For ppl who plan to buy later for the palit gtx card on gemfive, have a bad news to u all...the RAYA promotion code already ends....yesterday night I try to buy something in gemfive but when I enter the RAYA promotion code, it noted that the promotion code is not valid...so just now I try call gemfive to make sure that is the company system down or error, but the answer is the RAYA promotion code is no longer exist...the promotion is ended and they already confirm to me...or else who can call them to double confirm ? I tot the promotion should be end by 5 August...

quite agree with that. By design all custom cooler is urgly a.k.a too over. FE have the best design. Go custom cooler , many ppl told me , it just about better warranty, temperature and price.

Wow. Didn't know only malaysia got this special treatment from Zotac. A full black reference design 1070.  Note that it is not FE card, but a reference card. So price will be cheaper than FE.

been playing with palit 1070 gamerock for couple of days now and im quite impressed with its performance.. 2075mhz core stable, 58c max temp with just 45% fan speed.. can lower down the temp more by increasing fan usage up to 70% with barely noticeable fan noise. heck i can completely shut off the fan cooler and only using case fan to cool off the gpu and yet temp never exceed 70c.  thats beyond my expectation for a low price gpu performance  . its humongous cooler really pays off. 

thats makes me really itchy to get another 1070 for sli.. or maybe upgrade to 1080? since my 1070 only few days old no problem to sell it at minimum loss.. so guys 1070 sli or upgrade to 1080??

My previous card got fried pretty badly GTX660 because i leave the workstation switched on 24/7, am currently thinking of getting a GTX1070 to replace it, actually how should I pick as there are so many variants around?! Not looking for fancy lightings and stuff (as I don't really get to see the interior of the chasis), also how long is the card? I suppose my old cm690 case have enough space for that

last time purposely buy higher PSU so I can change GC in future

The top has moduvent covers. With covers installed, you can't install fans/radiators. With covers removed, the fans will exhaust the air upwards. Hence filter is not required for this setup.

Bought msi 1070 gaming x when it was launched. Been using it with my xeon x5450 oc to 3.6ghz with 8gb ddr2. Doom 2016 max setting (ultra/nightmare) always above 70fps with dx11 and vulkan.

But witcher 3...  dear god... 30fps in town max settings with full aa and full hairworks.. gotta upgrade my cpu..

Purchased msi GTX1070 Gaming X. However, GTAV got bottleneck because my RAM is just a pair of Corsair Vengeance DDR3 4GBx2 1866MHz. FPS drop to 40+fps during day time but sometimes able to run at 60fps with v-sync enabled.

I am using Core i7 3770k with 240mm liquid cooler and overclocked to 4.2GHz and was ordered a pair of Corsair Vengeance Pro DDR3 8GBx2 2400MHz. Will try to play GTAV again with a 16GB ram.

Again, the advantage of buying physically here is so that you get to deal with another human presence who would RMA it properly when shit hits the fan. But more often than not, when shit hits the fan, that human presence dealt with it poorly, resulting in the same process and duration it took if you had bought it yourself online and RMA it yourself. The only upside buying locally is someone else is doing it for you. But even then, that "someone" isnt doing the job properly resulting in long RMA delays and in Powerslide's case, the BS he had to go through.

I prefer the instant gratification of "go to shop, grab what I want, have what I want instantly" too myself. Too many times I've complained that in Malaysia, "got money no stock". Because the dealers here only stocks the generic/rudimentary/common denominator for their stock, and not anything slightly high end. But when even the "advantage" of buying local has diminished when stocks are not available, stocks are artificially controlled in price and horrible RMA processes, what's the reason left buying local again?

There used to be a time where stores that hold stocks readily and some with high end denominations are highly regarded, it's a prestige of sorts. It's the mentality of "who gets to the bottom of the barrel first" that is driving the stores away from stocking high end products (and adopted the "need to order" basis) and instead, stock the most boring, mundane products readily available at any Bangla-staffed Low Yat booth/store.  See how last time PC Fair was the event to showcase the highest end product releases when it was held in PWTC. What happens to PC Fair now? Endless rows of cheap powerbanks and harddrives, magazine subscriptions and salespersons pushing you flyers to sign up for their telco plans.

buying electronic product, consumer like forever waiting for next gen mind. In the end, still keep on waiting, i think just buy whenever you feel the timing is right or right on budget or offer. After volta, they will say like it is just half-bake volta, a better volta will coming out after 6 months, those shit will continue like endlessly.

But you really think nvidia will shift to next gen sooner, i highly doubt that. May be when they have problem selling their pascal cards.

NVIDIA P6000 Quadro with fully enabled GP102 (3840 cores) and 24GB GDDR5X ram.

Seems NV is releasing Pascal at full speed. Volta will be coming late next year? NV seems to refine their SM architecture perfectly with Pascal already (optimum ratio of SMs, ROPs, Polymorph in a single GPC).

Note: NV's contract for Oak Ridge Summit supercomputer is due 2017. Summit is designed to use NVIDIA Volta.

Thinking of ordering MSI 980ti Golden Edition 6G. I know that GTX 1070 is better(-ish?) with more vram but man the color and design. plus i use an MSI Mobo so should look nice.

My friends say I'm stupid , push me to order 1070 instead. But price is for cheapest 1070 is palit jetstream (saw one for RM 1999) is the same as the msi 980ti golden 6g (RM 1999).

And i have a 1080p Dell monitor. Power supply is a no issue for me since i have 750w PSU. I might OC it I suppose.
