IMO, BNM needs to raise OPR by 75bps now so that the Ringgit can stabilize and perhaps strengthen a bit.

Keeping at 2.5 to 2.75 is too low. Pandemic is tapering down, everybody is working again.
Businesses are back. Demand for goods and services are high and inflation soaring!

Already bought since Feb 1st 2022. Now paper lost of 18% including dividends. Cash flow does not look kind of healthy compared to last year's same period. FCF declined from 35.52 billion to 31.8 billion USD while cash and equivalents decline from 103.7 billion to 67.1 billion as they return 2.26 billion cash via dividends and accelerated repurchase of shared via another 4 billion.

I am worried that about the declining cash positions and the leveraged corporate structure, more so with people trading down to hypermarket own-label brands (I personally did that, and I find the savings are nearly 50%...)

FMCG stuffs aren't as inelastic as Nestle's foods anyway. People can switch from one shampoo brand to another, but Milo's flavour probably is so authentic that it's hard to replicate.

I prefer to see they take initiative to "cheat" customer by advertising their product's cost savings versus hypermarket's own "self-label" brands, but guess they run out of ammunitions as consumers are much smarter now.

They survive this quarter because of pricing of high single digits in most product lines, but you can already see elasticity kicks in with mild single digit decline in organic volume in all segments (except grooming) compared with that of Nestle. (Only NESN's Nescafe/Nespresso segment saw less than 1% organic volume decline, if memory serves, all other segments still show positive elasticity). To win back consumer's heart, more marketing expenses will surely be needed in future quarters...
