So far buy and hold good quality stock is the only way for me.

Ive burn through 3 options trading account and a crypto account, all trade till it goes to zero. The big wins sort of created a euphoric sensation that developed a gambling addiction for me. So i always ring fence my addiction with a new funded account separated from my main portfolio.

Portfolio that is based on buffett and peter lynch strategy. They were the OG, i feel we have it easier now as compared to them after QE was introduced in 08. Not sure how long the party will last.

Very nice!

But, what's going on with KLCI this past decade? How do those local fund managers make money they only invest in local stocks? hmm.gif

I think I saw some figure yesterday like below expectations. Just glance at it. Not really read deep into it. Might be wrong.

Thinking to sell away my TSLA before 500. Already hit my target.

Even though klci no index gain, there are alot of cyclical sector pump and dump. Such as plantations, healthcare, tech and now construction (AI DC).

While some fund manager might rely on price discovery, i believe many that deliver alpha would have some black edge. Thats why there are so many syndicates and groups in our local market.

That will be a good news. On top of that the sales number for Q3 should benefit from the demand from the tax credit expiration, and Model Y L heated sales in China. Also, lower interest rate is another tail wind for the sales. Hopeful to see $500.

If environment remain optimum i think to stretch current valuations growth for another 24 months is possible in context of US market.

But im also planning to reduce holding by stages once they reach certain valuation milestones i have in mind. Hopefully no black swan happens before then.

We were just pointing out the fact that buy & hold is the best way to make money from the US mkts! So, why sell everything? Sure, take a break from stocks, but no need to sell all!

Not so blatant pump and dump. But rather we call it boom and bust cycle.

The company are legitimate company but some took it and goreng way pass its actual value, while some are less so like serba or sapura. But those swings up would have netted some fund manager in the know a lot of returns.

I am tempted but I dont see how the market is supported.

I look at the current market in Malaysia, China, SEA it looks really depressing. Many people are looking their job and no headcount replacement.

So I am rather reserve (again this is just my view).

Mayeblkkd Warren just keep cash now.

I sold my nvidia when it was 140 then went to 180. Vrt 145 then next day to the moon.

So yeah I am like a black sheep. Don't do what I do.

No right or wrong. Its always prudent to control risk. Its harder to recoup loses compare to chasing gains.

For Warren a 50% s&p crash would be devastating to his legacy if he is all in and fully invested at current market valuations. So his choice of focusing on few baggers while sitting on treasuries yield is correct due to his circumstance.

Local fund managers don't lose money, it's those Malaysians who buy local unit trusts that lose money + the opportunity costs. And the unit trust agents are the ones making the money... The local fund managers may be mandated by the SC to invest in local stocks. Those of us who invest in US stocks, buy and hold it, are the smart ones rclxm9.gif
Having said that, those who are long in the KLCI futures market since last month also made good money. I don't know why, but the KLCI futures is always at a discount to the cash market.
