People are okay with looking through scratched screen protectors but are not okay with looking through scratched gorilla glass.

I don't understand.

i started this thread due to lots of /k said "gorilla glass don need put screen protector"

I am phone accessories seller and was a nokia lumia user.

my lumia 800 scratched and chipped in few months use without screen protector.

and lots and lots and lots of my customers who believed in gorilla glass were regret because their screen was either scratched or chipped or cracked in a short period.

one of my customer said "tiada benda yang perfect kecuali dihasil daripada Allah notworthy.gif

So i am here summoning /k who experienced scratched or cracked gorilla glass.  smile.gif

Me first :  Lumia 800 within 6 months usage, few scratches and chipped

It is just tougher than normal glass. Hard to scratch and hard to break. It was never advertised as unbreakable. Protector is like soldier and gorilla glass is like army commander. Nothing secret about gorilla glass. There are many manufacturers under different brand name

Did Gorilla glass advertise themselves as scratchproof in the first place? Scratch resistant only, no?

Do people actually care about phones' resale value?

So people take really good care of their phones, not using it the way it's meant to be used just so that the 2nd hand buyer will benefit from it?

been using iphone 5 without any screen protector for few years.

Minor scratches yes, barely visible unless you try to spot it with effort but no cracks, no major very obvious scratch at all

no extra care given to protect it as well, coins/keys are put together with it in my pockets sometimes.

So i'd say skip the screen protector for iphones at least
