Wao smell someone is going to 4GHz from a 2GHz proc? Are you sure you can do it?2GHz to 2.8GHz is preety good already in my opinion. If you can go in to 4GHz then you are the overclocking king here already.2GHz o/c from stock.

Maybe you just plug in the 9600pro to try it out. As i know that many p4p800se users are using good gc like 9800pro, 6600gt, 7600GT etc without any problem. Even some are upgrading from 9600xt to 7600GT. i doubt that the 9600pro cant be use on that mobo. hmm......unsure.gif is 9600pro using extra power from psu?

@colinwong89
just enable the PAT. then restart your pc, check cpuz the performance mode at memory tag is enable or not. icon_rolleyes.gif
*
9600 is not going to use any extra power form the external.Internal power provided from AGP slot itself is already enough.

I thought enable the PAT everytime you enter the Windows. The program is set back to default every time the PC is restarted.

After toying around with Tweak865, I have PAT enabled, although partially from what CTIAW reported biggrin.gif

I gained an extra 100MB/s from Sisoft Sandra's Test, however I have yet to test for stability problems smile.gif

I found a few modded BIOSes, however they are only for the IC7 and other ABIT overclocker boards. sad.gif

Seems there's no one actually modding the latest BIOSes for our boards, all of them seems to have retired or something tongue.gif
*
IC7 modded bios ? drool.gif Any special thing on this ?You have IC7-G one ?

Altrix PSU is just providing about 50% power from its' total wattage. But those Altrix PSUs look nice as there is some LED fan inside.

by that time Vista most probably has matured enough for all of us to use it  laugh.gif 3 years down the road DX10 too will have gone mainstream.

and that means we have to get more capable comps  sad.gif

Of course Windows Vista will be mature enough and the Dx 10 will be mainstream on the road.By that time maybe there is 8600 AGP for us to survive with Dx10.

i have a pentium 4 2.66Ghz, would a 1650xt be a overkill? thumbup.gif

Your Pentium is without HT right? X1650XT can said still ok with it,just afraid sometimes CPU bottleneck a bit in some games.

Not saying the the 1650XT cannot use on your mobo, just that when running on high resolution the graphics might not be optimize as the proc is a bit slow.Maybe you can consider to o/c a bit on your processor. If using DDR2 on a P4 proc with 8800GTX still bottlenecks occured as the proc is not able to match with GPU is high resolution processing.
