shinjite, faster core and more RAM on your system should have a smoother experience than before.Anyway, you ES sample good in o/c or not? 3.43GHz i is the highest you can go ?

Nice to see ppl having ES proc. But if eg a 3GHz proc wants to acheive 3.5GHz i think it's preety easy.Just get a pair of good RAM sure you can do it.Meawhile, faster processing power does not differ in small applications but in gaming it will be having a lot of difference especially after o/c. FSP can increase a lot.

Agree,if comparing 2.4GHz with 3GHz.That's a lot of difference. You can totally feel that the system itself is smoother and faster a lot even you just having 512MB RAM with you.Faster clock more powerful in randering process.

If using 4GHz to to daily life work like excel, word, playing songs will be very fantastic.A 4GHz proc can easily handle them will just minor processing power.Meanwhile we can open up more apllications and play Carbon at the same time without feeling slow or lag.

5900 was a good card last time. Can said quite high end already last time. The most high end one was 5950 ultra with 450/850 on the card by default if i am not mistaken.

If you have a good system like 3.xxGHz and above proc, you will be able to drive the 5900 card(o/c speed) to 6500 points in 3D mark 03. Indeed got quite number of people was flashing the 5900XT to the 5950ultra also. I did this before to 5900 ultra and 5950 ultra.Actually is not much difference but just the core and memory will be set to higher speed in default after flashing both image. Actually no need to flash them also can drive the display card speed to those level.

KahLoon,go ahead if you want to change your card to 7600GT.I support you here.Your system still be able to drive the 7600GT well.Compare to irangan's case,he was using X1950 PRO with his 3.4GHz proc.

kabukiawie, see your rig can goes up to 3.33GHz.Very good overclcoking result man. This has boosted a lot of power in your system there.P4P800-X can o/c about 1GHz more that should be very good as the vDimm there max only providing 2.68V.
Kahloon, when are you going to get your 7600GS ? |

QUOTE(KahLooN @ Mar 25 2007, 11:43 PM) I agree with shinjite, the most important part is how well the GPU architecture been develop and we user make use of it. DDR2 and DDR3 just have difference on the bandwidth only. Higher speed of the RAM = more bandwidth. Getting more bandwidth on the video card can boost the gaming experience. To get DDR2 or DDR3 is depending on you already. For my opinion, the best is to get DDR3 for maximum gaming experience. @raymond5105 Im thinking either 7600GS or 7600GT, but prefer a card with DDR3. Some of the 7600GS has either DDR2 or DDR3. Not sure whether the 7600GS is better choice since the price different is around rm100 with both having DDR3. |

BOTAK_WAI,how come your system property there got stated overclock status = On and yet display the core code name also? Your Win XP is special version? I also got an antique which is also 1.7GHz but running on S423.
@rainingzero,the slowest P4 is 1.3GHz on S423. |

Higher IPC makes the CPU works fater even in low frequency speed. Now new CPU comes with 4 IPC like C2D.

BOTAK_WAI,i try your link to set the system property.Well it really works,i think those OEM dealer like HP and Dell also using the .ini file like that inside the system 32 file there.I think my S423 even older than your S478,i bought it during September, 2001.
@pengster,irangan's RAM is BT chipset right? You are also using same mobo with kabukiawie? |

KahLoon, why bother to get X850XT PE ?This card is an old architecture card and only support SM2.0 . 7600GT is way better than X850XT as it has SM3.0 . The X850XT card the same price with 7600GT ?

QUOTE(rainingzero @ Apr 1 2007, 11:49 AM) the x850xt much more faster than 7600gt. but in terms of graphics quality and eye candy, 7600gt beat crap out of x850xt.i do own x850xt agp before, quite satisfy actually, but lack of sm3.0 really becomes draw back of this card... Er..yaya after i search on the internet really found that the x850xt PE is slightly better than 7600GT,but i guess that the 7600GT is better than x850xt PE after both card o/ced. |

Yes if to compare the SM2.0,X850XT PE wins hand down. But come to SM3.0 definately 7600GT is the one. I strongly recommend you to get the 7600GT.Oh yeah the other shops in LYN there also don't have 7600GT ?

I just found on internet really there are 7900GS ,but this looks like the XFX has already face off its' 7900GS AGP.
http://vga.zol.com.cn/53/530686.html http://www.techpowerup.com/?27203 The second link also stated there are 7950GT coming up. This post has been edited by raymond5105: Apr 2 2007, 09:01 AM |
