coz what i know this Nvidia Geforce Go6150 is a share Ram chipset, dun have dedicate memory oh...

the 6150 does have 256, and I can share out another 256 from my 2gb ram
yea, I'm using V3250AU

The BIOS don't have SATA settings under system configuration.

ANyone got any suggestion to enhance my laptop screen. I have 2g ram. But plain old boring window XP screen.. sigh~~

wat do u mean by enhance?
changin a desktop wallpaper?or insert graphic card?

err.. i mean like add in some features. like WVista or Mac panel.. any idea where to get those. 2g ram should b enuff to support these enhancement sw rite..

I think there is 1 application called window blind something.. u try google for it. Or use vista transformation Or u try upgrade your graphic card forceware , Ge force 6150 forceware support many kind of feature. Eg. Transparency(there's also 1 simple application can do this), u try to experience it, there does a lot of function.

Guys, jack2 came to my house and show his V3200 to me. I'm stunned to look at the beauty of this notebook. It's beautiful, sleek, glossy, and the design is so beautiful with the metal-like design.

So how much is the cheapest V(recommend me the model) Series?

Mike, cheapest I think is about RM1799 +- for the v3250AU now if the promotion is still on, have a look at the website

hi guys... i'm planning to get the compaq v3415au... which is a freedos laptop.... after reading tro' the pages... i would like to summarise few things which i hope sifoo here can correct me if it is wrong..
1) if i want to run windows xp(32 bit), i need to install driver...
2) the above applies for all hardware

ok, let me relate my story.

i bought the v3005au in SG. the spec is AMD Turion64X2 with GeForce6150. had exactly all the problems as above. laptop freezes when playing games, watching movies or doing heavy tasks. cannot be turned on after that, but the LED lights are still on. sent for repair, and they changed a new mobo. but the symptoms came back again after a month. i have restarted for 3 hours and finally got it booted up prior to posting this msg. if i have no reply after this, means my laptop is dead for good again.

my room mate bought the exact same model on the same day. he too had a dead mobo and just got it back from repair. on the first day itself, the symptoms came back.

the wireless issue is also related to this mobo issue. once the above symptoms appear, the WIFI will not work properly too. sometimes can use, sometimes down.

this is an obvious design flaw by HP/Compaq where the processor is let to heat up till it burns up the mobo. can we bring up this case to the consumer tribunal for a new model replacement? i ain't gonna send back for repairs as i've waited 2 months during my first time. after searching the internet, there was a guy who had 3 dead mobos and sent for repairs 3 times.

edit: can the TS or Mods pls update this issue to the first page so as to let others with the same issues to find it easily. tq

FYI , mine v3250au also does got freeze problem. It freeze frequently when running game. Sometime it freeze till the screen auto refresh. Somehow it still can be open, hm.. For the wifi, it does got problem. Sometime wireless was not able to connect it even i keep restarting it. Then i try set wireless>configure>and set something then press ok. And it will connect again. Or i try to turn off and turn on back the wireless button. But the wifi easily lost packet. Make the game lag and disconnect.

how do we fully test the laptop. I havent really actually test it fully. Only had a game installed --> maplesea. N tab into other ppl wireless to play. Lags n dc quite often. But ability to search for internet connection, no problem.

Hv been using it to watch some porno porno movie.. hehe. No lags. looks fine.

anyone could recommend me a game that can fully test the system.. not those super high end game pls. those just nice compatible with Nvidia 6150.

since I on my laptop for 47 days without any problem,
am not trying to show off, just I want to see is it got so many problem like you all said.

you could also try yahoo!widgets.it's alot like those gadgets in Vista.i played half-life 2(max settings) with no problem with this laptop.playable titles i tried so far at low-medium settings:gta san andreas,devil may cry 3,cs source,nfsmost wanted,max payne 2,cnc tiberium wars,FEAR...and oh say no to porno. haha

U wan to try test your laptop? Juz try to convert a song or movie

Somehow i felt there is 1 thing if compare with intel. Im using thumb drive copy file to my friend lappy, and i felt the time consuming more longer then intel, does it related to bus speed, clockspeed or cache?

i Just bought the compaq presario V3412TU intel core duo 2.0 with 2GB ram up yesterdat. before i getting this i was planning to get the AMD 64 X2 TL-56 1.8GHZ version, but after go though all the researched and hands on testing....the performance for the AMD core compare to intel is not as good as what those review has been told in those lappies review website ( i m not buyers to Intel or AMD ) since this threat open discussion for this presario v3000 series i just tell what i had seen and feel, the GO6150 with the 256 Memory actully cause the system with the heavy load when during gamming, while you playing DOTA, at another side using MS word 2007 to do your typing thingy. both are actully not very heavy weight program but when gamming it will effect the whole machine. but CP v3000 is not for gamming usage....it use to watch movie and surfing is far enough for this series......if ppl would like to game on the laptop kindly get HP pavilion the 5000 - 6000 series if not mistaken. with the Nvidia 7600++ GC build. the AMD core has many problem that cant actully fix as what you all mention above, mayb the core not really mature for mobile solution(correct me if i m wrong), the only thing good for AMD is save power, very power efficient. that all i can said for this AMD V3145 model....but i m happy with the spec and performance for my assignment, lightweight gamming (POP game), watch movie, and so on.....HP has the great ever laptop for this......100% you wont regret. you paid extra to get HP/compaq lappies. compare to acer those plastic seriously.......no eye see

compaq presario amd model is not that bad....for driver u need to install according to order then your notebook will work fine....for blue screen problem,most is cause by improper way to install ram or uncompatible ram....is not amd fault

i thought intel santa rosa should be more power saving than amd ??
