got 2 ques here:

1st:
i'm the kind of guy who likes to download stuff. so normally, i dont switch off my laptop. is it ok if like that? i got a cooling pad. but does it gonna effect anything e.g. my hardisk performance??

2nd ques:
it is stated in hp wesbite and at the store that my laptop have bluetooth. but when i check it out, it doesnt, even the bluetooth simbol on the laptop dont have...

or V3614 does not support XP?

nvidia nTune can be found a nvidia site, download driver..

myb a mods cooler pad out of a refrigerator... hahah.
Hard to find cooler pad that puts its fan at d right positon..
if i not mistaken, d cpu on upper left, ram on center, hdd on lower left, just dontknow where d chipset is?

i'm using 512m 667 stock + 512m 667 kingmax. still runing slow on vista.
Some info on ddr 800... can it improve much?

interested in the one with TL-60 (2ghz) in it. anybody using this model? can you run CPUZ and see if the TL-60 is the new 65nm Tyler or is it the older version (90nm Taylor & Trinidad)?

1 = i dont really shut down my laptop when dling. i just turn off the display and went to sleep. haha! no cooling pad yet.

2 = just switch on ur wireless and ur bluetooth will be on and in ur taskbar, there will be a bluetooth icon.

HAHA...i am also a heavy downloader...b4 this use desktop....nvr bother, on 24 hours nvr off unless weekend go out wet..wan to burn ma burn la..haha..

some latest v36xx model uses same driver as others v3000 series, cause mostly still using on same motherboard / chipset, main difference only proc, so should can try on those drivers (but not guarentee working a )

Does the V3615AU (or other OS version) come with all drivers installed?

i meet the same problem, stil struggle to get the graphic chipset driver for XP

i found sumting funny.
i usualy disable the touchpad of my lappie..but now after i on the lappie..the touchpad directly can use..even if it show the red led light.

my question.im using the very 1st batch of v3010..which ram do it support now?any better specs ram that it can support for max performance?

Yes, I can understand your 'angry'. The reasons why many of us want to install XP , it is because a lot of programs still work perfectly in XP environment. By upgrading to Vista, we need to spare time to find / buy new programs again.

Therefore, please understand our situation. It is nothing wrong to look for XP drivers, it is for the convenience of everybody.

By time come, it will be naturally all of us upgrade to Vista environment.

If you are all llooking for xp drivers ur looking in the wrong section. Dont look for your specific model of ur laptop in the compaq site. Instead look for "V3000 cto" under search and u may find all the xp drivers ur looking for.. thats where i got all of mine which is also da newest versions.. over there u will find the latest bios for all v3000 presario laptops too.

Also grissom0925 i run vista ultimate.. I have not found a single program that cant run on vista.. plus all software makers are complying to vista.. so dont say u have to find software to work on vista.. that is a myth and not a fact... u also actually spend more time and frustration to get laptop to work on xp.. then to find software and drivers thats available for vista even hardwares that dont support vista, i was still able to have a work around the so called problems...also it isnt even slow I run a 3614au with 2gb ram, and the start up is fast... it took me just 20mins flat to installed vista ultimate XD plus i find it is much more stable than xp.. i say upgrade now.. why waiT? the ONLY big problem i see in vista is that if u use networks, u will see a dramatic decrease in transfer speeds over certain networks ... this is because of tcp global parameters for autotuning is enabled.. u will need to disable this and reboot for u to use networks effectively... if any1 is having any problems u can try this command:

goto command prompt
type "netsh interface tcp set global autotuning=disabled"

btw a quick question.. did u guys realise u can change the video shared memory in bios?? what is ur settings i have changed it from 32mb to 128mb and still dont see the difference :S wats ur settings on?? and how weird.. we have a sata hdd.. but in device manager it says ata.. even talked to hp about it.. they say it displays as ata but runs as sata.. does that make sense?? :S

Sorry to know that it's not working on yours. Perhaps you shd try calling HP hotline and speak to their technical dept. I spoke to this Mr. Venki and he has been reli helpful. He even called me back after a few days just to check if my problem is solved. Brilliant svs ehh

I am using V3415. Freedos but paid someone to setup evliting for me so when I got back my laptop, evliting is in and working fine until now. Just added 1GB of Kingston ram a few weeks back and its performing bede I would say
