If i add on gtx 750ti later, this psu can tahan or not ?

Should be fine if you only add a GTX750Ti, you can swap to FSP Hexa+ 400/450W or Corsair VS450 for more headroom though.

[Hardwares that will be re-use] Monitor, mouse, keyboard

[Monitor resolution] 1920x1080

You need to refine the definition of "max settings", this includes max AA (MSAA 8x), Nvidia GameWorks (if got) etc, this is very hard to guarantee even on high end GPU if the game is poorly optimized for PC hardware.

Intel Core i5 6500 - RM 815
Asus H110M-K - RM 273
Corsair 8GB DDR4 2133MHz Value RAM - RM 133
Sapphire R9 380 4GB GDDR5 Nitro - RM 955

Seasonic S12II 620W - RM 303
TP-LINK TL-WN881ND PCIe WiFi - RM 65
Corsair Carbide 88R - RM 226

Total: RM 2985 (ETech price inclusive of GST)

AMD Polaris GPU is coming soon, if you aren't in a rush then please wait for it instead.

QUOTE(cannavaro @ May 11 2016, 11:43 PM)
quick question for the sifus here..
most of the time it is a waste of money to buy performance rams if you don't intend to OC, right? I recall reading something along those lines many years back, not sure if it's still a valid statement ?
*
Yes most of the time, performance RAM is clocked higher than the base clock of the RAM module, if you aren't using a compatible mobo (Z series for example), then you won't be able to take advantage of the speed, everything will be downclocked to the base clock that the mobo can support (2133MHz for DDR4 for example).

If you are getting a DDR4 performance RAM with a clock speed of 2133MHz then you better off with 2133MHz Value RAM instead, the difference is negligible.

QUOTE(xKeneshirox @ May 12 2016, 01:22 AM)
I was reading a lot of reviews on the high failure rates of the Seagate Barracuda though? Is that still a problem?
*
That's for 3TB version early this year, 2TB should be fine, I haven't had any of my Seagate HDD failed on me though.

[B][Budget]
RM2500

Graphics work with AutoCAD, Adobe Photoshop, medium to heavy usage

[Personal preferences]
i7 core, good graphics card, if possible something more "up" than my current laptop Lenovo Flex 15 1st gen

Edit: location

Intel Core i7 6700 - RM 1273
Gigabyte H110M-DS2 (D4) - RM 249
Kingston 8GB DDR4 2133MHz Value RAM - RM 135

Seagate Barracuda 1TB HDD - RM 205
Corsair VS450 - RM 162

Total: RM 2642 (Techview price inclusive of GST)

I assume you only need a so-called "good graphics card" for your task (CUDA), either top up the rest of the money or downgrade to 4th gen (slightly cheaper).

smile.gif  smile.gif  thanks for your recommendation
just an additional noob question, since i will be using existing harddrive, do i need to reinstall the O.S. ?  sweat.gif
*
If you straight plug in the HDD to the new mobo, most of the time it will work, but driver update might be needed and your Windows activation will be revoked due to different S/N of the mobo.

If your Windows key is OEM based then you need to get a new key because OEM key is permanently tied to the first registered mobo (your old mobo in this case), if you are using a retail version of Windows, then just find your current retail key and insert the key into the system and you are good to go.

A HDD format is always recommended for new hardware installation especially with CPU and mobo upgrade.

Would he be needing a graphic card? Which would be better for graphic design?

i3 6100

or

Pentium G4400 + GT730 1gb DDR5?
Would the CM Elite power 350w be sufficient for the GT730?
*
Depends on the software, some do use the CUDA technology some don't, but it is more ideal to get a faster CPU instead of weak CPU + weak GPU.

The iGPU of i3 6100 (HD 530) is faster than GT730 anyway, not recommended to get GT730 just for the sake of the CUDA.

Can anyone suggest me an upgrade for this? Hope a system to handle triple A titles at low-mid settings at playable frame rate
Budget for upgrade is RM1000, lower is always better. Already have monitor, keyboard, HDD, and mouse.

Current PC as per below

Processor: Intel Core i3 2100
Mainboard: ECS H61H2-M3 V1.0 HERE
RAM: HyperX FURY Series 4GB DDR3 1333MHz
GPU: None
POWER LOGIC Magnum 230 HERE
POWER LOGIC Case  HERE
*
Kingston 8GB DDR3 1600MHz Value RAM - RM 135
Zotac GTX750Ti 2GB GDDR5 Single Fan - RM 489
FSP Hexa+ 450W - RM 166

Total: RM 789 (ETech price inclusive of GST)

Remove your current RAM if it has compability with the new RAM, 8GB should be enough generally.

Hello everyone. I would like a suggestion for a high-end desktop. This will be used for gaming as well as game development (UE4) (this requires a powerful CPU as well as huge amounts of RAM). I am aiming for GTX1080 so the purchase will be next month or whenever it becomes available locally (I am in no hurry for it). Please do provide me with a suggestion to complement the GTX1080.
*
Since no budget stated so I will just go with the highest spec.

