It's time to lay it down, LYN style! Have your say on the move of the century or you can call it "the-$250million-move-that-will-make-Becks-a-lot-richer-while-doing-some-good-to-America".

I think he's more concerned with saving his career n salvaging his diminishing fame. N it's a win-win situation 4 both club n player thx 2 da publicity it brought 2 US league.

We all know that Beckham has talked about his desire in being in U.S league during the end of his career but it has happen sooner than we expected.
1st - Beckham is not getting regular 1st team appeareance as he should have in RM and that pretty sums up that he isn't in Capello's plan as we all know that Capello is trying to create a new team dynamic in the squad where the Older generation of Galaticos will be release in the expense of new talented youngsters. 2nd - Milan has said that if Beckham were to choose Europe, without doubt Milan would have capture his signature. But having known that Beckham is already in his early 30's, why would he want to be in another place where he can hardly speak the language and his whole family would need to re-adapt to the new environment which has proven difficult when they first move out of England. 3nd - Since America is a nation which speaks English as their mother tongue, ton's of entertainments around, exposure of the media, their celebrity contacts, bla bla bla the list goes on it would be an ideal choice for him. Even though there isn't anymore competitive matches for him like the CL, i think he got used to it since he has been dropped from both the England and RM squad. With the huge and insane money given to him, why not stay in a country where Soccer is not dominant sports being watched, hence, lesser pressure than in Big European Squad and can have additional time off with his family. |

Obviously because of money deal. For a 30+ player to get that kind of offer is rare. I dont blame him if he just admitted it. Life time offer. All other reason i think quite BS to me.

Beckham still has the talent as a world class footballer, that this will evidently show when he plays for a lower quality league like the MLS..

voted for money coz it must have been da deciding factor in his move to america... however he's been lacking 1st team games atm n capello rarely plays him so a change would b good. probably a chance to get into da acting scene.

QUOTE(zimhibikie @ Jan 15 2007, 12:50 PM) Heard she is already looking for some nice "houses" in LA. So, Posh is happy but David might not be that happy, we will wait and see. Anyhow, I think its unreasonable to justify his move just because "Posh said so". Who is she, Spice Girls or something? Oh, wait, she is. A former. David Beckham when compared to other top notch players, might not be that good. However, do note that he has had an overall successful career in MU and also RM, although I must admit he didn't do as well as I expected in RM. How well will he do in LA Galaxy- very well. Why? Because for a $250mil. move, it would be insane if he doesn't do that well. Rightly so, other MLS players will look up to him, and accept him as a "star" player. In the event David doesn't play that well, fans would still cheer for him and he will still be a great player at the end of the day. Just wait and see I tell you, he will do well. Very well. You will see him in more ads and in the future, he WILL make at least a few guest apperances in movies. |

IMO, the reason is he wants to continue to play football. he's not in Capello plan anymore.
