QUOTE(lilsunflower @ Sep 16 2016, 11:38 AM) Yes, you don't even have to wait a few months. I assume your scenario is as follows: Bank A RM10k transferred to Bank B (now Bank A has 0, Bank B has 12 months instalment of RM10k) Bank B's outstanding balance (e.g. including any BT instalment already charged to the card) can be freely transferred to Bank C at any time, subject to Bank C's terms and conditions. For example, Bank C may require Bank B's latest statement. In short, your BT applications with different banks are mutually exclusive. You can even do simultaneous BT applications with Banks A, B and C (all to each other haha), as long as you meet each individual bank's conditions (typically you need sufficient credit limit, and possibly a copy of the latest statement of the bank you're transferring from). thanks for the explanation. I'm trying to do BT to Bank B, but unfortunately, Bank B give me lower CL (a bit shocking because my last card with them, my CL was 30k), so cannot do full BT. so I'm gonna try to apply another CC for BT purpose (balance from Bank A and cancel the card).

As per PBB TnC: Early Settlement Penalty of RM100 will be charged if the Cardmember terminates or discontinues the programme by making full payment for the Approved Balance or such outstanding thereof prior to the expiry date of the credit scheme duration. (Public Bank Credit Cards only).
Mean I can't do payment more than my outstanding amount?
Eg. I've recently do BT from other bank to PBB, let's say RM6k, my instalment will be RM1k per month, so, my authorised charges will be RM5k (RM6k-RM1k) for 1st month. Can I do BT to other bank from PBB for let's say RM5k? Will it consider as early settlement of my BT and need to pay penalty of RM100?

No. Those authorised BT charges are not due (i.e. not yet charged onto your card) but a provision has been made for them. The BT funds received by PBB will only offset your outstanding balance and not the authorised charges. Early settlement is if you terminate the BT programme by telling PBB that wish to settle all the BT charges (including authorised amounts which have not been charged). The most common situation in which this may arise is if you cancel your card. So, for example, you should generally do BTs on cards which you do not anticipate cancelling (e.g. those without annual fee, or those with low / waiveable annual fees). QUOTE(mamamia @ Sep 16 2016, 03:18 PM) Ooic.. So mean even I do "advance payment" now also won't kena early settlement penalty.. Thanks for ur advice.. Correct. The advance payment will sit as a credit against your outstanding balance and not your authorised charges. An classic example is when you may have authorised charges, zero outstanding and then cash back or a reversal. You will see the credit in your outstanding balance, with your authorised charges unaffected.

QUOTE(lilsunflower @ Sep 16 2016, 09:46 AM) Yes, that's exactly what happens. Take the cash out to a CASA. I then put the extra cash into a one month FD, and every month pay off the instalments, and create another one month FD. another question is it sufficient to provide the online login page that shows the outstanding balance of the cc with the BT form without waiting for the unbilled transaction to appear ?

I always show the first page without transaction listing. However, note that when using online screen shot, some banks may also request for the first page of your latest statement which shows your full credit card number, name and address. As a pre-emptive measure, you should include this anyway, but use your screenshot amount for the BT application.

QUOTE(lilsunflower @ Sep 15 2016, 07:16 PM) Good news - the answer is yes. I applied for credit limit increase on 14 September and e-mailed the form to MBB at 8am yesterday. This morning I checked my Maybank2u, and my CL was already increased (but by 10k only). I received the SMS notification that my CL had been approved at 6.43pm today (even though this morning I could see that my CL had already been increased). However, note that MBB's CL limit increase is quite strict. My MBB CL is the lowest amongst all my credit cards, and the increment was only 10k. They will self assess how much they can give you based on your income documents. Great! Thanks!
