I kena hit and run on bike too
Luckily that time did not sustain serious injuries, but my bike cost alot to fix. That time no one managed to get the driver details, I got no video camera. Now I have one at least to use, very helpful and useful. It left scars on me. On my skin, look bad, but at least remind me to ride safe. But most important of all, ride safe, stay safe! |

Please do not post threats to the alleged driver, especially threats of physical bodily harm which is illegal even in text/ verbal form. No one wants violent mob justice here.

aiyooooooh... helmets dont make ur skull invincible la... at most they minimize the damage as much as possible.
considering his injuries, the hit must have been really hard...hard enough to knock him unconscious, break a rib and cause a fracture on the skull. |

Thanks for the kind words /sentiments guys, really appreciate it.
Like many have said, I didn't even know what hit me. Woke up and I'm already in the hospital and before that, Zulfahmi on the WSSP and me leaving sepang going through terrible jam on the way back. Sorry to disappoint as well as I didn't bring my video camera hence no recording made. Besides I was apparently hit behind so I don't think much can be captured even if I did record Thanks also for the investigation however try to keep it civil /no vigilante ya. I just want to claim the car 's insurance but apparently uninsured |

You can opt to files an injury and vehicle damage claims through your lawyers or claim your own insurance and your insurance will engage the owners in court.Like many have said, I didn't even know what hit me. QUOTE(Velocity @ May 20 2016, 09:00 AM) i seldom think its other people fault from my experience driving on highway everyday bigger the bike the more dangerous they ride so if accident mostly they deserve it. Yes, most biker don't follow rules (same go to driver), but it doesn't means they deserve it, i'm biker and driver, just aware of ur capability and responsibility ....... else no one can help you.i never seen a rider that ride slowly at speed limit in my life except max i see them 5 seconds zig zag along highway when accident rider never do any wrong hahahahahahhaa. these days we need to watch out motorider not motorider watch out of motorist but bang motorist fault haha. Sadly its their own fault. I lost some friend in riding and driving, that ain't a good memory ...... btw finger pointing is not the right thing to do at this moment .. |

Sorry for the late reply/update guys .
And huge thanks for the kind words /sentiments/concerns , especially to those who visited me personally, really appreciate it To update on my injuries sustained : - Minor face fracture - skull (behind) fracture - Neck fracture - Right rib fracture - Sternum fracture - Shoulder blade fractures Latest CT scan found additional fractures to the spine. Surgery TBC monday by dr. Tan, spinal surgeon Fracture found at t2-5 (upper sections of the spine), major problem is at t3, t4 where the fracture is slightly pressing against the spinal cord, but so far absolutely no symptoms of spinal cord damage (limbs no weakness or numbness) The surgery basically involve metal screws and rods to stabilize my upper spinal column to facilitate quicker recovery. Surgery failure would mean possibly death (as that segment controls my breathing /heart) and /or paralysis of my entire lower body. On a side note both of the below are directly injected into my blood stream : This was originally available, at 5 minutes cooldown on demand. Dosage per usage increased twice throughout my stay. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fentanyl This is added after my CT scan, on a constant dosage, and dosage increased once : https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ketamine |

Dosage per usage increased twice throughout my stay. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fentanyl This is added after my CT scan, on a constant dosage, and dosage increased once : https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ketamine All the best and Get well soon man |

QUOTE(Quazacolt @ May 22 2016, 11:41 PM) Sorry for the late reply/update guys . Semoga sembuh cepat bro.And huge thanks for the kind words /sentiments/concerns , especially to those who visited me personally, really appreciate it To update on my injuries sustained : - Minor face fracture - skull (behind) fracture - Neck fracture - Right rib fracture - Sternum fracture - Shoulder blade fractures Latest CT scan found additional fractures to the spine. Dosage per usage increased twice throughout my stay. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fentanyl This is added after my CT scan, on a constant dosage, and dosage increased once : https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ketamine Kalau aku jumpa mamat tu, Insya-Allah aku tabuh. Kalau tak mampu tabuh, pancitkan tayar atau calarkan kereta dia pun jadilah. |

