Hey, for those who've been to Japan, do all stores offer tax rebate for tourists? As in no need to pay their JP tax when buying figures and merch etc etc? Sorry for noob question  blush.gif

hey guys, newbie here.

would like to ask if buy figure from amiami.com, usually how much they charge for shipping cost ?

the figure is about 24 cm (H) and 0.5 KG weight
*
Which figure specifically?
The figure's weight is actually irrelevant, it depends on overall size of the figure box

Looks like u guys predicting are true at all. Somebody already grab my parcel (Saber Haregi figure) and probably take it as his/her collection.

Its lost from radar at Pos Malaysia Bintulu branch & undetected anymore. WOW.  doh.gif
What should I do? Should I lodge report to MCMC and claim the refund for my parcel lost?
*
Aih, so Sarawak, or Bintulu specifically, has issues with missing parcels eh? rclxub.gif rclxub.gif rclxub.gif
It happened to me once in Butterworth, also EMS, but it was amiami (not underdeclared) so what i did was getting amiami to help me to file a complaint via Japan Post (pos malaysia gave me a shit attitude so i asked for amiami's help). Japan post handled everything including my insurance claim. I got a full refund several months later, including postage fee.

EMS insurance covers up to 20,000yen
Registered SAL up to 6000yen only

Amiami doesn't underdeclare, but i can tell you, their customer service is excellent. 5 stars. That is still why i still go back to them for certain figure orders.

Regarding shipping fee in amiami, I asked for the figure box size because small boxes are actually very cheap to ship via amiami. if the figure is 24cm tall, that means the figure box is likely to be 28-30cm long, and the carton box at 30+cm long. That means it will likely fall between the 2700+/-yen range for EMS, 1800-2100yen range for registered SAL Parcel. Air small packet not available.
Now it boils down to the type of base and any accessories. Extra parts means bigger box and will drive up the postage to abut 3300yen from 2700yen. Since he said the figure is 0.5kg i suspect there's nothing much in the box, making the figure possibly fall in 2700yen range, or even lesser.

Figures with very small or thin boxes (usually sitting pose, or very simple pose), like Alter's yasuhara ema, Nishikino maki swimsuit, only costs between 1600-1900yen in EMS.
My Max Factory Ikumi Mito is 23cm tall, with extra parts, yet she cost only 2100yen EMS. So sometimes it depends how the figure company packages it.
Alter Kasugano Sora - 1/7 scale, 27cm tall including chair and base - chair is an accessory. Her EMS was 3300yen.

In Nipponyasan all EMS postages start at 2700yen regardless of size, making NY a bad choice to order figures that are small or cheap. They are the site to go for, for expensive or ecchi figures because the underdeclaring can help a lot. Worth paying the shipping fee to evade tax.

Yeap Skytube is very good. Though for the figure, I suggest you get this instead : http://www.amiami.com/top/detail/detail?gcode=FIGURE-029156
Unless you want the extra that comes with Amiami exclusive

yeah, skytube's my "go to" manufacturer since they're kinda like tony's production house (they translate tonnes of his artwork into figures). incidentally, i just got a skytube from amiami. an old release, but she's an awesome figure i just had to have in my collection.

although she's different from the other fairy girls, i think this figure is really nice. her kneeling pose also adds some variation to my fairy collection. got her a couple of weeks back but only just had the time to take her out of her box. the use of colours on this figure is really good, as is expected of kotobukiya. that fairy collection sure is growing...

Hello all, just a quick question but aren't we supposed to sign for RSAL packages in order to receive them?
Yesterday I received one RSAL parcel "thrown" into my porch just like that shocking.gif

Most big toy/figure stores they do offer tax rebate if the total amount is more than 5000 yen.

I went to Osaka Den-Den Town last year.

Same answer as last poster said, just show the cashier your passport upon payment. Then the cashier will 'stapler' the receipt onto your passport. Make sure don't pull out the receipt before exit immigration part on return flight. There will be a counter to take out the receipts inside passport after immigration (at HND, not sure about other airports).

Also went there about 3 weeks ago. didn't bought any figures but bought LE of Koe no Katachi (A Sillent Voice) BD & some albums/PSV games instead...

Man you're really committed to your craft.

I can't even bear to spend above RM 400 for a figure these days.
