High graphics settings is very hard to guarantee with this specs because the 144Hz monitor has already taken a large sum of your budget, so I can only fit the lowest end i3 + GTX960 with the rest of the budget.

Intel Core i3 6098P - RM 432
Asus H110M-K - RM 273
Corsair 8GB DDR4 2133MHz Value RAM - RM 133
Asus GTX960 4GB GDDR5 Turbo - RM 946
WD Blue 1TB HDD - RM 215

Tecware Alpha - RM 189
BenQ XL2411Z - RM 1113

Total: RM 3489 (ETech price inclusive of GST)

hmm, what if I remove the 144hz monitor and replace it with an average/normal one ? can I upgrade the processor, graphic card and the other parts ?

If really want to keep below 3.5k, you can downgrade the CPU to i5 6400.

Nvidia Pascal and AMD Polaris are coming soon, if you can wait then please hold on on buying any current gen GPU.

Ok, if you can tolerate with low settings then you can save the money and use the iGPU that comes with the CPU to play those mentioned games, if cannot then you can go for a cheap GTX750Ti (~RM 500), but bear in mind the performance difference between iGPU (HD 530) and GTX750Ti is not not that significant only, GTX750Ti is around 30% faster (depend on games).

Intel Core i5 6500 - RM 815
Gigabyte B150M-D3H (D4) - RM 403
Corsair 8GB DDR4 2133MHz Value RAM - RM 133
Zotac GTX750Ti 2GB GDDR5 Single Fan - RM 489
WD Blue 1TB HDD - RM 215

Total: RM 2055 (ETech price inclusive of GST)

I heard that income tax rebate on PC purchase requires full set (including case & PSU), I am not 100% sure on this, but you can check this yourself, just an advice for you.

Rumors suggest that AMD is targeting mid end market, so I guess the price of Polaris should be around 1k - 1.8k if it is true, but it is just an estimation afterall.

About the tax rebate - I think monitor is also required laugh.gif

Yes, case and PSU is required.

Side note : 1070 coming soon biggrin.gif

Ok, thanks for the info, fuq that monitor psu and case, got those, and fuq the tax.

yeah 1070.. my relative told me about it, he very hyped about it. That guy works for Ubisoft in charge of lighting for TC: The Division

Thanks for the input, will get that build minus the GPU, will try to play ARK on minimal setting.

Have you tried HD530 if it can run ARK on minimal setting?

Thanks

Currently Nvidia only launched Pascal based GTX1080 and 1070, 1060/1080Ti to follow soon, most likely in Q4 if they follow the same release schedule last year.

GTX1070 is probably going to cost you at least 1.8k here, so AMD Polaris is the another hope now since AMD said they are going to focus on mainstream GPU instead of high end GPU, I guess they are targeting to release Polaris 10 card at "mainstream" price (1k - 1.5k).

Thanks in advance.

I would like to build a rig around the components below:

i7 6700k
GTX1070
16gb RAM
128gb SSD + 2tb HDD
2 Samsung 24" monitor

how much would it cost? (excluding mouse and keyboard), any tweak to the above is welcomed if there's cheaper components that are more worth (performance wise)

GTX1070 hasn't launched here yet so we still don't know what will be the price, but it is estimated to be at least 1.8k.

The raw components listed by you will cost you around 6k, not including mobo, PSU and casing yet.

You listed 6700K so I assume you gonna overclock, so adding a Z170 mobo + a decent PSU and casing, it would be around 7k+/-.

CPU = processor, only Xeon workstation grade CPU can reach 6k (or more), the 6k - 7k is for the whole rig.

Intel Core i7 6700K - RM 1426
Asus Z170 Pro Gaming - RM 735
Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (8GB x 2) DDR4 3000MHz RAM - RM 427
GTX1070 - RM 1800 (estimated price)
Kingston HyperX Fury 120GB SSD - RM 199
Seagate Barracuda 2TB HDD - RM 319
Seasonic M12II EVO 620W - RM 409
Corsair Hydro H100i V2 - RM 508
Tecware Alpha - RM 189
BenQ GW2470H (x 2) - RM 1058

Total: RM 7070 (Techview price inclusive of GST)

BenQ GW2470H is having a much thinner bezel which is more suitable for dual monitors setup.

If don't want overclock, then just take the non-K i7 (6700) + B150/H170 + 16GB value RAM, you can remove the aftermarket CPU cooler too, if want to save money then you can go for i5, usually i5 and i7 perform neck to neck in latest games unless the game you play is very CPU demanding.

If speed is a concern, you have to choose Seagate Barracuda.

In mainstream HDD war, it's basically WD Blue's 5400 RPM vs Seagate Barracuda's 7200 RPM with the later one being the clear winner.
