Your TIME PPPOE Username is written there on the Doket (Work Completion Sheet)...xxxxxx@timebb, password is hidden by Energizer battery...lolx

Have you actually configured back the TIME connection in your Dlink Router ?

What is the maximum transfer speed for the free D-Link DIR-850L? If i subscribe to 300Mbps, can the WiFi in the wireless router achieve that speed?

I have the itchiness to order a Netgear R7000 Nighthawk wireless router from overseas, will it be able to work with TIME Broadband in Malaysia? As long as it is PPPoE then it should be fine I guess?

The function of wireless router is just to route traffic coming from the ONU, so it will work regardless of what telco you use, as long as you have a working modem connecting to the Internet - Corrrect me if I'm wrong. smile.gif
*
Yes Bro, it will work, we have tested this unit as well.

The same AC1900 range unit that on par or outperforms Asus RT-AC68U.

Yes, read a lot about the reviews. But need relatively new phones and laptops to support AC though.. Future proofing would be useful. But buying from overseas means warranty kong. Taking the risk or not... Asus wireless routers having 3 years warranty.  hmm.gif
*
It depends...mostly all my high end routers I bought from overseas...

Usually if you stabilize the voltage, those branded routers will perform quite a long time... One thing to take note is to avoid power adapter with 'weird' voltage ...I always get a few of these for spare.

I just realized time is only providing D-Link DIR-850L Router, what about modem? Is that a modem router?
*
Nope...its not.

TIME will provide both Router and ONU (aka Fibre Modem).

Thanks.

Overseas will be much cheaper right.. Like having discount or sth hah..

Watcha mean by power adapter with 'weird' voltage uh..? Normally we are in 220-240v 50hz right? I plan to get mine from UK so should be alright, unless you get it from China or US then you might need to consider the power difference in these continents...
*
Ya Bro...much cheaper... Im refering to the DC....weird voltage means not commonly used voltage like 7.5...15V..... not worry..big portion of routers in the market now using 12V 1A or 500mA...so it's very easy to get some replacements AC-DC adapters.

Thanks.

Hi, Anyone using Astro IPTV with TIME ?

I would like to know if the Astro IPTV machine support both wifi/lan & satellite type of connection? For example if the internet is down, still able to watch Astro via the satellite dish connection ?

Thks.
*
Hi Bro,

It depends on wha causes the Internet to be down. If physical cable broken (example), then both Astro and Internet can't be used.
If the router is faulty, causing your Internet to be down, your Astro is still running.

What you are referring is a type of hybrid configuration...it's currently only available on landed properties running on TM HSBB network.

Thanks.

Sorry for a very late reply.
After updating my TP-Link to the latest firmware, it worked right after completing the installation wizard. No problems there. However I feel my 5Ghz is very unstable with this firmware. I quite often lose connection and go on the 2.4Ghz instead. 5Ghz cannot find until I restart the router. For now I'm using the Dlink provided by Time...
*
Hi,

Try to reload the upcoming firmware...though this has been a known bug for some tp-link routers...if possible try to update the driver for your wireless adapter as well...

Thanks.

Agreed. But even on ethernet connection, I never able to get real speed (not the speedtest). Usually just around 4-5MB/s only. With my ethernet card, at least 10MB/s shouldn't be a problem. I cannot complain to Time CS because the speedtest can reach 90Mbps+. But I've tried download from multiple servers, same result.

It would be nice if someone could give me some link that they themselves able to get download speed more than 10MB/s.

And another thing is, new subscription for 300Mbps get DLink router for RM189. But mine, for RM179, only given crappy ZTE router. My subscription start on 13 March, if not mistaken. If I wait for a few days until they revised the package, I could get better DLink router for RM10 more.  dry.gif
*
The actually download speed is really dependable on many factors such as geographical distance of your source server, server load, session/per IP bandwidth limitation, routing paths etc...

In real world, unless a P2P dedicated connection, it's hard to achieve the theory speed.

You can enjoy the special price for Linksys AC1200+ EA6350 router at a special price of RM500..

Thanks.

Is there something going on with Time's backend now?

My Astro-Time 30Mbps is continually being reset to 10Mbps only. But if I boost I will get 40 Mbps. Astro technician said this is currently a large widespread issue among Astro-Time users :/
*
Hi Bro,

Yes you are right...such issues have been noticed since last week.

Make sure you get your report number to follow up the case easier later with Astro CS.

Thanks.

I did no changes to the DLINK Dir-850L supplied.

1 question to you:
Does your pc/laptop has a Gigabit ethernet port?

Old PC/laptop got up to 100Mbps port only. And theoretically reach 7Mbytes/sec for 100Mbps port is pretty doable.

A gigabit ethernet port + Cat5e/Cat6 and direct connect to the router will reach 300Mbps (or 30MByte/sec) easily.
*
@zhiyuen91 please kindly confirm yours is 7MBps or 7Mbps ?

Hi everyone.

I'm new to TIME internet and it would be much appreciated if someone could help me clarify something.

I've contacted one of the agents and they say that they will require to drill a small hole at the entrance. I am a bit lost / mislead about the drilling hole at the entrance part. Does it mean that the fiber wire will be directly exposed in my home or something like that?

Would be much appreciated that if there are some photos to help me understand easier.

Thanks all.
*
Hi,

Normally there will be minor drillings involved but if that is a concern, there are ways to avoid that.

I cant imagine your house conditions, possibly you could whatsapp me some pics, we will propose you with the best route.

Will show you some samples as well.

Thanks

Hi, anyone from Indah Villa Sunway or Sunway area in general here? I am thinking of applying for Time when I move later in the week instead of Unifi. How is the stability of the line? Thanks!
*
Hi,

Based on our 6 years of experience installing & using TIME Fibre Home Broadband, TIME Fibre Business Internet, Dedicated Leased Line, Voice Lines etc.. Comparing to other providers, it's currently the most promising one in the market in terms of Speed, Stability & Price of course.

The beauty of 100% fibre does make significant differences, though not 100% perfect, it shines the brightest among the competitors.
Well its stability does not depend on area, each building will be equipped with its own Fibre.

The following packages available :
