5G SA implementation (via Galaxy A06 5G updated to Android 16/One UI 8, Power 35 plan)
Well the calls will no longer drop to 4G, because it natively supported VoNR calls. Interestingly, the status bar will still show "VoLTE" rather than "Vo5G" or "VoNR". "5G" speed test when I lock to N28 only - very similar to 4G+ speeds, anyhow. But it is better than the existing reception of Yes 4G at my home - if I used on devices that support 5G SA, it won't need to connect to Yes 4G network anymore - better reception in my house. I used 300Mbps fibre internet at home, anyway - speed is not a concern for me, but 5G congestion itself, is very real in my area. I have a Yes prepaid SIM, to test if it is able to connect to 5G SA (locked to 5G only), no luck here, it just fall to U Mobile 5G (Yes clearly said prepaid services does not support 5G SA yet). My postpaid SIM does connect to 5G SA (when I purposely lock to 5G bands only). This post has been edited by shaun_kok: Nov 5 2025, 06:26 AM |

QUOTE(kit2 @ Nov 5 2025, 08:11 PM) No, it refused to connect (emergency calls only) - it should be the same DNB infra in my area right now. See the "limited service" on that screenshot.Because that Yes Prepaid SIM does not support 5G SA, hence it refuse to connect to SA only mode when I purposely set to 5G SA, but my Yes postpaid SIM (which did support 5G SA natively), do connect to SA mode/5G only mode - when I purposely set to 5G only bands (N28/78). Yes SIM card for some reason tends to heavily priortise U Mobile's 5G if the device bandlocked to 5G only and it can't connect (plan not supported/software block).... before U Mobile deploys their own 5G more widely, the device can "see" DNB's 5G SA just fine and that's enough for me for CellMapper use

QUOTE(eeeglow24 @ Nov 8 2025, 09:32 PM) If I remember correctly. reload rm20 is x2 validityThe last i topup rm20 on 27SEP. So 7-11 is the expired date of the sim. I don’t know why Yes did like this, really want to make customers nervous and topup. Thanks 40 days from September 27, 2025, is November 6, 2025. its credit validity expire not sim card terminated + 60 or 50 days grace period eeeglow24 liked this post

Thanks yup.. mine also same.. actual termination date is 29.11 but the app shows wrong date.. must be prob from YES system or something... Because of this system glitch, which showed termination date the day after last day of validity, I straight port-out my Yes number to other network. Worried about my number being recycled afterwards, and no ways to get back the phone number.yup.. mine also same.. actual termination date is 29.11 but the app shows wrong date.. must be prob from YES system or something...
