One GSC Premiere class ticket is worth RM32 (I think). So tickets for 2 means RM64 per reward. Hello? Which telco is generous enough to give such high value reward? I will definitely want it lor. Just that I wasn't fast enough to grab it. 😂 Try my luck again next month!!!
*
it's RM20 per ticket, too bad where i live there aren't any antman premier class otherwise i would have grabbed it haha

i heard rumors stating that Time will double up our current speed, and existing customers will still pay their current pricing while new customers will pay more

If the rumor is true then it is not so attractive i guess.

i'm fine with this tbh, the one TM's doing is like bringing up the hype but in the end they still have some unannounced drawbacks biggrin.gif

Thanks.. My bad, should have known to check their first..  doh.gif  biggrin.gif  So read through and it does seem like throttling will apply at their discretion.. Hmm..
*
in my 2 years of using Time, I have yet to encounter any form of throttling when it comes to torrenting.

if Time ever goes national and has coverage everywhere, that could be a different story tongue.gif

i didnt know time can update tplink router
what if i am using a different router from what they gave me?
or what if i update straight from my tplink router?
*
you can update your router directly if you feel like it and know what you're doing

i'm using a different firmware myself for my dir-850l that addresses the backdoor access the previous version was facing

need input from existing TIME users, as I plan to switch from MAXIS to TIME.
MAxis = 10Mbps
Time = 100Mbps
PRice = RM129/month, same for both

Performance & stability?
*
performance sure is good

stability also good, based on my log, this year so far i have total 6 minutes downtime using time fibre

i just received emailed from time

new package

rm 129 - 100mbps
rm 169 - 300mbps
rm 249 - 500mbps

but it is by the distributor, BUT using time's email

he said promo last until 24th august, should proceed or not

hmm.gif
*
so existing customers pay RM20 more for 100mbps & 300mbps and RM40 more for 500mbps

bagus

From my point of view also, TIME will not do any upgrade because mostly in condo's UNIFI and MAXIS cannot support pure fibre, only VDSL. So, no matter what TIME can claim they are 100% fibre optic and uses this strong point for them. If you do not want TIME, then stick back to UNIFI or MAXIS (no upgrade at all)

sounds like "you tak suka you keluar"

QUOTE(jkmak @ Aug 20 2018, 11:49 PM)
Hi I'm currently using Unifi 50Mbps@rm199 and very satisfied but been wanting to get the Time 100Mbps@rm149 as I don't watch tv.

How is the stability with Time fibre? What's your connection speed when viewing this  8k youtube video? (right click stats for nerds)

Are now a good time to upgrade? I'm in Kelana Jaya area btw. Thanks!
*
I'm getting 170mbps connection speed viewing that video

i think now's quite a good time to sub to TIME since for 100mbps it's RM129 rather than RM149. try approaching some dealers and ask the price

QUOTE(kmrdeva @ Aug 20 2018, 11:45 PM)
Not same. Got choice because other players are there.
*
essentially 'you tak suka you keluar time' lo, except the other players are hardly competitive as well, but since the fibre wars has kinda 'just' started, i guess it's just a matter of time before we get beefier packages biggrin.gif

I understand router and interference can affect the speed, this is why my HTPC is connected through LAN and still Youtube buffering. I even tried VPN to see it maybe TIME does some throttling, but still same issue. Though test speed will give close to max speed. I don't know how they manage to do that.

Probably depends on the area too. But good for you that TIME works well (no sarcasm at all), I wish it was the case for me. I'm stuck with Time because our landlord provides it, but we're moving soon, so now I can finally choose TIME/Maxis/TM
*
have you by any chance have some sort of QoS enabled? usually if the line's unstable, everything is affected, including speed tests, ping tests etc.

Early morning test with my Maxis fibre 10Mbps line to Time's speedtest server.  Performed on 10 year old laptop with built in 802.11g card, using a third-party non-official wireless router loaded with OpenWRT (the superb Thomson router died).

[attachmentid=10032475]

So, based on my discussions with TIME customer support and people enjoying excellent speeds in this thread, I conclude that you must:

- use LAN or WiFi 802.11a/802.11ac
- use certain browsers only, with no add-ons/extensions
- use a newer router such as AC1200 (not the DIR850L that old customers like me are using)
- stay in certain areas

If you do not satisfy even one of the requirements above, TIME will not entertain your complaints about slow speeds tongue.gif tongue.gif tongue.gif
*
i am definitely on LAN, router located in master bedroom, my HTPC in living room is getting ~20-40mbps. Using the DIR-850L.

do you have any other devices besides your laptop to do the speed test?
