so for real users of mate 8 here...thinking of either getting this or s7 Edge.. i know the camera of the s7 is great and reviews of the camera of the mate 8 has not been good....one site even mentions HDR makes no difference in this phone...

anyone here use the Spigen Ultra Hybrid or Ringke Fusion case here? I'm considering which case to get - last time i bought the Ringke for my 1+2, it made the phone so much more thicker - I'm wondering is Spigen Ultra Hybrid Crystal Clear is the same? Or anyone have a decently priced case for this? Back cover only - not into flip cases

i used nillkin nature before - very slim yes - but not really much protection ya.. the hump on the camera is also no high enough I think to protect the camera - and after a while the cap for the usb charger hole will not close properly or keeps sticking out - but for that price i think you can buy a new one hahaa

Do you guys have notifications problems on our current B170 firmware - this is what was posed on XDA forums for Mate 8

C10B172 as far everything works great (and notifications except Viber).I feel that this firware is more....i dont know how to say it...i didnt fing lag to any of the 3 firwares but this one lets say that is more lagless...this was the only rom that google now was installed but this maybe has to do with the installation that i follow.

I'm using protected apps for disa, yesterday I noticed that I didnt get notification until I went into the app. It had been almost 5 hours. I'm on B170. I did put the phone into airplane mode while I took a nap and whatsapp gave me a notification but Disa did not. Never had this issue with my iPhone or One plus 2

The best way is to transfer the picture to your pc and do a comparison.

Actually I drainer the battery to 0% and then recharged up till 100%- it took me it close to 3 hours to reach 100% and not 2.5 hours as stated - this is using Original Huawei fast charger and also ori cable...

Next time, i'll drain to 0% and try one of my 5V 2.4 amp charger and see whats the results

Big deal for me when you're using 2 sims - where it will allow me to differentiate which sim is on 2G or 4G - allows me to differentiate the network - I know network name is shown on the left corner - maybe just me being picky when there feature is there since day 1

Is this what the reason is when notifications don't come in until I turn on the phone...I thought for whatsapp it does turn on the screen when notifications come in?

Only I for my push email - I don't sometimes get notification until screen is unlocked via fingerprint...didn't realize until you mentioned so....need to test a bit...

Are you mentioning only screen does not turn on and the email does not display on the locked screen ? Or no notification sounds even?

Email as well? Whatsapp and Line work fine for me.I'm using Blue mail for my email client I noticed this doesn't turn on the screen when notifications come in. Default Huawei email client works fine. But unfortunately I don't like the default mail client compared to Bluemail. I need to test further.

hmm..today i was just playing with motion control and I realized that I cant use the corresponding keys using my knuckles for Drawing letters - example C, E , M or W - all doesn't work.

However knuckle screen shot still works...