Copy paste
Dearest friends /family /forumers/associates/relatives: Surgery performed on 8 am Friday 27 may 2016 and after more than 4 hours it was successfully completed around 12 noon. It was originally scheduled for around 10 pm (I was already on incubation anesthetic since then) on Thursday 26 may however had complication and to avoid risk it was postponed to Friday morning instead. I only regained consciousness around 5-6am on Saturday morning 28 may. I only gotten my phone on Sunday late evening few hours ago on 29 may 2016 so yeah it's going to take a while to update /reply to everyone. As a quick/simple summary: The surgery basically involved permanently implanting 8 screws and 2 rods on to the t2-t6 segments of my spinal cord and yes I will have difficulty passing metal detection checkpoints lol. |

rethinking about "riding to Sepang" or "just ride at Sepang"? get a pick up or what to take the bike for ride, safely without traffic. |

update on my R25:
almost nothing dmg. missing headlamp back cover, i guess someone just telling me to cough up or claim that rm600+ whole headlamp unit replacement lol. frame slider and front wheel slider, bar end took most of the damage, protected the bike. just need to replace the wheel slider/frame slider. signal lamp also loosened again. this time i still got my rear brake hahaha, bracket didn't broke again. all in all, bike is fine. tried to straighten it but failed, so had to suffer some cold start i guess? started up without issue, battery still healthy, all instruments/lights (except for one signal lamp) all fine. brakes all ok, wheels seem not misaligned/unbalanced. off it, had to get mom together with myself repark the bike a bit since they almost had the bike stuck to the wall and the rubbers seemed to get stuck on the floor :/ check engine oil level all fine, this time i got on it, easier to straighten the bike, start up again all fine, warmed up the bike, get it first gear and move a bit/neutral etc. and some red lines, everything seemed the same without issues. i jealous of the bike getting out of it almost without issue lol. and it's frustrating that i can barely handle my own 70 ish kilos, and then facing 160 kilos, it was just really hard. |

update on follow up police report (yes they require the victim to personally report)
- sergeant sent a letter to the offender to make their side of report - 2 months and was ignored, sergeant going to send second letter soon - registered letter so impossible that it didn't reach; only thing them being foreigners, the contents are in BM so they may just be ignorant. still, being in Malaysia, should just get someone else to translate and no excuse ignoring something from police. - looking up lawyer candidates for lawsuit, only way to bring some form of justice |

Highway without bike lane is not safe for motorcycle, and motorcycle not supposed to use the middle and fast lane of a highway. Flesh vs metal who will win? Better ride slowly and safely next time.

QUOTE(Quazacolt @ Jul 15 2016, 03:48 AM) Regardless of my experience of riding any type bike, it is common sense that riding a motorcycle is risker on the highway without bike lane, especially those superbikes who like to illegally overtake in between lanes and increase the chance of getting hit. Risk significantly overshadow reward. So until riders learn to ride like a car on highway and be treated by other cars as equal, it is in the best interest to riders and drivers alike and ban all motorcycles from riding on non-bike-laned highways for the sake of saving many lives and post accident hardship of both motorcycle riders and drivers. This post has been edited by RicoT: Jul 15 2016, 08:46 AM |

First of all, did you know that lane splitting is NOT ILLEGAL? And your logic is currently 404. You're saying because some bikers don't know how to ride properly, all of them should be banned from the highway? So car L and P license people also cause alot of accidents, so all car drivers can't be on the highway lor. Then the highway is for the cows only la like that. |

Harsh truth but this is one way to improve the current situation. Even car on car also have some pretty nasty accidents let alone bike on car. There is no real way of preventing it because one bad apple will drag the entire community down. The mentality of people who live for speed is not always something normal road users can fathom let alone live it. There is always the solution to ask them to go track, but the streets is the streets and it is a different thing. Whether bike lanes have or will impact the safety of motorcyclists or not. That i have no straight answer. Sometimes you see even motorcyclists riding out on the road with cars when there is evidently motorcycle lanes. Not to mention having someone keep to a rather narrow lane on long expressways is an extremely hard thing to do no matter what speed they are doing. At the end of the day, car drivers can only tell motorcyclists bad luck they did not choose a car when shit happens. But, running away is totally another crappy deal. |

