Kingston 8GB DDR4 2133MHz Value RAM - RM 196 Corsair 8GB D4 PC2133 VALUE - RM164

The "gaming" word is just a market gammick, it does nothing, just stick with the suggested mobo if you want to save money.

Add some money and you can get B150 chipset mobo already.

Ah ic. Any B150 to recommend and how much is the price?
*
MSI B150M Bazooka D4 or Gigabyte B150M-D3H.

If you don't use the feature offered by B150 chipset then no need to upgrade from H110 unless you want 4 RAM slots.

Thanks . but i think i prefer 4460 than 6400 .
*
Any reason to choose 4460 over the newer 6400? They are within same price range, Skylake build gives you slightly more performance.

Because i want to build haswell . after i google thr comparison between them , ya many review say 6400 give more performance . this my another question . between gtx 750ti and radeon r7 260x which one is better for playing dota2 ?
*
Both can easily max out Dota 2 in 1080p, so either one is fine.

HI currently I used my inspiron660s desktop as per standard spec.(1tb HD, 4gb Ram Intel core i3) I want to upgrade my rig so I can play games I.e PES , NFS, COD. Budget rm500. Appreciate your kind suggestion.
*
Can you check the PSU model?

Prebuilt desktop normally comes with OEM PSU which is not suitable for upgrade.

Do u mean to upgrade the Psu? I do not plan to upgrade the Psu only graphic card I want to upgrade. Is it ok?
*
I know you want to upgrade GPU only but you need to know if your current PSU can support dedicated GPU or not before buying the GPU, if cannot support, then you need to buy a new PSU to run the GPU.

Terence it is so good to have your prompt response.. How do I know the GPU is supported by the PSU?
*
Open the case, snap a picture of the PSU (the details of PSU), then post it here if you don't know how to identify whether it can support dedicated GPU or not, I will take a look and let you know which GPU is supported after this.

bro can the fsp hexa 550w support the 380?
*
Theoretically can, FSP Hexa+ 550W has 2 12V rails with 18A output from each rail which can provide max of 432W (36A x 12V), if you want to switch over to low end PSU, then try not to put heavy load on it.

With that new i5 skylake cpu and only 1 hdd with 2 case fans the 432w true power should be enough right for all the components.
*
That's why I said theoretically can, but it is a low end PSU after all, so don't stress it too much to reduce failure rate.

QUOTE(gundamsp01 @ Mar 13 2016, 10:23 PM)
hi, thanks for ur suggestion, do i need to add additional fan to thermaltake? as it stated it has optional fan slot
*
You can add more casing fans if you want, just have to make sure you are getting the correct size (120mm/140mm etc.).

For example, add 2 casing fans at front as intake.

may i know is there any different between i5 and i7 for my usage?
if doesn't, i prefer to have a cheaper option, what is ur opinion? thanks
*
Some rendering software and importing RAW images into PS will take advantage of the hyperthreading technology of i7 which reduce the time needed to finish the operation, changing to i5 will increase the time needed mostly, if you are ok with it then i5 is a great choice to save some money.

Hi, I need suggestion to upgrade my pc, currently using

Intel i3-2100
Gigabyte H67MA-USB3 B3
Asus r7 260x
Cooler Master Elite 550 ver 2
4gb ram ddr3
maxtor 160gb HDD
WD 1tb HDD
WD 2tb HDD

I am planning to upgrade the processor, motherboard and ram. But I am not sure how, for processor, currently considering amd fx 6350, A10 7850, i3 6100 or 15 6500. I dont have much requirement in gaming, as most of the time i enjoy RPG games, which doesn't requires high end graphic, but i do like smooth experience, my HDD takes 3 seconds to load every once in a while when i click in again, which I am not sure what the problems is.

So, every sifu please give me opinion on the upgrade of processor and motherboard, thank you
*
New Skylake CPU and mobo are recommended to run DDR4 RAM which means you gonna need to change RAM too if you were to choose Skylake platform which is a better choice than the aged AMD platform for now.

What's your budget?

If you go with non Z170 mobo, you cannot overclock the RAM and it will downclock itself to 2133MHz even though you have a 2666MHz RAM.

But jumping from 2133MHz to 2666MHz doesn't bring significant improvements (mostly benchmark only), > 3000MHz is more preferred if you really keen on high speed RAM.

QUOTE(Leon be here now @ Mar 14 2016, 12:42 AM)
noob question, is there some kind of  Y cable and plug those 2x 12V @ 18A rail into 1x output as parallel? so maybe it will become 12V @ 36A?

Seasonic M12II EVO 620W - RM 363
Seasonic S12II-620 620W  - RM 303
Are these basically the same PSU?
with RM60 difference?

the difference i can spot are below, dont think it gives much value added
Seems like the modula EVO version has:
http://www.lelong.com.my/seasonic-m12ii-62...6-12-Sale-P.htm
- modular
- Gold plated terminals

Seems like the non EVO, non modular version has:
http://www.lelong.com.my/seasonic-s12ii-62...6-12-Sale-P.htm
- non-modular cables
- super high efficiency upto 87%
- double forward converter design
- soft mount rubber cushions
- all in one cable design
- patent easy swap connectors
*
No need Y cable from external, the internal components of the PSU will take care of that.

They are basically the same, M comes with modular while S doesn't.

hi terence, thanks for your explanation.
if i change to i5, will it affect my gaming other than rendering?
if no, appreciate you can suggest a i5 series which is suitable for my usage. thanks!
*
Same theory as rendering, some games do use the extra threads to process the games which can improve the performance (frame rate etc.)

You can just change the i7 to i5 6500, other parts can remain the same.

So should i go for z170 board?
*
If you are getting Z170 just for the sake of overclocking the RAM (from 2133 to 2666), then it is not worth, performance gain is too little (bad price/performance ratio).

yes, I m planning to change CPU, mobo, ram and also the casing. My budget is around rm 1200 - 1500 for those 3 and a cooler master k282 casing, so i need a mobo that supports 2 usb 3 at front and total of 6 usb at back

I am not particularly tight on budget, so I might raise my budget if its worth the price and  i might add a SSD

Thank you

Oh let me get this straight if a PSU has 2x cable 12V @ 18A each
and i got a gpu that needs say 25A, i can just plug in a single cable of 12v and it will deliver 25A provided i dont use the 2nd cable at all.
*
The rails are connected inside the components, you just need to use PCI-E 6+2 cable and plug into your GPU and it will work magically.

I'm looking for atx motherboard.
*
The Gigabyte ATX mobo (Z170 & H170) you listed earlier is good enough for daily use.

If you are looking for so-called "performance" mobo, then it depends on how you define "performance", but they don't really provide any extra/significant "performance" to the system.
