QUOTE(fylon @ Jul 17 2007, 10:21 AM) Ic.. Thank shinjite for the reminder. Hehe.. Im currently running stable on 2.5-4-4-6. Which my superPI for 512kb is 17s and 1M is 41. Increase by 1s if compare with previous. Seems tighten the timing do increase the PI score but also make my system become unstable. Tonight will try will CL3 and see hows the result. Now at work place cannot try. Yea.. Tried with CL2 on my system and end up with system cannot boot up. I guess my ram was one of problem beside my cap palang UPS. Guess is time to change ram! Hehe.. Do HyperX does good job? Ya tight timing will gives better result. I tried on my RAM with CL2 also cannot boot up. CL3 is stable but the PI result might be little bit slower only.In gaming the different timing is not noticable. Hyper-X needs to depends on the chipset also.

QUOTE(rainingzero @ Jul 18 2007, 01:24 PM) erm..but also depends on the stepping he got. shawty must be very lucky able to have good stepping proc. anyway, wanna ask silly Q here. as all already know, i use intel board, so no ocing here.. my ram timings is 2.5-4-4-8. will it brings any diff if i change my rams to better one, let say the one with CL 2-2-2-5 maybe??? edit:typo I use Intel 865PERL mobo before, the tighten timing set is not going to affect the performance in apllications and gaming. QUOTE(fylon @ Jul 18 2007, 02:55 PM) LOL! Yup.. Im glad if my rigs can hit 3.6Ghz. I will stop at that speed. And get myself a better GC for gaming. Still far away from my get pay day! Im planning for 79GS atm. Then can play some games. Btw, some news here, pc hardware price is going up high now. Just got the new price list today! Hehe.. 7900GS,when is ur's toy going to reach ?

Using 2:3 with 250FSB,you RAM is just running on DDR375 only. The RAM cannot optimise the speed but your proc can go higher until 3.7GHz.I myself never tried for 3:2 ratio but i'm currently using 1:1 with 3-3-3-8 timing. My RAM got stuck at 230FSB with 1:1 on that timing.I guess your RAM is about the same with mine one,the kingston RAM.

TCCC RAM are only required low voltage to operate right ?Cool you have TCCC RAM on hand. And proc also not bad can hit 3.7GHz.

QUOTE(k!nex @ Jul 19 2007, 10:20 PM) if i were u,i'll go for higher Vcore like 1.6V.monitor temp while using orthos.if temp <60C,den OC higher.P4 throttles down at around 80C.if u use Hynix chip, alwiz aim for higher bandwidth.no point aim for good timing.i've lousy timing, but i can go high frequency.no need use those super expensive HyperX RAM.and one more thing,i noticed tht when ur RAMs get too hot, ur pc will hang,so i suggest stick to 2.8V as Vdimm.try get those RAM heatspreader and install urself.i bought 6.50bucks each only from ALL IT.i think raymond also using.got abit of difference:-D My RAM has the RAM heatspreader and it's in blur colour. The exterior looks exactly like Hyper-X but just that don't have any labels on it. I found out the RAM spreader is hot too when fully loading. I suspect this phenomena has limiting me from going higher speed with stable. QUOTE(rainingzero @ Jul 21 2007, 12:34 AM) bye2 soc478..last wednesday, my proc die.leaving me stunned and shock....hehe...anyway, still using lower end P4 3.0E @ 3.4 +stock cooling,LGA775, have to use this for a few month before migrate to c2d. anyway, will always lookind forward to this thread... So sudden you proc died...Not too bad using 3.0E on LGA 775.Your Intel mobo is going to be on sale ?

IF like that maybe later i will try to remove the RAM spreader to see how's the performance.Never tried before since i got the RAM from forummer. As my previous experience,my DDR333 RAM wasn't hot even it was on full loaded.

QUOTE(pengster @ Jul 21 2007, 03:38 PM) yeap what kabukiawie says is true and raymond,i dont think its a good idea to remove the heatspreader as it will rip off the labels on your ram thus voiding ur warranty best thing is to buy a ram cooler from AllnGap or smth and now my rams are running at DDR270 @ 2.65v and its hot to the touch. Itried to remove yesterday but it was too hard to do so. After i removed the clips then still have the doublesided tape inside. Finally i put the clips back.Maybe later i will try to get RAM cooler My RAM is running on 2.8v now.

QUOTE(KaVaS @ Jul 22 2007, 03:37 PM) ehm...can i juz simply change the value and try and c??will it spoil my pc??can u tell me wat value to put for ram timing latency,DRAM ration, voltage ,adn agp frequency? You can increase the FSB value 1 by 1 to observe your proc can support or not.Remember you proc and not recommended to go high speed as your psu is not true power series.

Of course the HT proc is faster than the non-HT proc.Secret behind is it divides the single core into virtual dual core which each core only will utilize about 50% of the processor time.So the left up another core can use to run another application behind. P4P800 Deluxe is a very good board for o/cing.Your vDimm is slightly higher than mine also.Mine max at 2.8v.Better o/c selection i thought all of them are in the bios mode there? The o/c result is depending on the setting in the bios.

6800XT has be becarefully with the memory bandwidth,i saw one person selling before in garage sales on his 6800XT only has 64bits memroy bandwidth, the better one is 128bits and the best one is 256bits of course. If not mistaken an 6800XT on 128bits is performing slightly better than the 6600GT only,so don't get the 64bits card else you might be regret.

QUOTE(fylon @ Aug 7 2007, 09:22 PM) Owh? For that, i not sure. I get this card just for display (well.. p4p800 dont have onboard vga) and some light gaming like maple. : For normal use i think should be no problem la. Edit: Just i know i can hit around 3.8k 3Dmark03 with this card and my rigs. There's no way for a 9550 extreme to beat 5900XT.I tried mine max only get 4.4k on 3D Mark03 with CPU speed at 3.66GHz with GC o/c speed.5900XT should get at least 5.5 to 6k+ depends on CPU setting.

QUOTE(fylon @ Aug 8 2007, 08:25 PM) Haha! No la.. Since AGP card ma. All S478 mobo was using it ma.. So ask awhile lo! Ooh? Mobo failure? Haha! I only get around 3.8k for 3dmark03 with default setting. OC it will get more higher lo. 5900XT and 9800XT which one better? Hm.. Try look around for atleast 2.4Ghz S478 procs. Is a good choice to get one with HT. Of course the 9800XT will be better than 5900XT. XT in ATI is the strongest one in the series.
