How about the free basic internet? Right now I am not subscribing to any internet plans so is my power prepaid consuming up my 2Gb free basic internet? Also do I get the free basic internet every month?
*
free basic internet only available while u maintain Active
the free high speed 1gb monthly as well, u may enjoy it as long as u are active ( means u have to top up 30 to keep active for a month tongue.gif )

If I still have left over prepaid balance around RM200, then I convert to postpaid plan, can I bring over the RM200 prepaid credit?

Open letter to umobile

First of all, I would like to thank you Ms Jasmine CMO of umoble for inviting me to your fancy dinner at Dion, which in your word the lucky few aka special ones.

Your presentation of your latest offering could revolutionize the mobile industry & I do believe so.

But..... A big 'but'...... Today I finally encounter the problem other umobile user face & experience it 1st hand.

Umobile have this sickness call 'brain work too fast till the hand & leg couldn't keep up'... Aka management want to do this, implement that ....till your frontliner & the system couldn't keep up....

Why so you may ask.... Let me break down it in pieces so you could digest it properly....

1. Your latest offering on data roaming, for hero p70 & above, could enjoy free data roaming in 12(or 15? Can't remember) different country using our allocated quota, with no extra charges. Yesterday you also encourage us to upgrade... Or downgrade (jokingly said) with no contract obligations on the spot... Well, sound too good to be true.... Cos for me who travel alot & usually I'll buy local sim for data or call usage, is a convenience... To make sure i get everything right, i drop by to one of your branch in 1utama today around 1630, to check if my roaming activated. To my surprise, your rude, unfriendly & tired looking front desk gentlemen told me i not entitled for data roaming, and when i ask why, he said the system say so. Wth!
I ask again how could this be, i said p70 supposed to have roaming ready & maybe just need to active it. Your rude & tired looking gentleman tell me, 'only auto debit user entitle for it, and if u want pay 200 deposit lo'. Wth!
I was very very unhappy with your frontliner attitude.

2. Then i call your catchy hotline number, a girl spoke in bahasa while my selection in English, answer it, anyway i let it pass.... I tols her about my enquiry, she request for verification.... Ask for my mobile number, my full name, my IC number.... And then my address, i reply as per request.... To my surprise (again), she told me my address incorrect ask to reconfirm again, and i told her the same, she said incorrect.... I tell her its impossible to be incorrect, IT'S BECAUSE UMOBILE DILIGENTLY WITHOUT FAIL SUCCESSFULLY DELIVERED THEIR MONTHLY BILL TO MY HOME! every single month! How could your system have incorrect address? Its not that i move my home last weekend, AND I STILL STAY ON THE SAME PLACE FOR ALMOST 7 YEARS!...
Because of this your lady reject my request to ask about my roaming status, until I've to be very piss off then she reluctantly tell me the issue.... She say my number only valid in system since may 2016.... I said what! She repeat that my p70 only activated since may, only those active more than 6 months entitled for roaming. Wth!

Unbelievable,..... Really unbelievable
For your info i with umobile more than 3 years, you may check when i mnp my number from digi to umobile.... That's how long i with you guys. From what your lady said, mean umobile do not appreciate people who stay long with you but change package halfway, only reward those in package. Its you guy who sell this in all your marketing materials that there are not contract restrictions, and we as consumer can change whatever plan in umobile as long with u guys. What i did in may is upgrade from u28 to p70.... I DID A BLOODY UPGRADE FOR YOU GUYS, AND THIS I BEEN REPAID FOR MY LOYALTY?

If those people who just port from other telco because your misleading offer, only found out this, how are they going to use the service in short time! The funny thing is my other umobile perpaid doesn't need to activate, its automatically switch upon touchdown in foreign country. Wth!

Prepaid user more valuable from postpaid user is it?

to hell with your marketing gimmick! What uspecial category, u can bloody keep it.... You just do what maxis done in early 2016, drove people away from them..... And now with mnp, loyalty means nothing to me.

Communication is very important for my business dealing, me too represent my company handling hundreds millions of sales annually like you. I'll go for those help my career growth, not destroy it for me. If i did not check, before my flights, it might really happened, and I'll make you accountable for it.

I already pass my number to you, you may check how many other numbers under my name, and i can ensure you I'll bring all together with me if my problem not solved on coming monday 8a.m.

I believe i not the only one facing this issue. Those who experience the same, or similar may like my post to prove to umobile how many has been disappointed by your company promises & actions.

Who am i?
The only guy that night win twice.

'Only customer who cares complain,
Those who don't, doesn't.'

Because telco are running a business. If user were allowed to top up huge amount under prepaid, benefit from validity and freebies, then spend the money all over again a second time after converting to postpaid, how to make profit?

yes, the free 2gb will be deducted after consume fast 1gb and umi data

if you used up all the 2gb, data service will be barred until umi renewal or reset of free data

so, the u in umi is no longer strictly unlimited for power user

You mentioned you have been with U Mobile for 3 years. Have you always been a postpaid user all this while or you were on prepaid and only recently changed to postpaid ?

FYI, this is not unique to U Mobile. DiGi and Celcom also have similar policy. I have been with DiGi forever since year 2004 but in 2010 i changed my line to DiGi Postpaid. Because the postpaid account is new so i had to pay DiGi RM300 to enable my roaming service. If my memory serves me correctly, DiGi will gladly enable roaming service if your postpaid account has been active for more than 3 months without having you to pay the RM300 deposit. Maxis Postpaid is the only that enables roaming service even if your account is still new, as far as i know.

QUOTE(davwon @ Aug 27 2016, 10:43 PM)

*
It's something akin to building a credit history. The telco doesn't know you well and postpaid line comes with a credit limit. Even though your monthly commitment is only RM70 your credit limit could be something like RM300 or more. The reason why they do not enable roaming for postpaid line by default is because they are afraid you will dry up your credit limit very fast while on roaming and then don't pay. That is why if your postpaid account is still new they need you to pay a deposit to enable roaming service.

Roaming service is automatically enabled for prepaid because you can use up to what you have in your prepaid account. There is no worry about people refusing to pay for roaming charges later on.

Maxis allows Hotlink users to carry over up to RM1,000 from their Hotlink account to Maxis postpaid.
