If you are all llooking for xp drivers ur looking in the wrong section. Dont look for your specific model of ur laptop in the compaq site.  Instead look for "V3000 cto" under search and u may find all the xp drivers ur looking for.. thats where i got all of mine which is also da newest versions.. over there u will find the latest bios for all v3000 presario laptops too.

Yes sure! Thanks the tips from Faibs. Here are the steps that I took:

Step 1: Go www.compaq.com.

Step 2: Click "get support" section on the top panel.

Step 3: under product number, type in "v3000 cto".

Step 4: Select your product from the list of search results. In my case, I clicked "Compaq Presario V3000 CTO Notebook PC".

Step 5: Click "software & driver download".

Step 6: Click "Microsoft windows XP".

Step 7: Under "driver - network" section, download & install "Intel PRO/Wireless drivers" (ver: 6.00F, 5.85MB, 01-2007) & "HP Wireless Assistant" (ver: 3.00D, 3.2MB, 01-2007).

Regards,
Joseph

Hi Joseph,

Thanks for your help.  icon_rolleyes.gif

I managed to install most of the drivers, except Ethernet LAN.  rclxm9.gif  I think it is the last hurdle I need to clear before I can sleep well.

Currently, I am using AMD Turion model (V3616AU). I tried to search thru' various deriver to install but alas failed to do so.

Do you have any ideas????  rclxub.gif

Hi Grissom,

The notebook that I tried is a Intel-based, so I have no idea of how to fix urs. However why don't u give HP/Compaq a direct call on the issue? the V3000 series laptop actually belongs to my cousin, whom bought with Maybank's credit card promotion in Malaysia (and use in Singapore) and HP does not give direct warranty so I have to look for solutions by myself.
I recommended u give the helpdesk a call. Follow up whatever u need. U may be able to request them send u copies of driver discs tongue.gif