QUOTE(amon_meiz @ Jul 15 2016, 05:13 PM) Why cant car stop from hitting people /bike? Bro, I believe that majority of people driving and riding are realistic and does not have GTA mindset. I drive a car too. But i dont have that homicide urge pun What u talking brah? Bike lane? Not all highway have bike lane So?how? No one sane purposely hit other vehicles. But accidents do happen and it's impossible to fully eliminate. What he is trying to say is just that riders should ride more carefully to further minimise risk of accidents coz they get hurt more in accidents. Of course, drivers also need to be more alert of riders, but sometimes it's really hard to do that especially with those kaki cilok riders. You think the reason more accidents involve bikes and cars compared to cars banging into cars is because drivers purposely aim at bikers to bang them ke? It's not that bro... Its because some bikers do ride in a super high risk manner. Lane filtering on high speed in a super tight gap between two car, high speed lane switching between cars. The risk of getting into accidents is just high when doing this kinda stunts. Since you also drive and ride, I bet you know what I mean, people who been at both sides knows that when driving they need to be more aware of bikes and when riding to do overly risky overtakes and filtering. Problem is usually those full on drivers and riders. Both also think the road is theirs. Drivers think they don't need to bother about bikes since they pay more road tax tol etc. Riders think they can ride however they want and drivers need to always be on the extra lookout for them. Heck just 2 days ago I was driving and there was a bike tailgating right behind me waiting for chance to filter while on a small packed road which was moving around 60 km. Then suddenly car in front emergency brake coz another bike lane filtered and cut in front of him then I had to emergency brake and the bike behind me almost hit me but luckily he manage to swerve a bit and avoid hitting my back, best part is he then overtook me, honk and punched my front mirror when he passed. Luckily nothing break or cracking...and I was totally pissed like wtfff man even if accident happen it's his damn fault for tailgating so near knowing damn well that bikes can't break as fast as cars. If you're talking bout superbikes, lagi gempak flying on Highway at 260 kmh cilok sana sini, even slightest thing go wrong and things can get ugly. Maybe I only ride kapcai and never ride superbikes before so those big bikers will say I tak tau la but I really cannot fathom riding or even driving at high speeds and expect everything to be safe and fine. Don't need to jump and go crazy over his statements although suggesting all bikes off highways maybe a bit drastic for Malaysia but there is such a rule in other countries, for example Philippines. |

QUOTE(amon_meiz @ Jul 15 2016, 05:13 PM) Why cant car stop from hitting people /bike? What you are try to say also applies to why can't people stop from falling down? It can't be prevented if motorcycles are on the road. So long you are walking, you will fall down at some point. But in the case of motorcycles vs cars, who get the worse losing end?I drive a car too. But i dont have that homicide urge pun What u talking brah? Bike lane? Not all highway have bike lane So?how? It is because not all highway are design for motorcycle to use, and those having one are not well maintained and monitored as it is not paid for by the users, i.e. motorcyclists. When motorcyclist start paying toll, future highways operators will see the operation feasibility of including bike lanes in future highway designs. Else, they can either (a) ride slowly and extra careful on bad bike lanes, or (b) risk their limbs and lives riding on car lane highways. QUOTE(Quazacolt @ Jul 15 2016, 05:42 PM) Your current state is what I dreaded and currently, I feel it is not worth the hassle, pain, suffering, etc. to get a motorcycle, just for the fun of owning one. The reward is just not worth the risk.QUOTE(nm7 @ Jul 15 2016, 05:55 PM) I don't know who is wrong and who is right la in that case. But, whatever happen happened. A proper bike lane definitely will improve the safety of motorcyclists, and to get a proper bike lane is to start paying toll. Getting motorcycles off the car lanes and into bike lanes on highway. Your last statement also applies to motorcyclists riding fast between cars and knock off the side mirror and speeding away. If the injury to rider is not serious, the rider will run away, then car owners will only suffer economical loss, no big deal. But what if the injury is serious, broken bones, he can kiss his MC, EL, income good bye and even be suffering the consequences for the rest of his life.Even car on car also have some pretty nasty accidents let alone bike on car. Let cars deal with these crazy drivers. For that Audi, if the driver whack a car, where can he run? His engine is totaled or he might go turtle. So again my advice to bikers, please don't ride on car lanes, the reward is not worth your limbs and lives. |

Jacket and inner wear completely cut open to rescue me The helmet itself Can try zooming in. Hope the phone managed to capture it. But yes, real carbon fiber. And the money shot that everyone's probably curious about - can i reuse back this helmet (personally, no) Thanks shark speed r helmet for protecting my head and the jacket for reducing the damage as much as possible, particularly my unhurt arms. |
