Someone mentioned before it is not but my colleague says yes, I also don't know who is correct. sweat.gif
In the end, I stick to the less fancy UOBPayOnline.

In CIMB thread, it was mentioned as 'Retail' instead of 'Online'.

Yeah, I will prefer to stick to something which is confirmed rather than uncertainty and with the risk of losing CB and ending up spending more. sweat.gif

Not sure either.

Pay RM5 just to test it. You will know when statement comes. Then update us on the outcome. tongue.gif rclxms.gif

You wont be working in Malaysia, but you will still earn rebates on overseas spending right? As long as the MCC falls under the 3 categories you still can maximize the cashback. No need to cancel ma..

Have to take into consideration of exchange rate and also service charge.
If I were him, I might consider to terminate too.
*
yes, I understand this. but just like fruitie said, the conversion rate of cc/bank are very poor.
if i use the card ovesea, it will be charged to my card as MYR after conversion.
and i don't really spend much oversea to save money. maybe ill research more on the conversion rate/service fee etc before i cancel.
but mostly will cancel dy laugh.gif

but for us as 'foreigner' in other country, it might be harder to get credit card approval.
Don't cancel until you managed to get a better card from overseas.
*
yes. i agree this too.
but i have my backup cc which is no annual fee.

Upon reading your case i call up CS. My principal+supp AF were charged 2 wk back. Failed to get waiver for both. She confirm with supervisor no such waivers except for last year free AF for supp card promo.
Mission failed. Disappointed…

Oh....too sad to hear that sad.gif .....
could it be due to i have 2 HLB card (Wise and Essential) or i call in before they charged me the AF?
Not too sure about it.

cannot have different categories than principal

8. Is Supplementary Card' retail transactions accumulated into the total number of swipes to meet requirement of 10 retail swipes per month and are those transactions eligible for 10% cash back also?
Yes, all posted retail transactions on supplementary card will be taken into account as per principal card. However, cash back earned will be credited into the principal Cardholder account only.

Trace manually and check from HL Connect web.
I have an Excel sheet to track to ensure I have fulfilled 10 swipes and spent just enough RM 985. laugh.gif

Write down manually. It is tedious, painful, but to get the maximum cash back, I write down all the expenses daily on this card.

Allow me to share my experience with using HL Wise for overseas transaction recently in Bangkok. I have dining as one of my chosen category.

Merchant : THE FIFTH FOOD AVENUE BANGKOK TH
MCC : 5814
Amount in THB : 798
Transaction Date : 05 March 2016
Posting Date : 06 March 2016

Converted amount to MYR : 93.77
Based on this the exchange rate used by the bank would be 100THB = RM11.75. Before leaving Malaysia, I exchanged cash at money changer for 100THB = RM11.90 at USJ.

However there is a 2% Visa admin fee which brings the total charged to RM95.65. You will only get to see the total charged to your credit card in your statement. You would need to call up CS to get the converted amount to MYR before admin fee.

The 10% cash back is only for the converted amount and does not include the 2% admin charge. So the CB for the transaction would be RM9.38.

Overseas transaction posting are now also very fast as compared to a couple of years before when it took weeks.

Hope this information helps those who have questions about using HL Wise for overseas transaction. rclxms.gif

I not sure about your case, but for my case the cashback is give based on the total amount after convert shown in statement. I believe the total amount already include all the admin charges with is 2.x% most of the times for my case in Singapore.

Well, I always use this HLB card to swipe here. Even take in consideration of all the admin charge, annual fee,etc.. I still can get roughly 5-6% effective cashback. Still not a bad card consider the credit card in sg are not as attractive as malaysia. blush.gif
