There is rumor said that Ultraman Mebius will be the last Ultraman series. Tsuburaya had stopped for new series due to low audience response in Japan.

Not suprising. ultraman have yet to reinvent the series for so many years now. if you compare ultraman to kamen rider and power ranger series, you can see an evolution- production quality changes, storyline is different with every series, even the fight scenes are better.

The Ultraman Mebius movie can be bought at Speedy.. both english and malay version is available. Six classic characters make a comeback like the sample pic above. Very nice and extremely entertaining!!! Funny, it seems more in tune when you watch it in malay.. tried watching it in english but no kick.. I guess since were kids.. it has always been in malay.. so the liking can only accept the malay version..

Mebius DVD full set? Hang on.. I believe the japanese are releasing a full new series of Mebius with lots of special appearance from the classic characters! I saw the dvd's in a japanese magazine but not sure if they are selling international.. this is the series you should be eyeing for.. of course they have the normal Mebius series but not too sure if its available here!

The monster are sold separately, as of now.. only series 2 just came out. Try looking for BANDAI Ultimate Monsters in the internet, than you will see em. Quite good quality, but sadly, the monster are produced at random from all series. If you like a particular monster you have to wait for it to come out or get them from the existing series if its there.

I stop watching Ultraman after Gaia, some of the series after that feature Ultraman fighting against Ultraman storyline, very much like Kamen Rider. I only watched bits of Nexus and Mobius on Youtube. The Ultraman designs are quite normal, but the monsters' designs are way better than the old ones

I love Ultraman ever since I 1st saw them on tv. Love the monsters too. And thanks to the all the toy shops that brings in Ultraman toys, I've managed to get hold of some of the Ultramen toys which are only sold in Japan and the rest of the world. At times, I wished I was born a Japanese!! Then my parents would have raised me in Japan and I would have bought almost everything which are not found anywhere else.
Recently I bought the Ultraman from the Gasha Vending Machine. Now I'm trying to complete the set. I'm missing Nexus. I have some extras for trade. I'm also looking for Ultraman 80 & Tsurugi (from Nexus series) that spot the same pose. Love to hear from you guys.

Whoa.. theres a lot of ultraman in your collection!!! I have the same collection too but not all of them, just the ones from the 70's and 80's. The ones I like. I dont follow the new ultraman except Mebius. Thats because there are a lot of guest appearance by the classic ultramans in his series.. if you watch episode 40 and above from the Mebius series.. you will see all of them including the human who plays the old heroes!! One of the best yet..

Try and look for it Ultraman Mebius Episode 1-50. They sell it on DVD now.

Yeah.... The original M-78 Ultra brothers were the coolest. Never got bored of watching them. What u see is only a fraction of the Ultra collection that I have. Used to buy big ones but it took much of space. Now, just buying the small ones - the HGs are kinda cool.

I've always liked the Ultraman series, back since Ultraman Ace and the animated Jonias. Wasnt old enough to catch the original Ultraman and Ultraseven. Recently watch Ultraman Mebius & the Ultra Brothers; awesome movie for sure though the GUYS peeps are just there for the cameo....

Ultraseven X is...err.. a bit Weird it's trying so hard to be in that mysterious X-file-ish mixed with Blade Runner kinda atmosphere. Would have worked well if not for the fact that:
1. the music used is inadequate and therefore repetitive,
2. the opening 'scene/story-setting' scenes are almost always of the same pattern (a person running away in the night, followed by aliens, then murdered or such).
3. the DEUS agents modus operandi are kinda small-scale for such an important job (kinda like MIB, except that they dont have cool, large HQ to lepak in, haha)
4. Ultraseven's fight are kept to the VERY minimum.. realistic yes; but not what you'd expect from an Ultra series

overall, a refreshing change from the typical Ultra series,... BUT only up until the first few episodes; the show tends to get repetitive in terms of story pattern. just my humble opinion

Recently bought MegaHouse Actionworks series of Zoffy and Mebius











Pros:
1. GREAT articulations! Probably the best among the Ultraman toys around!
2. Precise and accurate paint scheme.
3. Comes with 3 sets of hands (clenched fist, open palm for the ray attack, and normal relaxed hands)
4. Comes with two inscale ships.

