The most important for lift supplier is their maintenance team. Even KLIA 2 which they adopt OTIS, have to change the whole team to a new maintenance company.

The approving authority for lifts and escalator is JKKP which stands for Jabatan Keselamatan dan Kesihatan Pekerja. JKKP is the authority that approves the design and later inspects the lift. All lift contractors must submit design plans to JKKP for approval before they install the lift. Then once installed JKKP will come for inspection to certify the lift. If the inspection is OK then JKKP will issue the PMA (Permit Mesin Angkat) for the lift. On the lift and escalator look for the PMA number (shown as "PMA ######") which is written above the car operating panel of the lift/at the escalator landing. The PMA number is unique for each lift. So for those that are suggesting to complain to Police and Bomba, the correct authority is JKKP. JKKP got the power to come to site and inspect the lift and if they deem the lift unsafe can issue notice not to operate the lift to the owner. I have seen before JKKP issue notice not to operate a lift even when the pit is full of water but the lift is ok.
