QUOTE(swiss228 @ Sep 25 2025, 11:27 PM) I only started trading US stocks in about 2021. And, it could have taken me about a year before realizing that s&p based etf is the way forward. Before that, i just take profits whenever the stocks moved up. So, if u said you have stocks that moved up 2,000%, you must have held it for a long time. A HODL stock. Is 5 yrs consider long? All this stock hold since 2020.I don't have S&P either. Those hold long are the good stock. swiss228 liked this post

Cannot blame this people either. They go through Bursa way of gambling. Cannot trust the other side to hold your money. The best is money is in your pocket. Aka cash. When trading, you're gambling with another side person and hoping your card is better than theirs. Nothing to do with the company. swiss228 liked this post

There are good stocks on bursa also that require you to buy and hold. 5 weeks ago, I mentioned on this forum that xpev posted good results, and that I am going to buy this stock. I did. My previous trading method is once it reaches 20% of my cost, I sell to lock in profits. I have decided that this method won't rake in the big bucks. Buy and hold is the way to go. I expect further gains for this stock tonight. This post has been edited by swiss228: Sep 26 2025, 10:00 AM |

It may not be a top tier US or China stock, but I have a strong feeling based on the fundamentals and the recent price action in the options market, this stock is poised to move within a month's time frame. It's just my own personal judgement, and I am putting my money on the line for tonight.I cannot say this stock is good or bad. But not a top quality stock to hold. Fyi, I just bot 100 XPEV @ $22.94 only just now. But, at 9.30pm local time, my $25 sell call option, DTE 24/10/25 was bought immediately. So, I have basically created a covered call today for XPEV. There are so many ways to skin the cat... I can disagree with putting your whole portfolio basket into big tech, but who am I to judge if you make money consistently?... If the methodology works for you, then just keep doing what you are doing... You can trade in minutes, to hours, to days, automate systems, take long and short beta-hedging positions, to taking trades that make all your profit for the year in a month's time or a week, to holding on for years, trade the news, trade the fundamentals, or trade price action, then just do it... What is important is to find what works for you... swiss228 liked this post

Estimates of those who lose money range from 70% to over 95% over the long run. High Attrition Rate: A significant percentage of day traders quit very quickly. One study found nearly 40% day trade for only one month, and only 13% continue after three years. Long-term Success is Very Low: Studies consistently show that only a small fraction—often cited as 1% to 3%—are able to predictably and consistently profit after accounting for fees and transaction costs over multiple years. learn to invest.
