QUOTE(kabukiawie @ Feb 1 2007, 09:28 AM) proper cooling is a must if really want to oc prescott. as long as the temp is under control, prescott is a nice gem. QUOTE(raymond5105 @ Feb 1 2007, 10:44 AM) Yes a HT core is really better than the one which doesn't have.HT makes you feel less lagging while doing applications and gaming. its like a 1.25 or 1.5 core proc |

QUOTE(rainingzero @ Feb 2 2007, 02:31 PM) the temp is kinda hot la, but normal for prescott i think.. that should be normal for prescott mine idle 50-52c and full load around 56-57c... i tested my freezer4 ability by oc my friends proc 2.4c to 3.0ghz.temp not exceed 48c.but when pairing with my proc, it's really hot la.but compared to stock heatsink this one totally silent.... last time i modd my freezer, adding additional fan (pull n push configuration), manage to decrease the temp around 5c... edit:typo |

QUOTE(kingmax @ Feb 4 2007, 05:00 PM) something like , after changing into new mobo , boot the hard disk , then put the xp cd and reinstall window ? if you dont reformat then all ur files will still be there..but when u reinstall a new copy of windows without reformatting all your things will be pretty messed up Will it delete my file if I reinstall window xp ? and windows might ask you which windows do you want to boot into.[since you have two copies of windows in 1 hdd] |

QUOTE(alexandros_18th @ Feb 8 2007, 06:19 PM) want to ask something here.. yeah that should be normal..cuz its just a minimal OC so should'nt make ur temps increase that much I tried to OC my cpu from 3.0ghz (200mhz) to 3.37 (225mhz) the idle temp before OC is like 45C,46C and after OC 47-51C. full load before and after remain at max 53C after I've applied AS5 to my cpu + stock hsf.. izit normal? i mean the temp barely get higher.. @irangan once u get your X1950Pro ur rig would be a really powerful old school P4 |

QUOTE(alexandros_18th @ Feb 8 2007, 08:49 PM) so...would it go extreme if i try to OC it to 4.0ghz? yeah of course the temperature will go higher if you're frequency gets higher..btw, i noticed that the ram clock also change with the cpu clock..if i change the cpu clock to 225, the ram has the same clock.. will the ram go hot? how to see temp of ram? about your rams, its because it's on a 1:1 divider which means its running at the same speed as your fsb.and yes it'll also get hot(er) if you oc it.to check the temp i guess you'll have to get a external thermometer |

QUOTE(shinjite @ Feb 8 2007, 10:53 PM) well to me at least can use Vista without problems ok adi yeah agree with you...nowadays when school starts gettin really busy no time to even game properly and btw, our old school rigs are still strong, why change? XD I don't see a reason to change unless u're a gamer or need to do extensive 3d rendering for your assignments and encoding. @Kahloon im sure they're still some people selling their s478 mobos either in garage sales or even some pc shops so why not try gettin one there? |

QUOTE(kabukiawie @ Feb 12 2007, 11:29 PM) if possible just direct screw the fan on the alu net(promised that wont spoil the net), blow air on your HFS. yeah just installed it back last night with my 6800GS my friend tried to put 4 fans on his panel like yours, 2 intake 2 exhaust. Not so loud if you using silent fan. i still remember his 7000rpm delta fan playing hard rock concert on the alpha cooler currently i open my side panel and a stand fan blow directly to it. lucky dont have cicak lipas. My prob now is the dust. hoho...nice to hear that. fast fast pasang and rock your cpu. QUOTE(rootified @ Feb 13 2007, 09:57 AM) currently using a celeron only. yeah i have a delta FFB 80mm x 35mm gonna get myself a 7300GT first, if it cannot meet my gaming requirement, then will change to P4 3.0G HT by then, i bet i have to fork out another several hundred for a cooler and a better PSU.... 7000rpm?! you gotta be kiddin me... last time when my stock fan was running @ 5000rpm like that, the sound was already terrifying... can feel the table vibrates... 7000?!?! QUOTE(edministrator @ Feb 13 2007, 09:38 PM) What do u mean by fluctuate? U mean voltage drops when you stress your system? If so, get a better PSU, certainly will help. fluctuate means that the voltage are not stable..goes up and down.as far as i know these is one the characteristics of Asus boards Last time with this Enermax FMA i could reach up to 2.8ghz with my MSI mobo.all the voltages are on stock somemore |

Added on February 13, 2007, 9:46 pm he using enermax FMA 460 true power psu la. i think is not the psu, i suspect settings or even ram.
