Hi,

New to this airmiles game...

If i am going to convert my TP to kf/am, can i book for my spouse using airmiles?
*
Yes. Both KF/AM, you can add up to 5 persons in the redemption group.

QR business class is among the best, 70k Miles one way to Europe, but expensive YQ

TURKISH not bad as well, 92k miles one way to Europe, less expensive yq but also need 1k one way origin from kl
*
I just googled and found out that they are sending a QSuite-equipped A350 to KL starting 15 July. Ok no need to consider others already biggrin.gif

Redeem AM or EM better in this case?

I can search and look at availability on Cathay Pacific / AM websites, but MAS don't have ley

to give u the best experience, fly with Singapore airline new A380s first class to Tokyo, with transit at Singapore.

It will set u 140k miles return, with little airport charge, so u still short of 20k miles.

Singapore air also fly their old A380s and 777-300er first class to Tokyo and Seoul, these can be your second option.

With 120k miles, you can fly to any city of japan Korea and Taiwan return with business class with any airline.

Among the top pick is Eva air, sq, Ana and japan airline.

If your want to use your miles efficient, suggest sq spontaneous escape, but need to be flexible, u only have 2 to five Weeks to book and plan before you fly.

Definitely redeem AM instead of EM. For me I prefer AM over KF as well. Based on some research, it's easier to find award flights availability and the cost in miles is also a lot cheaper. You pay more in fuel surcharge but still worth it since miles also cost money. Singapore is also a short and cheap direct flight away. I much prefer to stayover in other home bases like Hong Kong or Japan so no advantage of KF there. And as mentioned, Qsuites from KUL soon haha.

I disagree, even if I have 100 million TP I would still convert to AM. But preference for others of course would vary. Some prefer SQ or *A partners I guess

Yes depend, but after experience all kind of product and swimming in miles, I will just prefer to pay less cash upfront.

In general sq product is good and avaibility not bad too

having flown the new SQ a380 J class, i have really mixed feelings about their seats... i like the 2018 J on A380 but the plane is uncomfortable AF.. Not sure why but it was bouncy as hell throughout my journey to zurich.

the A350 plane is super smooth and i do feel more refreshed compared with the A380. however, the seats is really crappy... seat is either lounge or flat bed.. nothing in between. if wake up need to call stewardess to change bed.. so mah fan. J class is comfortable only if you can secure bulkhead seats... i managed to get bulkhead for both flight and it was really comfy. I tried one of the intermediate seats and having to angle leg to sleep is a real no no.. cannot even lie down properly.

If only there's the 2018 J in A350 and all bulkhead seats...

Bouncy is due to weather condition....
A350 cabin is more advance than A380...
But I can’t really feel big diff, I do appratiate the quietness of a380

quietness i think a350 trumps it... my a380 flight engine noise was so loud. need to use earplugs to sleep.
could be also because i took the 2nd cabin on upper deck so any movement is multiplied...

your seating place vary the noisy level from engines, as well as bumpiness when go through turbulence

nose is quiet, body less bumpy.

generally, A380 tend to be more stable than A350
A380 is more quiet too
A350 is pressurized at lower altitude hence more comfortable, to sleep (i clocked my longest sleep for SIN-MUC, 9hrs straight)

and all hands legs agreed on the bulkhead seats!
