It is not my intention to rub salt nor any other condiments into Bro Tims wounds nor any other type of abrasion/lesions!!

Tim, dun sound like choosing the Epson is a bad thing, be secure in the believe that its the "correct" choice given the circumstances. As both you and I have pointed out our postings both the lumen and SDE concerns can be tweaked.

Maybe now we can start sharing some settings...

bro dirtrun dun like thatlah....

Eh, have you had any chance to further tweak the settings of your Epson? I still dun have a calibtration tool, and do not have any referrence for colour and contrast. All my settings still at zero and it looks OK.

I somehow get the feeling I am being lulled into a false sense of security, when in reality I could be geting more out of the projector.

Hiya bro J,

You sound so serious, mah... just joke joke a bit only .... hehehe

Well I did basic calibration wif Avia(I tot I posted it up somewhere , maybe not here...) and surprise surprise de out of de box settings are spot on, wif my eyes anyway... de red/blue thingy was fine, de black and white was also rite cos I played wif it for awhile but it dont really made an improvement so I set it back to default, de ws function, well mine got dat shorter one side thing so it can be seen here(but dat I alrady know...) Maybe de epson QC's use avia too...hahaha

On de AVS tweaks - no not yet ... too lazy la cos their settings very specific one oso must record old setiing in case dont like de new one ... then koyak...
At de moment just enjoying watching movies, maybe later when gatai pungkok time la...

Cheers

Alamak.
I typed long long suddenly pressed wrong key and all gone. So, start again.

Eh... u two ah... just because I was away for 2 days, doesn't mean u can talk behind my back.... tongue.gif tongue.gif tongue.gif sleep.gif sleep.gif

Anyway, the dealer called me up and said the best he can get is what Dirt's getting. So, cannot save some money. He will be getting the catalog for me to confirm it is the model. I don't want later when I say yeah yeah, I want TW700 but he buy me Epson 400. I die la.

If Prolite 1080, I dont mind la. brows.gif : hehe:
Anyway, regarding TW700... when I watch AX100, I feel more movie like. Yeah, when u don't have something to compare, you might not know but since I've been watching it for like 4-5 months, yeah... its kinda obvious. May be I need some tweak or what 1-1 compare, I prefer AX100.
TW700 more like a normal projector.

But ... but...
ITs OK.

As for the mounting, I've just hinted my subcon that I am changing my projector. He was fast... "u just give me the measurement la"
Kekeke... No need pay money one. Ops... corruption here spotted. KAkakaka...

Anyway... if I can modify, I'll do it myself.

As for distance, well, its OK. I've just made the biggest commitment in my life. I just bought a house and probably if loan approve, I will be moving in by end of the year. Yeayy...

Thanks for all the poisonous needles poked... until I moved to Epson. tongue.gif

(psst... actually, no choice biggrin.gif )

Hahaha,

Id beg to differ on de biggest commitment woh ... wat do you call getting married... hehehehe
Dont believe me ... go ask any divorced man and see wat is awarded from community property...
Hahaha...

On de Epson 700 stock settings, yes it is good already so bro Jason you can enjoy without worrying... of cos itll never be as good as de ax100 for bro Tim la (forbidden fruit syndrome???)

Welcome back, where got talk behind your back. We are here to support you oni.

Really funny how everyone's preferences differ, at first when I saw the AX100 my first comment was how filmlike it was and I thought it was a plus point. Then the more I watched the more I try to focus it to try to get it sharper. In the end the filmlike quality became its minus point for me. When I watched the TW700, its was sharp as day and as such I did not find myself reaching for the focus ring every other minute. So I really had no choice but to select the TW700 over the AX100. And because it is sharper I find that the picture is more 3Dlike and the colours have more pop compared to the AX100... this I found after I viewed the units that I help to sell.

By the way, I am in Bangkoknow. In case u diden know, there was a 6.1 richter earthquake up in Laos, but it was felt in Bangkok. The earthquake was mild but having not felt one this big before, it was quite an experience. I went woah as the whole building shook.... felt like my head was spinning.

I just went to AV Designs with Mr. Tan, Director of Mediaplex to see James Tan at AV Designs. Went there specifically to see the JVC DLA-HD1.

One word: Awesome.

The blacks are a breaktrhough in digital projectors. Notch above the VPL-VW50 'Pearl' from Sony. The picture is Punchy, and sharp. They fed a Standard definition DVD when we went in the showroom. At first, I thought it was HD, but the Gennum Processor did an amazing job. Well done JVC!

Pearl to Mitsu and Now the JVC.

Now I'm just making a screen. Constant Image height 2.35:1, might do 126" wide, even if i change to 1.78:1 (16:9) I'll get a 100" image. Nice.
