What is the maximum transfer speed for the free D-Link DIR-850L? If i subscribe to 300Mbps, can the WiFi in the wireless router achieve that speed?

I have the itchiness to order a Netgear R7000 Nighthawk wireless router from overseas, will it be able to work with TIME Broadband in Malaysia? As long as it is PPPoE then it should be fine I guess?

The function of wireless router is just to route traffic coming from the ONU, so it will work regardless of what telco you use, as long as you have a working modem connecting to the Internet - Corrrect me if I'm wrong.

Yes, read a lot about the reviews. But need relatively new phones and laptops to support AC though.. Future proofing would be useful. But buying from overseas means warranty kong. Taking the risk or not... Asus wireless routers having 3 years warranty.

Watcha mean by power adapter with 'weird' voltage uh..? Normally we are in 220-240v 50hz right? I plan to get mine from UK so should be alright, unless you get it from China or US then you might need to consider the power difference in these continents...

I would like to know if the Astro IPTV machine support both wifi/lan & satellite type of connection? For example if the internet is down, still able to watch Astro via the satellite dish connection ?

i just applied for time fibre 300mbps online 2 days ago. there were only 2 payment methods available and i dont have credit card, so i chose auto-debit and took a photo of my debit card.

is it acceptable in this case? so far they have not called me yet

After updating my TP-Link to the latest firmware, it worked right after completing the installation wizard. No problems there. However I feel my 5Ghz is very unstable with this firmware. I quite often lose connection and go on the 2.4Ghz instead. 5Ghz cannot find until I restart the router. For now I'm using the Dlink provided by Time...

The DIR850L did you adjust any settings or are u using the defaults? Im having only 7Mbps speed on the 300MBPS line.

Agreed. But even on ethernet connection, I never able to get real speed (not the speedtest). Usually just around 4-5MB/s only. With my ethernet card, at least 10MB/s shouldn't be a problem. I cannot complain to Time CS because the speedtest can reach 90Mbps+. But I've tried download from multiple servers, same result.

It would be nice if someone could give me some link that they themselves able to get download speed more than 10MB/s.

And another thing is, new subscription for 300Mbps get DLink router for RM189. But mine, for RM179, only given crappy ZTE router. My subscription start on 13 March, if not mistaken. If I wait for a few days until they revised the package, I could get better DLink router for RM10 more. 

Is there something going on with Time's backend now?

My Astro-Time 30Mbps is continually being reset to 10Mbps only. But if I boost I will get 40 Mbps. Astro technician said this is currently a large widespread issue among Astro-Time users :/

Is it possible to request for Time to provide service to my apartment if my apartment is not currently in their coverage area? How do I do that? I am in Penang area currently paying RM 170 for 6mbps of streamyx. T.T

Does your pc/laptop has a Gigabit ethernet port?

Old PC/laptop got up to 100Mbps port only. And theoretically reach 7Mbytes/sec for 100Mbps port is pretty doable.

A gigabit ethernet port + Cat5e/Cat6 and direct connect to the router will reach 300Mbps (or 30MByte/sec) easily.

I'm new to TIME internet and it would be much appreciated if someone could help me clarify something.

I've contacted one of the agents and they say that they will require to drill a small hole at the entrance. I am a bit lost / mislead about the drilling hole at the entrance part. Does it mean that the fiber wire will be directly exposed in my home or something like that?

Would be much appreciated that if there are some photos to help me understand easier.
