i am using V3616au and it is built for vista because the drivers are for vista and hardly have windows xp drivers... but manage to install windows xp... the wireless is giving me problem... then i find out it is the stupid windows wireless manager problem. finally settle using broadcom wireless manager.. but the trick is you have to download from hp website and you couldnt get it when u key in your laptop model from the driver section. you need to specifically search for broadcom wireless utility.

btw what's the difrence with dynamic switching and batery optimized?
*
dynamic will auto change the clock speed when its needed..

battery optimized will keep stay in lowest clockspeed to battery saving.

But i didnt use NHC.. it make computer need take sometime to finish load window..

i prefer speedswitchXP.. because i only use the simple function..

i used another called PCWizard from CPU-z

just now recorded down the battery usage
mine is around 12minutes for 6%
logically can last 200minutes full charged
with minimal workload

AMD Dual-Core Optimizer -
The AMD Dual-Core Optimizer can help improve some PC gaming video performance by compensating for those applications that bypass the Windows API for timing by directly using the RDTSC (Read Time Stamp Counter) instruction. Applications that rely on RDTSC do not benefit from the logic in the operating system to properly account for the affect of power management mechanisms on the rate at which a processor core's Time Stamp Counter (TSC) is incremented. The AMD Dual-Core Optimizer helps to correct the resulting video performance effects or other incorrect timing effects that these applications may experience on dual-core processor systems, by periodically adjusting the core time-stamp-counters, so that they are synchronized.

AMD Turion(tm) 64 X2 Dual-Core Mobile Technology Driver Version 1.3.2.0053 for Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 (x86 and x64) -
Allows the system to automatically adjust the CPU speed, voltage and power combination to match the instantaneous user performance need. This package is a user friendly localized software installation of the driver designed for end-users. This driver supports AMD Turion(tm) 64 X2 Mobile Technology on Windows XP SP2 and Windows Server 2003 SP2 x86 and x64 Editions.

Computers that are running Windows XP Service Pack 2 and that are equipped with multiple processors that support processor power management features may experience decreased performance

Added on November 19, 2007, 1:24 amfor general usage, v3614au meets my expectation.

i like the screen,i like the blue light,i like the keyboard

tis laptop stick with a lot of fingerprint =.="

Already la, All IT gave me all the drivers.
If you owned a dell inspiron 6000 series before, you will know the power management is better.
For instance, if you unplug power cord, the monitor's brightness will automatically reduced and other features will also be disabled (wifi, blutooth..so on) to save power.
In addition, the V3000 series blue led lits up all the time which consume power as well. If I am on the run, I dont really need the led to be on all the time. I prefer it to lit for 10 secs if any keys are touched then switched off to save power.

I think that's the only downer for me, battery life and power management. That's the reason why I need extra 9-cells !!!!

NHC is ok...just disable the system startup lo..so it wont disturb the start up speed...after u start up when u need it, then u only turn on urself...

im sitll thinking of a way to reduce the heat...anyone with ideas??

currently i shove a Marlboro box under my cooler pad, make it more space between the lappy and the pad for more ventilation air flow...but still doesnt help much.. doh.gif