Intel Core i7 6700 - RM 1254
Gigabyte H170-HD3 (D4) - RM 446
Corsair 16GB (8GB x 2) DDR4 2133MHz Value RAM - RM 266
GTX1080 - RM 3000 (Estimated)
Kingston HyperX Fury 240GB SSD - RM 305
WD Blue 1TB HDD - RM 215
Seasonic M12II EVO 620W - RM 363
Tecware Alpha - RM 189

Total: RM 6038 (ETech price inclusive of GST)

This is a non-OC build, to switch to OC build, you need to add at least 1k.

Monitor and other peripherals aren't included too, not sure if you need them or not.

I don't have a budget per-se although I do not want to go crazy with it. If anything I would change, I would drop the HDD as I have more than enough HDD right now and bump the RAM to 32GB (16GB is the minimum if you want to do some serious game development). Monitor and other peripherals aren't required as well.

As this is also a 'work' mahcine, no OC. Stability is highly required.

One more thing I would like to ask is, I know its not out yet, but what brand of GC you generally recommend?
*
It depends on your budget, if money/price is a concern then choose Zotac, usually Zotac is cheaper than the other big 4 (Asus, Gigabyte, MSI, EVGA) and they provide 5 years warranty as well.

If you are going for aesthetic purpose, then you might be interested in the upcoming non-reference card by the big 4 (Asus Strix, MSI Twin Forzr, Gigabyte Xtreme etc).

i think 350W is enought to power a GTX750ti or even the new low power GTX950 (not sure if available in malaysia)
why dont you spend extra RM40 get a better PSU, 100W extra
FSP Hexa+ 450W - RM 166

terence_nwb
can you confirm FSP Hexa+ series is generally better then CM Elite? capacitors etc....
*
CM Elite Power is also made by FSP, so the material choice so be around the same with low end series FSP PSU.

QUOTE(funkydude @ May 16 2016, 01:24 AM)
Hello sifus. Need a new PC mainly for Photoshop works.

Budget - Max RM1800
Purpose - Photoshop works and daily usage
Hardwares that will be re-use - None
Monitor resolution - 1080p
Games & softwares that use frequently - Photoshop and Illustrator. No gaming
Personal preferences - SSD is a must. Case must looks normal and not gaming look-ish. 8GB RAM
Location - KL

Actually, I did looked around myself and based from previous recommendations, I got this build.

Intel Core i3-6100 - RM 476
Asus H110M-K - RM 273
Corsair Value Select 8GB DDR4 2133MHz RAM - RM 128
Kingston HyperX Fury 120GB SSD - RM 195
Seagate Barracuda 1TB HDD - RM 213
Cooler Master Elite Power 350W - RM 126
Cooler Master Elite 343 - RM 129
BenQ GW2270 - RM 379
Logitech MK200 Combo - RM 63

= RM 1982 (Prices are from ETech lelong)

Please comment and advice what to downgrade as it went over budget. I'm not quite sure about the monitor. Is there any good cheaper alternative than the BenQ GW2270? I just chose that because I seen it being recommended a lot.

All replies are much appreciated. Thank you smile.gif
*
Downgrading to Haswell (4th gen) will save you some money, but dropping the SSD is more ideal for low budget PC, since you said SSD is a must then I guess you have to live with the over budget, the products listed in the build are almost the cheapest possible combination that you can build now.

If you don't care about monitor resolution and size, try to look for 15.6/17" 720/900p, should be around RM 300 only.

Intel Skylake provides more raw performance/power compared to the aged AMD Piledriver, are you sure you still want to stay with the dead AMD AM3+ platform?

If you really want to stay with AMD, I recommend you to wait for AMD Zen instead, the current one is not worth to invest anymore.

I saw Intel's price kinda high or perhaps you can suggest any Skylake quad core proc? I would be doing mild OC on it though.

No worries on the AMD cause I just list down the build now while waiting for the AMD Zen.
*
You get what you pay for, Intel might be a little bit expensive compared to AMD but the raw performance or out-of-box performance is way better than AMD currently.

You can go for i5 6500 + Z170 and a CPU cooler if stock cooler doesn't make the cut after mild OC, this is via BCLK OC, for multiplier (ratio) OC, you need 6600K/6700K.

Thank you for your suggestion bro !
I heard some news talking about new GPU more faster and more cheaper than current GPU < is that right ?  hmm.gif
*
Faster: Yes, if still the same performance then no point to release new generation, unless it is a rebadged GPU, but both Polaris and Pascal are new architecture so no worries on this.

Cheaper: Most likely nope, those announced prices are usually for US market only, when it reaches Malaysia, import tax/GST/distributor mark up will make the card to be way more expensive than the original announced price, we should be grateful if the price stays the same with current gen with some performance improvements biggrin.gif
