Mid day report-

Visited 2 banks-

1st bank
1st transaction- a bit of ASM, no ASW

2nd transaction- a bit of ASW & 10k of ASM.

(1 elderly customer managed to get a bit of everything also and her 2nd try, she got AS1M- 5 digits. She waited at the bank the whole am.)

2nd bank- I went in with the elderly lady to try our luck there but had a HORRIBLE encounter with the CIMB bank's manager. Anyway, I went up to the teller and try my luck- ZERO transaction. Once completed, I thank the lady teller for all her helps in helping with my ASX transactions and walked out, withdraw from ATM & did IBG transfer out from bank & leave minimal amount in the account upon advice from another banker.
Called up Customer service to complaint about the bank's manager attitude & will not do any future transactions with them. (Sorry!  :topic:)

What did the manager do?

Blaming my multiple ASX transactions for the bank's imbalance. Auntie twinkle
*
Imbalance? You mean like they don't retain enough deposits/capital in their branch after you moved your deposit out to ASX?

Nope. Probably one of the tellers made a mistake. At the end of the day, their in/ out are not tally. I've been sending funds via instant IBG from HLB to CIMB for ASx transactions. Sometimes, if big amount, I'll deduct from my account. For small transaction, I just gave them cash. I'm sure the teller checked and double checked whatever amount I gave her, big/ small.

I guess he's stressed out by the error. But that doesn't give him/her the right to blame customers. Manager some more.

I can understand. I'm also like public enemy no.1 by repeating visits

But my area CIMB more accomodating than the other banks

They probably give you that "Not you again" look. I don't know whether teller get extra KPI when they handle more ASNB trx. If so, no need to sour face I guess. Otherwise, I guess they will sour face as ASX transaction seem to give them more work and people say the new system is slow.

Last time the more fussy teller tell me, try once only. Then after I ask him to try again she said "Last time ya? No more after this." "Okay, got x amount. Very lucky already (don't try anymore). Other people whole day no unit."

Just a gentle reminder to all

below happened in Kota Kinabalu --
http://dailyexpress.com.my/news.cfm?NewsID=110066
Published on: Wednesday, May 25, 2016

Kota Kinabalu:

A 60-year-old woman who just retired from the civil service will not be able to enjoy her hard-earned pension money of RM100,000 – she was robbed in broad daylight by two men at the traffic lights opposite Wawasan Plaza, here, Tuesday.
The victim withdrew all the cash from a bank at Api-Api Centre at about 9.20am and intended to invest all in the Amanah Saham Bumiputra (ASB) when the robbers struck 30 minutes later.
Speaking to Daily Express here on the same day, the victim said all the money was kept in a big envelope placed inside her handbag which she put on the car floor.
Upon reaching the traffic lights on the second lane from the right, she was shocked when a man smashed her left car window with a sharp object before grabbing her handbag.
She tried to stop the robber until some cash fell on the road but failed. She sustained wounds on her thumbs and index finger in the process.
The robber and his accomplice fled with the envelope containing her money on a motorcycle.
She also hit the rear of a Honda car in front of her Perodua Kembara in the incident.
To her disappointment, other motorists who witnessed the incident did not even bother to help her.

Last time the security guard at ASNB don't have gun when I observed. Just like a shopping mall guard. Means ASNB is risk to be robbed too?

Anymore hunting results for today?

Btw, just noticed the new subscription form is in like a receipt book now. If you want, they will tear off 1 copy for you.

Yes, that is right. Dark blue font. Old one is light blue.
Yours in separate sheets taken from the bank?
I saw it's all glued together like a receipt book. They tear off 1 piece for you when requested. No more putting whole stack on the table.

This version is better than old one. Font bigger easier to see. Darker colour too. Paper is thicker. Also write phone number in case something went wrong they can call you.

Pesta Menuai and school holiday will many people withdraw?

Btw, is the native in Sabah & Sarawak like Dayaks or Kadazan can apply ASB or not? Then if they buy AS1M, they are taking the bumi quota?

Just thinking if I have 500,000 in ASX then will get around 2000 per month for monthly use (dividend split out). Maybe then I can retire.

But I think many of you probably achieved these mark already. As I read that time about some topping up few hundred Ks each time. eeks..

Sorry a bit OT. hehe.

If you work in Singapore earning SGD, will you bring back your money and invest in ASX? I heard FD rate in Singapore around 2%?

All this buying of Amanah Saham...

Past records so far so good. With things not looking bright at the moment, is there any possibility the dividend will go lower than 6%?

If you see in the EPF thread, there has started considerations based on today's news article...
*
Lower than 5 I think many people will panic and mass withdrawal? Hmm... Because it never go below 6 in 20-30 years since it started.

For bank hunting, also advised to avoid Monday and Friday like ASNB? Or doesn't matter.

This friend of mine told me that when he tried to sell off all his units, PNB didn't allow his straight one shot dispose all...in stages...

Anyone else experienced this?  :hmm:
*
Maybe not enough cash? If bank, I think can withdraw all - direct transfer to your account.

Also about the ASNB counter staff as mentioned they can "see" the units available, are they mostly willing to tell if you ask or is it more like only for their own reference?

My previous encounter with ASNB staff, they'll ask you how much you want and if they see units available, they will try. They also said, the units can disappear as fast as it appears as other branches are also trying to buy at same time.
*
I see. Well this seems like "better" way than than agents who "tembak" blindly. This is see got target, then "tembak". hehe

Agent must key in and 'tembak' and then 'error page' appeared, that's mean no units. If little screen comes out, you're successful.

Avoid ASNB this 2 weeks school holiday as place will be super packed.
*
ASNB don't seem very keen to spend money on their infrastructure. Each state I see have only 1 (2 max) branch. And some branch is quite cramped inside.

ASNB have more than 10 counters to serve as compared to 1 or 2 counters in Banks
*
But still the queue very long. Need at least 1 hr to wait for your turn from some reports.
It maybe few minutes is your turn if not too many customers at the bank.
