4)My portfolio doesnt work...
5)Not sure about the charges..
6)Have you tried contacting your remisier ?
7)yup...

Your annual report will be send to nominee a/c, i.e. maybank. If u required the annual report, or want to attend AGM, etc, you need to tell your remiser/ agent you wish to do so.
