just wanna ask,

sr16 blue top, with wiring, air con, meters selling for rm4k.

izzit worth it?
*
RM4K is not really that worth it... But depends on the condition of the engine...

Want to know our B14 can fit in suspension from other Nissan made ? e.g Silvia, Cefiro etc? Feel the suspension a bit let down especially during hard cornering ..
*
Can fit but needs some heavy mods...

how much is the GAB adjustable ? BTW my car when going on uneven road / peeble road, can hear soem kluk2 sound as if there something loose, but I have just changed the lower arm bushes not long ago, so wheres the prob ?
*
Where did the sound come from? Front suspension or rear? It could be that the absorber was not installed properly... I had a similar problem once with my front left absorber... But after my mech took it out and realigned it properly, the sound is gone...

B14 (A) yr 97, current mileage 160k km. Just got it last month for 24k (a bit expensive hor.....but external & internal condition good). good power, but the fc is only around 12km/l. hope to get more km, hehe........

Added on August 6, 2008, 9:47 amBTW, i heard that alot of foremen said that b14 "car leg" (cantonese lah) also got sound one, even after repair still will come back. true ah? coz mine now when go pass some bumpy roads, sometimes got "kluk kluk" sound from the bottom.

and wat is the "car leg" in english??
*
12km/L is considered good for an 11-year old car...

"Car leg" in English is Suspension...

The sound came from the bottom part of front suspension. Sounded like the lower arm mount is loose even though just changed not long. Sound more obvious when on uneven surfaces especially when one wheel is higher than the other one.
*
Try my advice in the previous post, find a good mech that knows how to install B14 suspensions components well...

How high is your FC? 7-8km/l? My Sentra can get an average of 13-15km/l. And my friend said my car FC is bad. When I asked back my friend who is driving a Myvi, he said much better than my Sentra, he can get 300-320km/RM90? What the hell is he thinking? My Sentra FC is much better than his Myvi. His Myvi only able to get 9-10km/l. hahaha, right now that guy not dare to criticise Sentra is high FC anymore. Last time that guy telling everybody he knows that Sentra FC very high lar, no good lar, but that guy never driven a Sentra before, just heard people said Sentra FC is very high, then can go out tell everybody he knows, pandainya dia!
*
It really depends on how u drive the car la... If you're heavy footed, sure FC high loh... No matter what car u drive...

Phew, finally got my Sentra back from the workshop... With JPJ and Puspakom approvals all done... biggrin.gif

Next thing to do is to source for exhaust (mid-section and back box)...

QUOTE(advanceNissan @ Aug 17 2008, 11:54 PM)
Just disconnect the Negative wire from the battery and wait for a few minutes (5 minutes), later connect it back and start your car engine and let the engine run for a few minutes (also 5 minutes), do not do anything including kick the pedal or switch on the air-con, cd player, just leave the engine run idle for a few minutes, let the ECU read all the data from your vehcle, then everything is ok.
*
Ah, thanks for the guide, mate, I was trying to find out how to reset the ECU too... smile.gif

pioneer player. makes me want to get 1 too. how about ur speaker? is it in god condition?
the pimples? not normal. only proton cars get pimples when they are mature enough. hehe.
*
I am using a Pioneer player (without MP3) now but I'm thinking of changing to a Blaupunkt unit in the near future...

My Sentra also got pimples... This is caused by a very low quality respray paintjob done by the previous owner... Luckily still not rust spots yet... Will have to get my car in to the spraypainters soon...

I ask the paintshop owner the reasons for the pimples.
I dont know how expect is he, what he told me is like this : the pimples reason is due to the environment and drying of the first coating before paint applied ; if the environment is not free of debris than after few years the pimples will appear.
*
It usually due to the use of low quality clear coat...

Have your car been painted before? Usually the original paint very very rare the pimples will occur, unless collided by something hard.

Yes, it has been repainted before but not by me, it's by the previous owner...

Hi there, any recomended good workshop for fixing sentra's front "car leg" kluk kluk sound ? Thank You.
*
If you're willing to go all the way down to Setapak, then I'll recommend you Leong's Motor at Lot KHS 1B, Jalan Rasak, Taman Setapak, Setapak, KL... The workshop is quite hard to find, so call up Leong first at 019-303 3123 before you go...

hi! bros,
Think its time change all my B14 brake pads ( front disc, rear drum ).
Care to let me know how much the damage will be and which brand of pad is good ?
*
U can try out Bendix Metal King... Resonably priced and good braking performance...

any idea how to improve the handling of a 1.8XE 2002 sentra?
I go to few workshops, lots of recommendation dont know which is better?
My requirement is to simple improve the handling as I found my current sentra a bit floaty.
*
Switch to slighty stiffer absorbers... Bilstein shocks are very good but quite pricey...

QUOTE(nlik @ Oct 1 2008, 05:43 PM)
Any of u face the issue where the backside of the n16 just jerks to the outside of a corner? this happens when the corner is uneven, has a bump or indent.  Eg.. from kinrara to bukit jalil LRT station, you have to go up the slope and turn left where on your right is the TPM entrance.  For this corner there is a slight groove on the road. opposite of a hump.. errr..sunken abit type of thing that will cause the back to jerk slightly.

I wonder how to solve this issue.
*
It's normal on B14s and N16s becoz both cars are using Multi-Link Beam suspension (which is actually an "improved" torsion beam suspension) at the back, this is caused by the slight negative camber setting of the rear wheels, and it's a fixed setting, u can't change it...

QUOTE(sledgehammer @ Oct 2 2008, 09:00 PM)
for pads, i once tried maddriver's brake pads on my previous ride (waja), it is pretty good for the price smile.gif u may consider giving him a call for more info...

about the absorber, i am using maddriver's (yeah, maddriver stuff again) absorber with sentra ori spring. it is servicable and "heavy duty"...
how long it can last i am not sure, but been using i think > 6months... so far so good, dun have the "boat" feeling tongue.gif
despite it is much stiffer compared to sentra ori one.... but gives a very good cornering feel smile.gif
i think maddriver can custom the stiffness if u want...  smile.gif
*
Errr... Who is maddriver? blink.gif

And my car axle seems to got some problem le...it has the klik klok sound when i accelerate real slow like in traffic jam time. Can some one tell me what is the problem???
*
Congrats on getting a B14... If you stay in PJ, go to PH Auto in Sea Park to get a price quote for the Monroes...

Sounds like your car's CV joint may be wearing out... does it make any noise when you turn your wheels?
