expert from anandtech has test that
"The Mate 8 advertises fast charging out of the box so that even considering it having a large 4000mAh battery, it should still be fast to fill up when in need. The stock charger is a 9V/2A (18W) unit. I’m not sure if the charging enumeration protocol is based on Quick Charge or Adaptive Fast Charging, but it was able to enable fast-charging on Samsung phones while the Mate 8 didn’t fast-charge on Samsung’s charger, meaning the Huawei charger is likely a Quick Charge unit and the Mate 8’s PMIC and voltage negotiation IC seems to only accept Quick Charge. " read here for details : http://www.anandtech.com/show/9878/the-hua...mate-8-review/7 please no more question about mate 8 can fast charging or not using samsung fast charger. its clear now. meaning that mate 8 fast charger can work with other phone that support has quick charge.but mate 8 didnt fast charging using samsung or other phone fast charger. The HDR does work. Just that it's rather subtle. Overall, i think the picture seems flat but easy to fix in PP or tweak the camera options. But the details at 100% is definitely less than my dead G4. Maybe because of the software or the slightly smaller sensor. While I have a DSLR - I don't always carry it around...so looking for a worthy camera phone after i sold off my IP6 + ![]() ![]() QUOTE(mon678 @ Apr 22 2016, 11:01 AM) people here already tried sir...please read comment before..dont just coming in and judge. huawei phone can be charge with other phone charger but not getting the huawei fast charging function. Sorry lah bro i researched on XDA not here haha. Missed the 1st thread. Forgive me i just owned the phone for 4 days LOL. Anyway i did try last night and it is indeed slow using Aukey charger. It didn't seem to maintain the QC function. Will use the ori charger for next charge. ![]() |

anyone here use the Spigen Ultra Hybrid or Ringke Fusion case here? I'm considering which case to get - last time i bought the Ringke for my 1+2, it made the phone so much more thicker - I'm wondering is Spigen Ultra Hybrid Crystal Clear is the same? Or anyone have a decently priced case for this? Back cover only - not into flip cases

QUOTE(latte36 @ Apr 21 2016, 10:09 PM) 4g will drain more because most telcos dont have strong 4g coverage, except maybe maxis. Thus, forcing ur phone to constantly switch to 4g when there is coverage eats batteries. I can see in power usage, mobile network have a lot of red & yellow line, mean that the phone keep searching for network. I am using digi, I think their 4g coverage is better I thinkPersonal experience on a s6. In setia alam, no 4g, 3g also pretty weak. Kept surfing and refresh webpages, in less than 4hrs my battery went from 90+% to 5% |

Quick review vs my ex note 5.
1. Camera - i think note 5 is better. Pictures seem sharper maybe due to higher reso on the 5. 2. Touch sensitivity - immediately noticed the diff when i switched over. Note 5 way more sensitive. 3. Speed, if side by side, m8 launches apps faster but not something u will notice. 4. Battery. Killer. M8 best and only reason why i came over. Absolutely killer. N5 dont stand a chance at all 5. Reception/Data - so far no data freeze like my previous note 5. Connection seems stable, in fact, seems better than my n5 as my sim 2 (umobile) is full bar as during my n5, it drops occasionally. 6. Size - mate 8 is slightly bigger, more difficult to hold/use especially when u are lying down reading/surfing. But screen size abt the same because of the navigation bar on the m8. Conclusion - both has their strengths, but im using the m8 solely because it can last me throughout my usage, and beyond. So good for now.. |

A few notes: the first picture is blurred, probably out of focus. Pictures 1 to 4 show a high level of noise clearly visible in the blue area of the sky. What's strange is that the noise is less visible in the following pictures and definitely less invasive in the sunset image (it makes little sense, considering that you get more noise with less light...). I already know that Mate 8 camera quality is just OK, I'm just wondering if a software update can improve at least a bit the situation. It would be nice to have the possibility to save in RAW format (like on the P9) and be able to generate the final JPEG using personal settings. |
