Does who say David Beckham cant play football shows that the person aren't watching football...

Ronaldinho can cross a ball, maybe not as good as Beckham, but he's a lot more effective than Beckham

Zidane can cross a ball better than Beckham at times, other than just crossing, passing, deadball situations, he creates chances with his runs and his visions

Jermain Pennant, was one of the best crossers in the premiership last season, with pace and flair. Was one of the most promising players bought by Arsene Wenger.

Joaquin, one of the best wingers. Deadly crossings, great pace, dribbling ability and vision.

Ryan Giggs, crossings are good with pace....flair, leadership and also not to forget, his dribbling abilities despite of his age.

Aaron Lennon, an agile youngster who is tipped to be the next England's 1st choice winger who has the pace plus dribbling ability. Although his crossings aren't as good as any of the players above, but nevertherless...I'd take him anytime than Becks for the England Squad

Shaun Wright-Phillips, his crossings are deadly and so is his pace, which made Chelsea willing to pay so much for him eventhough they could've just sign Becks.

There're also the likes of Steven Gerrard, Arjen Robben, Michael Carrick, Xabi Alonso, Rosicky, Fabregas, Totti, Nedved, Quaresma, Diego, Messi.....etc

There're just so many players who can be a better option than Becks, no wonder Real weren't keen to sign him a new contract.

and the most important thing..the player that stated above such as messi,robben,pennant,etc..at least have skill.
but beckham none..i read in the real madrid forum..their die hard fan even said beckham is like an assistant for the referee when he played..coz he just run with nothing do..and when the ball is pass to him..he will quickly pass to other..or maybe he played 1 touch football.. smile.gif
for the goal from heading i'm only remember he head once when he first year at the club..other than that..i never heard of..
maybe coz i'm a barca fan..i doesnt mind about becks

Cristiano doesn't make better crosses than Beckham, but I'd say he's much more effective than Beckham.

I doubt that C.ronaldo at the age of 31 would be effective as he is now but no doubt about beckham only good at crossing and dead ball expert. He's more suited now to play with the like of team in MLS.

Giggs is around 34 now and is still one of the best players in Man Utd. Cantona was still great when he was 31, Zidane retired last year and i think it was 35. David Ginola still runs around despite being 30+ last time. Figo and Steve Macca did well when they were 31. Besides that, Zola, Nedved, Cafu, Roberto Carlos, Gary Mccallister did well past their 30s, and they did extremely well too

Give me any of the above, I'd choose them over Beckham.

A 20 year old Beckham and a 20 year old Cristiano Ronaldo, I'd still choose Cristiano Ronaldo.

becks is the best corsser of the the ball, best deal ball specialist. as much as i hated him back in his man u days..i do rate him very highly. but i admit he has passed his best but stil a legend. still remember thoose days when a corner kick feels like a penalty everytime becks takes it.. perfect!

some players peak early, some player not.. some player last longer and some player not. not true ? look at this :

stan collymore : once said as the biggest striker england could have..

fowler: very good goalscorer at his young age, but look at what happened to him when he is over 28yrs old.

raul gonzalez : become a legend at very young age.. look at him now..overshadow by his past

figo : he reached his peak at 28yrs old and he only last around 5 yrs at top his game.

macca: he's very good when he is at liverpool, at younger age. bought by madrid and never been as good as he is (but still above then ok) and many said he's done nothing in england shirt.

zidane : come on, u cant compare this very rare player with others footballer.

roberto carlos: u got to be joking he is very good until now.. he can run, but he keeps giving free goal to opponent doh.gif

ginola & cantona : also at top of his game at around 5-6 years only..

beckham's peak was during 1997/1998 season, the year before wcup 98. at that time he was only 22yrs old. he lasted until i could say his 2nd season at RM. which was during 2003/2004.. so he is at top of his game for around 6 years as well. so he is like others too tongue.gif

maybe many would say his best was during treble season, where he assisted so many goal but for me his best was during his last season at man u where he scored 18 goals and still be top assist in EPL.

i used to buy many man u mags during in schools and i remembered top coaches said that why he needs to dribble if he can pass from 50 yards out, and still reach the same destination..

so that means, many agrees with his class and talent... just that now his best is over, same like others (fowler, raul, collymore who?)

just wait and see..who knows he'll get his career back on track, and even score more than Pele laugh.gif Pele used to play in MLS right? mellow.gif nway, his cross is probably one of the best in teh world, and so his passing skills and dead ball situations.dribbling, i don't think so
