[quote=gg_gg,Mar 26 2008, 02:51 AM] This is due to a loose battery cover. The phone is designed such that it turns off automatically when you open the cover.
To fix: Open the cover, and put some tape or cardboard to hold the switch in place.
Went to the service centre at Imbi and the fella confidently told me it was a motherboard issue without even checking my phone. Fingers crossed the tape I inserted will solve my woes. Thanks for your help. Much appreciated

CAN ANYONE HELP ME WITH THE BLUETOOTH SYNC WITH VISTA??? Thanks for the info. Found it. The switch is located on the top right corner when u flip the phone over. Hope this will stop my PDA hanging problem. Sorry can not help u there on the vista/bluetooth problem cos I am still using the more stable XP Os. Thanks a lot once again.

I inserted some tape to hold down the switch and this sorta broke the switch. Worst part is the switch is connected to the motherboard. My phone is now collecting dust in the Asus Service Centre. They don't have motherboard stock for another month so whatever you do, don't break it now. Sigh.

My PDA hangs at least once a week and I have to reset the darn thing. It hangs as and when it wants to. I could be just looking at my sms inbox, and when I click on a message to read it, it will hang. There is no confirmed action that will make it hang. It will just hang randomly. Checked Asus website and no new firmware yet. Anybody has a fix?

They said the new motherboard comes standard with WM6 firmware. Don't know if it's a good thing. Anyone has grouses about WM6? Please share. Added on April 16, 2008, 7:34 pmDoes anyone know how to extract my contacts saved under WM5 version of SPB Backup. I am on WM6 now cos my newly replaced motherboard only supports WM6. Any fix? It become usable in the new version of WM.

if you only backed up your PIM and not the entire system it should be able to port back to wm6.. you may need a good friend with WM5 set..
1) Backup his system & PIM 2) Install your backup 2) Backup your pim only
just an idea..
Well if you PDA now has WM6 firmware.. you can try your PIM backup and see what happens.. worst case just hard reset
