You cannot use Skylake Xeon CPU on H170 chipset mobo, you need C232 WS mobo for that.

As for RAM, no point getting > 2133MHz RAM when you aren't using Z170 mobo, speed will be limited to 2133MHz even if you get 2666MHz, can save some money here.

I don't know where you get the price from because your price is quite different from what I get from ETech's lelong account sweat.gif

Intel Core i7 6700 - RM 1284
Gigabyte H170-HD3 (D4) - RM 486
Corsair 16GB (8GB x 2) DDR4 2133MHz Value RAM - RM 324
Gigabyte GTX980Ti 6GB GDDR5 Xtreme Gaming - RM 3300
Kingston HyperX Fury 120GB SSD - RM 209
WD Blue 1TB HDD - RM 215
CM V650 - RM 498
NZXT Noctis 450 - RM 605
Acer Predator XB271HU-IPS - RM 3299
Corsair Strafe RGB - RM 582

Total: RM 10532 (ETech price inclusive of GST)

CPU cooler is optional since it is not an overclockable rig, you can spend money on it if you want, but don't spend RM 469 on Kraken X41, it is just a 1 x 120mm AIO liquid cooler which is not worth, top up a bit for Corsair Hydro H100i for 2 x 120mm instead.

Wow, why he never mentioned any of this before? Im glad u are here thumbsup.gif As for the price, i pm them personally. So, which mobo would u recommend for my preferred spec? And any specific reason for why u pick gigabyte 980 ti over zotac`s? Afaik, zotac`s 980 ti is the fastest single gpu.

If you want to keep using the Xeon, there are only few options you can make, Gigabyte X150-Plus, ASRock E3V5 etc.

Gigabyte X150-Plus is the cheapest C232 chipset you can get from ETech now, but you are warned Xeon E3 doesn't have iGPU which means if your GPU is faulty, you need a replacement GPU for display output, last time many people went for Xeon during Haswell era because the price of getting a Xeon (4C8T) CPU + mobo combo is cheaper than getting an i7 since it can be used on lower end chipset mobo, but since the situation has changed in Skylake, Xeon build isn't worth to get anymore, i7 + B150/H170 is more budget friendly now.

There are many GTX980Ti out there, the reason why I picked Gigabyte is because of its price and the clock speed, why people say Zotac Extreme is the fastest GTX980Ti out there? It is because of the factory overclocked speed is the highest among all the GTX980Ti out there, Gigabyte Xtreme's factory clocked speed is 1342MHz vs Zotac's 1355MHz, it is just 13MHz difference but you have to pay nearly RM 300 more for it (bad good price/performance ratio), you can manually overclock it to match what other cards are offering by using MSI Afterburner software, Zotac products come with 5 years of warranty though.

If you cannot accept over budget (+RM 76), then downgrade to a cheaper monitor or GPU (GTX950/R7 370), but I recommend you to top up a bit for this build instead, should be able to last you quite a long time since you are a light gamer as you said.

You can consider Samsung 850 EVO 250GB, Kingston HyperX Fury 240GB, Corsair Force LE 240GB etc.

Performance difference is not huge between them, any SSD in the market is fast enough for normal consumers to feel the difference if they are coming from HDD, so either one is fine, Kingston and Corsair one are much cheaper (they are below RM 400, perfect for money saving).

If you own a K series CPU and are going to overclock it, then yes it is recommended to get aftermarket CPU cooler.

For non-overclockable rig, stock cooler runs just fine, you still can get a decent 3rd party CPU cooler to further improve the heat dissipation rate and have slightly reduced noise level.

RM 600 can get you a BenQ GW2470 or top up a bit for AOC i2369VM IPS or Dell S2316H IPS.

in addition from what terence already replied, starting from skylake k-series intel doesnt bundle it with stock cooler anymore like previous gen so its gonna be mandatory.
