Anyone facing problem to pay TNB bill using UOBpayonline? I got an error saying temporary out of service to pay TNB bill.

Guys, im in the midst of applying CC which I'm keen to use for my Taobao purchase mainly. I spend more than RM1000 monthly on Taobao purchases. As of now, im paying via Maybank2u and it charges me 1.5% of transaction value. I came across UOB VOX card and it seems like a good card for online purchases with 5% cashback.

My main concern are, is there any other charges imposed on my taobao purchase(like the 1.5% service charge when paying via Maybank2u)?Is there any circumstances whereby Taobao purchases not granted cashback by UOB? How about exchange rate?

Sorry if these questions are repeated, tried searching but couldn't get the exact solid answer i was hoping for.

Before you login to UOBPayOnline, you will see the notice about TNB. It will resumed on 20th.

It will have exchange rate and service charge but the cash back will make you earn. All credit cards will have service charge and follow exchange rate.

First post did mention that Taobao is entitled for cash back. I tried and got it myself.

hey , taobao charges 3% transaction charges for CC and banks usually charge 1% foreign transaction fee. might be worth it if u get 5% CB from UOB.
For me, I never used CC for taobao since an incident with standard chartered last time. Have no idea who (SCB or Alipay) double charged me twice (a few hundreds) and i was running to SCB HQ and talking to alipay's CS and spamming SCB shitty customer service for a freaking dispute and meeting some really stupid CS supervisors. After a few months and A LOT OF Hassle , i finally got it back. From that onwards, never used CC for taobao anymore.
and at least maybank2u direct debit gives u a peace of mind as they would show u the exchange rates when u pay. my experience is that it's usually lower. and its easier for taobao to refund u, as the money will go straight into ur maybank account and not go through ur CC.

if my transaction date is 29th june and posting date is 1th july, the cash back is counted as June or July quota?

Rightfully should be transaction date because in your statement, it only shows transaction date. However, there are cases reported here that there was missing cash back and need to raise a dispute. So, just a piece of advice if possible try avoiding to make any transactions at the last few days of the month.

anyone make payment to MPKJ (cukai taksiran) via posonline before? plan to use VOX to pay
I tried to register the account number but returned with "invalid account number"

tried to remove '-' from account but didnt help, may be it only accept numeric account number?

my taksiran Account number was like the structure of
99X9999X999­-9999999

9 - > number
X -> Alphabet

mpkj is Majlis Perbandaran Kajang?

last time i help my friend to pay Cukai Taksiran @ Majlis Perbandaran Kajang (MPKj) portal, using CIMB CR. eligible for cashback. i guess should be safe for UOB VOX too.

UOB VOX may not be entitled because it is government site related. So far myEG and LHDN are not entitled already.

UOB currently having promotion code for 20% off for Zalora purchase above RM90.
Do I still get Shopback CB, if buy from Zalora through Shopback using this code from UOB (this code is not mentioned in Shopback)?

Shopback T&Cs said "may" not get (meaning it is not absolute "not getting" CB).
Anyone tried b4? If no Shopback CB, I skip the hassle to register with Shopback.

The thing is, what is the harm of trying through shopback?
Worse case, you have nothing to lose.
Good case, you earn cashback.

Please help,I own two credit card which is Platinum and Infinite.However the point stated on my statement is combined. I would like to redeem the Enrich miles, the question is which exchange rate I have to base on ?Platinum or Infinite?

Does CIMB mentioned they dont give cash back for government related item?
VOX already stated in TnC and somemore the site is .gov, i think the chance is low

Update:
I am able to register the bill by 'typing' the number one by one. I was copy and paste from the MPKJ statement pdf previously, maybe the encoding type was different and not acceptable by posonline

will pay and update if i able to get cashback.

It's a good card if you know how to utilize it.