Cons:
1. Wayyyy too small (less than 12 cm tall)
2. Some parts are too loose, but not that bad. Caution: keep AWAY from small kids.
3. So far only Mebius & Zoffy are in this toy line would like to have the whole series

hmmm if their joint not that obvious i confirm buy

How much do they cost? Ah.. it brings back memories

around RM80-90 i think...

ohya, forgot to mention another CON for these figures: their joints shows, cant be avoided for such small figures i guess, but they could have at least paint the joints to match.

bought from XL-shop for RM95 each. Online eBay price is about RM6+, but when u take into account the shipping cost, ends up at RM9+ also. haha.
Retail in Japan is about 2200 yen.

wish they were bigger though. but if more of the Actionworks series comes out for the other Ultras, im definetly getting them

Just watched Ultraman The Next! seriously it's the BEST attempt at a realistic Ultraman story. Forget Ultraseven X, this Ultraman The Next movie is WAYYYYY better and more realistic, yet still have plenty of battle action not sure about the Ultraman Nexus spinoff series though..

Why is this thread is so quiet. Ultraman fans should make the most out of this thread. I'm always a big fan of Ultraman. Keep buying toys related to Ultraman. Now out of all the many things that I'm collecting, I think Ultraman fills most part of my house. Started to watch Ultraman again when I saw Gaia. The relationship that he had with Agul was something different. Don't quite like Agul V1 but V2 was cool. Nexus series was good but I (personally) think Max was so-so. Mebius is something else. I'm kinda attracted to Ultraman Hikari Night Hunter Tsurugi. There's a lot of similarities with Agul. What do you guys think?

Hi there ya, not much news concerning Ultraman collectibles here.... not sure if this is true, but it seems that due to licensing issue between Tsuburaya and Chaiyo Tsuburaya Thailand, selling of Ultraman toys in Malaysia and Singapore are limited (i think its in wiki somewhere)... why oh why!!!

I agree that Max is kinda childish (especially with that not-so-robotic looking robot girl in the HQ, and that stupid rotating sphere on the computer console, haha).. but Max's design is nice, almost like an updated Ultraseven

But if u r looking for the small ones (approx. 8-9cm in height), I think I saw it at a toy shop in Jalan Klang Lama - forgot the name of the place. Something Plaza. I'll get back to you on that. Here's an attachment of the Next Junis I'm refering to. It's the middle shelf, far left behind the other Ultras.

Just before I came to office this morning, snapped this. It's a rush job but snapping the pix at night is almost impossible. Forgive me cos it's not very clear, but I hope it's clear enough for u Ultraman Nexus out there. Bought this at XL Shop a few years back when they had a shop that place near Petaling Street just beside Kotaraya.
I'll post more of my favourite Ultraman ceramics statue soon. Just wanna make this thread alive. It's a pity that one of the oldest character in the country has lost it's lustre... sigh...

Ive always wondered why are MOST of the Ultraman figures out there feature VERY limited articulation? at most u'd only have shoulder and waist articulations why cant they make Ultraman figures like those typical Star Wars 6 inch articulated ones? *sigh*

i think as of now, only few of the Ultra toys have decent to great articulation (from ActionWorks, Hyper Hero, Bandai Action Hero, RAH, and the Ultrachogokin) ..

want to buy more of the Ultra figures, but im fussy when it comes to articulations, hahaha

Yeah, I know what u mean. I kinda like the fully poseable toys but sometimes, the 'too-many-articulations' spoils the toys. Not too smooth. That's why my preference wld always be the statue. I have the Ultraman B & C versions. The Ultraman B version (picture attached) is 45cm tall and the B version is about 30cm. I cld b looking at these 2 statues & never get bored with it.

I agree with you that it is surprising that Ultraman love is not much here in LYN forum. Ultraman was practically THE HERO of the 80s (apart from Optimus Prime )

Currently watching Ultraman Nexus and id have to say its the best Ultra TV series so far Love the tragic twist behind each Deunamist chosen by the light to be Ultraman ; Great Drama!

Yeah, I know what u mean. Saw Nexus last year and I dare say this is one of the best effort they've put in an Ultraman before. It's different, darker, more realistic and oh... the drama have u finished watching all the series? If u hav not, the grand finale is nothing short of the word awesome!!!!

Not yet bro at episode 33 now, and the story is really SOLID kudos to the people behind the Ultraman 'N' Project!!

My admittedly small Ultra collection so far:


Pros:
1. Taller than the Actionworks series; about 6.5 inches.
2. Posable; with 13 articulation points!
3. Nice paint apps.
4. Sound feature is not bad.

Cons:
1. Could have featured light up eyes and colour timer..
2. Hands fixed in fist pose, no open palm pose to recreate the famous cross ray scenes

yeah i hope their eyes are transparent.....then i will get them withought doubt....dyna proprtion looks good......saw gaia and agul too .....thinking to get but the eyes...
