Wow. I was considering the GTX 1080 Jetstream too, but decided not too because of its 3-slot height. But I did not notice the girth of this card seeing photos of it alone. Now seeing it next to another card, damn that's one humongous card.

I paid RM3279.00 for Palit GTX 1080 Gamerock premium + G panel. Since already paid some deposit for earlier booking, I buy it from DotaTech (lingloong). Otherwise I may get it from Gemfive, Lazada or somewhere else since better offer.

Free games bundle may have to wait. I think now the new GPUs selling like hot cakes, probably manufacturer don't bother to give offer for now. Maybe a few months down the road, when sales slows.

Solution:

Actually with AIO cooler, that i5-750 is pretty good for an old CPU. I had i5-750 last year with Aurora R2 mobo. Stable at 3.99 Ghz (BCLK 133 Mhz x 24 Multiplier).

I think the video is quite cool. If you have old CPU like i5-750 and have very limited budget for upgrade, going for GTX 1070 and GTX 1080 still feasible if gaming at the right resolution to fully use the GPU capability. Kinda proved too that 1080P gaming with the new gen GPU looked like a bit of overkill because its still very much CPU bound.

It is one big ass card and rather heavy too. My Palit GTX1080 Gamerock could not fit in the casing. In the end I takeout the small drive bay by sawing off the rivets and hammer out the broken rivets. The drive bays is not use anyway, no harm taken out. It rather heavy now and hanging up there by screw and PCI slot. I think I am going to get a stick or something to support the card. After installing the card, the PC is really heavy, feels like dumb bell.

Thanks to my brother, he help me to saw off the rivets with tools. Not exactly the right tool but it works. For anyone out there wants to remove rivet, google "how to remove rivets from pc case".


Finally fit in. The cables are rather messy, have clean things up later.

cpu bottleneck

Sked to oc my 3770k..sked tak jadi...later kaboom...but at the same time wondering will my cpu bottleneck my gpu..

My seller just told me, he will free upgrade my Super-flower Leadex silver 650w to Super-flower Leadex Gold 650w due to stock issue.

Just google a bit the PSU , it is one of the tier one PSU, quite surprise to see that. 

For those interested in getting the Zotac 980 Ti clearance units at RM1789, apparently it doesn't have any backplate. Not sure this is the case for ALL the units, but the pricing is ~RM1689 for minus backplate.

Guys, just installed my Palit GameRock 1070 and it seems that i cannot run any game at all. All games will auto close application when in game for like less than a minute. I'm using Windows 10... this is frustrating...

Is it worth it guys? Or better hunt for the GTX1070?

I think somehow GTX1070 will be more successful. Price too close. Save RM 1 per day for 1 year can get GTX1070 d (especially with the gemfive discount).

RX480 still owns in Hitman DX12 and DX11 too. I wonder what's going on behind the scene.

Need some opinion and suggestion from all Sifu here...what should I get between i7 6700 or 6700k for gaming purpose ? I'm not a overclocker but prefer max up setting and stable gameplay for those triple A title on 21:9 ultrawide 2560x1080p at 60hz...and I do wish my rig can last about 2 or mayb max 3 years for as setting above with no worries...so witch processor should I go for it...?

If I buy the non-ref 1060 today, I'll definitely OC to the max from day one. That's where the money's worth.

Mon is same as yours lg29um57...plan Upgrade predator x34 by next year seen now already out of budget....haha. Game I play most is wither 3, rotr, gtv or some other triple a title...no plan to overclock, so any better suggestion ? Thanks.

Z170 mobo is made for overclocking and multi GPU support (SLI/CF) etc, since you don't plan to overclock, you can just go for B150/H170, can save few hundred bucks (not necessary need to get Asus if you want to save money for X34).

RAM can use value RAM as well since non-Z170 cannot utilize RAM speed of > 2133MHz anyway.

And avoid Kingston V300 due to this reason, go for the new UV400 series instead.

And you might want to state which Gigabyte 800W PSU model, it is rare to find high end Gigabyte PSU in Malaysia, mostly low end though.

Update: I know nobody cares...  Lol...

It seems after all the hassles of installing and uninstalling drivers for my gtx 1070, at last I'd found out it was my Samsung Ssd magician software f'ed up my virtual memory setting. That is why some games like ROTR can't launch at all with Max setting.

After some adjustments, all games are running fine now....
