Yeah,... I did also put into USD FD and stretched out as far as possible,... But I must also carry in my mind,... the Reinvestment Risk. When my FD matures and the US REITs and shares have all run-up,.. I'm stuck.

Thats why i prefer money market than FD..can liquidate anytime.

Yes next year 🤦‍♀️ but if the both wars accelerating during winter 🤦‍♀️ expect cuts sooner
Inflation will spike up during Winter but the current upcoming core CPI whether will factor in
That is why the next 2 CPI reading is important to see whether they will hike in Dec but he will still hawkish even if there is not a hike in Dec

When cut is not my concern,........ Everybody is ready to WIN ! But of course, I hoped my SG Bank and HSBC share prices and dividends do not drop when Feds starts cutting.

I think,... Feds is reluctant to raise already !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Let's see.

If I'm right,... I'll release the reasons for saying the above this evening.

You should be worried when your SG banks and HSBC is not performing when rates are cut 🤦‍♀️ because the business is not growing and revenue is slowing down

If you just depends on your banks to have good NIM only 🤦‍♀️ then your shares are in big trouble

I dont really care about Nov 22 to now.
I more interested in now to Nov 2024. If u can tell me the stock market return for that period I much appreciate.
Not in the game of predicting market moves so that would be a dumb question. But im not invested in the US stock market for 5% gains and so far ive been on a good run for years with Big Tech. You can either choose to listen or you can follow your own path but just avoid coming up with some excuse in 2024 when you see the market outperforming your 5% money market return.

When rates are cut, loans growth will start to take over the revenue-generating work for the banks. Secondly, fee income will also pick-up as investors start coming back into the equities scene with low interest rates for their fixed income instruments. These two sources will be able to offset the drop in net interest income.

I have bought my banks at adequately-low prices, and with low holding-prices, my safety margin will be there shld the share price retreats when rates are cut. This is also why,... I am reluctant to average UP even when I see there is so much potential for the banks to do well this year and in 2024.

Such in the above is my strategy to 'play' the banks.

As long as you are buying low and there is a buffer then you should worry less but you should see US banks now 🤦‍♀️ are even lower than earlier this year after regional bank debacle

Asian banks are much safer because their cash buffer is high and they can institute share dividends or buybacks to offset their weaker prices

It is illegal. But the legal process can be tough. The prosecutor has to prove "beyond reasonable doubt" that he intends to conceal his act of buying/selling through his own account before BRK buys/sells the same counter.

Tying to prove you want to own or do something is much more difficult than trying to prove you already own/did something.

Such is the issue with high finance...

Thats the risk Im accepting. If Im wrong, I will earn "only" 5% or so. If Im right, I will be able to buy stocks cheaper (hopefully much cheaper) than what they are now.

Just to be clear, I do have equities exposure now, only its much smaller. I didnt buy any stocks this year, only sold some. If there is a Christmas/NY rally, I likely will sell a bit more. Last time I bought any was in Sept 22, but I already started to be more defensive even earlier, when the Ukr war started.

You started getting defensive before Sept 2022 and you didnt buy any stocks this year? Wow. So you have already missed out on the massive Nasdaq tech rally for 2023 especially for Amazon, Tesla, Meta and Nvidia which have each moved up between 70-233%.

Hindsight is always 20/20.. maybe he has some 2021 high stocks?

So can we play the same book as last year? We buy nvidia this year and expect the same thing to happen next year.

I guess you are not experienced in the stock market as a long term investor eh? If you were then you wouldnt have posted that statement. Nobody invests in the stock market expecting 200% returns a year. Thats foolish.

Inflation cooled. Bulls come out to play and bear will retreat after this print.

Not sure how long will this bull euphoria sustained.
