Someone asked if driving in 's' simulates a traditional autobox shift. Answer is no. Unless u do manual shift with the paddle. Even that u won't feel much jerk during up and down shift due to the 7 speed ratios.

In 's' mode, the response is sharp. Almost too sharp for comfort in start stop traffic. Cvt delay almost unnoticeable.

It handles the hilly road better than traditional auto because it never gets confused on ratio selection.

So, S simulated more aggressive ratio shifting but still CVT style. The traditional shifting method only during paddle shifting?

Was looking at a few 0-60 videos, noticed they set to S but it is shifting in paddle shift style... I remember during my short test drive it showed which shift in number?

so 1st batch will have more imported parts, before local parts build up to supply Melaka assembly plant.

like what happened to Civic Type-R in UK, production unit below 2k used imported parts from Japan and USA.
*
Most probably they would have already sourced the parts locally. There isn't reason to just sell a locally assembled car first and slowly source parts locally. Honda explained before that the govt incentive for establishing an assembly plant here is how they drive the car prices down. But, they also took a further step by having an R&D team in Pegoh to source and get parts to further lower costs of the honda cars in malaysia.

According to the Honda Jazz 2013 launch, that car alone will contain up to 30% of locally sourced parts i think. I think they did not include the chassis and powertrain stuff into that statistics.

I am not sure about the Civic FC, but i remember previous CVTs in S mode, the CVT is actually in Auto mode but will run the revs higher than in D mode under WOT. Once you flick the paddle shifters in S mode, it becomes a manual mode and will not be overridden in whatever gear / ratio you choose to stay in. Not sure if it will hit the rev cut or not but it will stay there and won't auto shift up as you accelerate unlike in D mode.

No. Need to go to Car Accessory shop or buy the bypass and DIY. I only tag you the video showing how to do it. I haven't done it myself. Android Auto have not allowed Waze yet, but already confirmed that they're working together to put in on AA - Google owns Waze now. Currently, only Google Maps is available on AA and Apple Maps on CarPlay. If you get the Honda Civic TC-P, you also get navigation - Garmin.

When you guys get yr new car, do you now always look for pillars or standalone parking slots ?

I just checked there's shift point in the 0-100 videos. the shift points
Is at 50+mph and the rpm at 5.7k.

I didn't go that high and sustain the acceleration, probably that's why I didn't feel the shift point. Wil try again once hit 1000km.

RM60 / mth with unlimited washes seems like little too cheap for their workmanship. Really putting this into consideration.
No its not. How many ppl are going to wash twice a week like me? Majority will wash once a week that's 4 times a month which works out to be RM15 per wash. And they market it a bit lower but entice more to sign up. Plus they enrol you on a monthly basis so its guaranteed income for RV.

Anyway, let RV deal with the business side of it. That's their problem not ours. We wash our cars and if we are happy with the end result for RM60 then its fine.

My default behaviour always. Doesn't matter new or old car. I always arrive at the shopping complex at 10am, or earlier if they're open, to make sure I get prime parking space.

Hi All,

I've received about 12 PM's over the past 2 hours. Some ok. Some weird.

Allow me to make some things clear with regards to Regal Valet and my position:

1) I do not work for Regal Valet
2) I do not earn any commission from Regal Valet
3) I do not own a car spa / coating/ tinting business
4) I am just a customer of RV since Dec 2015 when I got my car done there and tmr im sending my wife's Civic there too
5) I recommend RV and the GYEON coating because of the reasons ive mentioned in my earlier posts
6) I cannot make special arrangements for you or deal on a case by case basis. You will need to deal directly with RV for this.
7) The normal price of the Gyeon MOHS+ coating is RM3,500 less the 20% ongoing Raya promo less 10-15% for Civic owners group buy
8) All I need from you is your name, hp, car registration which I will pass to RV to deal with you.
9) If you have general enquiries about RV or their services kindly post in the thread so that I don't have to keep repeating
10) You are under no obligation to do the coating at RV. Ive already provided you the reasons why I think their's is good (using my own brand new BMW car as a guinea pig). If you think you have a better deal out there by all means go ahead. No issue at all.

So far nobody has provided me with any concrete details or confirmation on the group buy. So kindly stop asking me how many ppl have signed up. Im just a customer like you who is merely taking my own initiative to get you a better deal from RV. That's all.

Cheers! biggrin.gif

They have a Raya promo ongoing now which is 20% off. The owner said if there is more than 4 owners from LYN who does the coating together, he can give a further 10-15% discount.

I will be sending my wife's car there tonite for the coating and Llumar Diamond 6 tinting. So anybody who wants and is confirmed PM me your name, contact no and car registration number.

hi cyber, i heard you bringing your wife car for llmuar tinting there as well, what are the price you got there? so they have a tinting with coating package?

Thanks
