QUOTE(Ramjade @ Jul 8 2016, 11:11 PM) Only rm300 for asw. QUOTE(winyap991 @ Jul 9 2016, 12:22 AM) QUOTE(guy3288 @ Jul 9 2016, 12:39 AM) i see alot of you guys are still buying continuously, Auntie twinkle stopped last month. My ratios ASM> ASW> AS1M now. Will adjust to ASM=ASW > AS1M later. i have stopped for more than a month now. target exceeded, 1 yr ago was ASM:AS1M:ASW 45:37:18, now 34:26:40. More difficult to buy must be better right? I lowered my ASW contribution earlier as $$ was stuck in FDs until this month and total value of combined accounts are beyond my intended target. |

Will try early morning tomorrow. If cannot, i will put my money in FD or unit trust in the afternoon Avoid Mon & Fri as it's the busiest day. I'd already expected today to be busy due to post holiday. Don't go too early to ASNB as majority ASNB sellers will go to banks. Majority Banks opening hrs 0915. |

Hello everyone- SHARING time:-
Finally brought my nephew to open ASNB accounts today. He was supposed to take 1/2 day off only but at the end he had to take full day' unpaid leave' as he has already utilised all his AL for his studies. I also really wanted him to have the 3 accounts since we have been there for few hrs. Anyway, luckily he was willing to sacrifice 1 day after listening to my advice and luckily his boss is a flexible lady. 'Super regret' Once we reached ASNB, long Q numbers but I decided to collect few numbers in between waiting. I only asked for 100u to open account. We Q 8x from 11am- 2.30pm. Luckily he got AS1M- 11.00+ ASM- 12.00+ ASW- 2.20pm. In between, there were few customers who'd managed to get ASM & ASW units but unfortunately insufficient units during our timing. 1 auntie managed to get $6k ASW at 12:00+. Another man came with >5 passbooks (family) managed to get some units for few of his ASM, AS1M, ASW passbooks. On our way back, we stopped by Affin bank to do the 'wakil' stuff and managed to get 4 digits AS1M for him. Will only be looking for few digits in coming days for him. QUOTE(nexona88 @ Jul 12 2016, 05:07 PM) AS1M is the 1st to get (because it's the easiest) & ASW2020 last to get (because very hard) Just about timing as others managed to get ASW during their time there. so my theory is true after all (based on my experiences).. Now that he got the passbook, the rest of the top up could be done back in my township. This post has been edited by twinkle5129: Jul 12 2016, 05:14 PM |

QUOTE(nexona88 @ Jul 12 2016, 05:20 PM) yeah, timing also play role.. but basically I see asw is the hardest to get I was prepared to leave if still cannot get ASW after 2pm but lady luck was on our side at the end. My nephew was satisfied with AS1M & ASM already but I told him not to give up yet since we 'wasted >3hrs and I still have another Q number left (after next 12 customers again).and the most important is the passbook. thanks to u, he managed to get.. not everyone have people that will take the time to help. my respect to u auntie This post has been edited by twinkle5129: Jul 12 2016, 05:28 PM |

QUOTE(iLegend @ Jul 12 2016, 03:57 PM) After waiting for 2 hours, managed to open account and buy 3 digits for ASW2020 & AS1M and 4 digits for ASM !! Thank you sifu for the tips QUOTE(iLegend @ Jul 12 2016, 05:50 PM) Thanks for sharing Luck & timing again. But will it be easier to get ASM unit compared to AS1M & ASW since dividend already distributed for ASM? At least now I can help him to top up whatever is available 1st. Later can do small top up with his monthly salary. Easier if I do it for everyone since I have the time to visit bank few times/day if needed. |

QUOTE(langstrasse @ Jul 12 2016, 05:59 PM) Folks, I see a lot of talk here of personal targets for the ASX accounts (RM150k, RM200k etc), but any idea what are these personal targets (or recommendations) in terms of % of net worth ? I currently have about 36% of NW in ASX. Personally I find it high in terms of concentration (but then again ASX is to my understanding a low risk, highly liquid and easily accessible investment). Any thoughts from the experienced people here ? Would you go all the way say to 60% , 70 % of net worth in ASX? |

By the way, when I was at ASNB, it happened the counter staff's computer (the only one affected) has some issues and it took her longer to check availability and to process opening of account.
It was unfortunate/ fortunate as my number was called to her counter 5-6x today. Luckily she was nice and still willing to check for me. For each successful opening, she has to 'wait' for the computer to 'process' and referred me to another counter if it took longer than usual. Finally at 2.20pm, when sufficient units were available, she managed to open ASW for me but unable to process the form and passbook this time. She had to enter it manually on the form and processed the new passbook on other counter for me. I'm very grateful & thankful that she tried her best for us. ASNB staff also said there were some issues last Friday and it did affect other bank system too at times. * I also double checked if my HIBAH is ready and staff said, once they have processed it at branch level, it'll be sent to HQ and HQ will be the one sending it out to applicants. It'll take at least 2 mths. For undelivered mails, it'll be return to branch level and they'll contact the applicants directly. This post has been edited by twinkle5129: Jul 12 2016, 08:45 PM |

QUOTE(langstrasse @ Jul 12 2016, 08:42 PM) Of course. Yes but it's tough to find comparable asset classes with similar levels of risk and returns. Fair enough, I guess the threshold in % of net worth would change depending on a person's age and life stage (student, early career, mid career, retirement etc). |

Eg like dasecret said, ASX is a blackbox investment (not transparent). Who cares not transparent? As long give you give me >= 6.x% + principal is "protected" + excellent track record, I don't care. That's just personal view. Sorry, still not interested. the only 'outside' investment I'm willing to let 'others' handling my precious retirement saving are ASNB FP. The rest, I'd rather invest in company that I can have full respect. CIMB= 100% You don't like that CIMB bank, go to another CIMB bank. Easy. Any lubang let me know ya. PM me Update: Today busy day, only tried once. Got 0 units After years of investing here and there, scammed by many few times, now I'll just stay put with ASX FP and managed my own personal investments instead of paying agents/ banks service fees.
