I have a curious question.

Can Malaysian citizen invest in US stock market in the year 1986 or the year 1997? For example invest in MSFT in 1986 or AMZN in 1997? Are there any Malaysian citizen who invested in US stock market in 198x or 199x? Please tell how you do it, I'm just asking this out of curiousity.

no internet or websites as we currently know them... and no official 3rd party local broker...

perhaps only the elites... fly to usa open account and trade using phone calls...

Then if your trading income is more than your main, ie full time job income, does that mean trading is your main income?

My point is since over here there has been mentioned passive income > salary, does one even declare as income per se

for tax purposes... full time job would be considered main income

trading local market... non taxable

trading overseas... taxable under FSI guidelines, when funds are remitted back into Malaysia... be form already has a section for it
