Sorry, I don't understand what you wrote. Are you saying that the minimum contract rental is 3 months and if you stay only 2 months, you still have to pay landlord 3 months rental. Is this what you are saying?

If Ok so far, ...But the contract we will be signing is usually for one year...and as part of the contract, we shall pay the landlord a deposit of Half-a-month and if he ends the contract by the 3rd month, only 25% (i.e. 3/12) of the half-month deposit is returned to the tenant. Is my interpretation of what you wrote correct?

I asked landlord and he said if terminate in 3 mth, all the deposit will be forfeited. Deposit is one mth rental, right?

Btw, usually you guys move in to the room first before the landlord files your tenancy with HDB or the landlord must file your info with HDB prior to you moving in?

What's the whole process of the tenancy for renting a room?

1. Toilet rolls

2. Pillow

3. Bolster

4. I suppose bedsheet and Pillow/Bolster cover have to buy our own, correct?

In order for landlord to process the tenant agreement with us, what do they need from us? I haven't even got the work permit/whatever permit yet. So how to sign up the rental agreement?

Please share your experiences. In your cases, you guys already got your job permit before you sign the rental agreement?

The landlord keep asking for IPA but I don't hv that yet. He said must hv that b4 move in.

SGP public holiday so few only.

With few PHs, and not as many annual leave, must be very difficult for you guys to take long leave?? ...unless take unpaid leave.

You took one year off? Unpaid I suppose. Can meh?

And on taking long leave, I don't think only unproductive people take long leave....or that those taking long leave means they are unproductive. Sometimes there are other aspects of live you need to take care of.

I need to ask about mobile broadband.

Say now we are subscribed to a Malaysian Telco broadband. When we go to Sgp, does it still work if you turn off "data roaming"? The answer is "No" am I correct?

If it is turn on, the Msian Telco will hitch a ride on a Sgp Telco (e.g. Singtel) and then we can use the mobile internet, right? But by turning on the "roaming", is the Malaysian Telco provider going to charge us additional $$$ in our bill (whether postpaid or prepaid)?
If we subscribe to one of those "limitless data, limitless calls,sms" package, does it mean we don't need to subscribe to a Sgp Telco package?

Appreciate if someone can clarify as I don't quite understand this broadband thingy.

I went to enquire webe mobile - now offering unlimited data, call and sms, but the package would not work in Sgp - Need to pay additional RM300 deposit and RM39 per day roaming. Also, they charge RM6.36 per minute for hotspot.

If use in MSia, then okay lar....

IwanAGP- your Singtel package S$20 is how much GB data?

Umobile allow Sgp roaming only if use for 6 months? Then I am not qualified for this package.

I don't think I want to pay deposit. If I port over from Hotlink prepaid, how to prove roaming? There is no detailed Hotlink statements, just like for postpaid.

By the way, all the flights from Malaysian to Singapore will be higher by RM65 due to a new passenger tax imposed by our PM in his recent Budget 2017. Now I am so sad. Everything also increase increase......

Is it the Employment Pass ...or is it IPA?.... has to be collected by the candidate him/herself and not the company?

By the way, do you guys leave your passport and other docs in your rented room or take it with you everywhere you go out? Do you feel safe leaving it in your room? I suppose if you trust your landlord, then it's ok.
