wah u havnt buy the speaker yet? my suggestion E2100 MK2 better than M1310... btw E2100 Mk2... i think just see on the box, if the woofer if 5". i see alot of MK2 just notice it when lookin on the box

R501MK2 have tweeter. that's why its called MARK2. if you want to see, open the grill and check the tweeter... the first batch of R501 do not have tweeter in the satellites.

E2100 using 4" subwoofer, E2100 MK2 using 5" subwoofer
R501 using 3.5"midrange, R501MK2 using 3"midrange + 1"tweeter
thats why the size is the same, if you don't open the grill, very hard to find out.
You might check the box, if its written have 1" PV tweeter on it means it R501MK2...

M2300 subwoofer is the same with M3300 so the bass will be 99% same...
while M2300 satellites are "slightly" better than E2100 but having same design.

IMO, better get a M3300 if you're near 200 (if E2100 was 150). it's up to your choice, better state a exact budget and ~~ think of a speaker of that price... M3300 satellites produce SHARPer and CLEARer sounds compared to M2300. However if E2100 is 120, i think its still non-comparable to M2300. I personally like the design of E2100 but don't like its sounds (quick audition in a store).

RM150 : E2100, R401 (if got stock) and X600...
M2300 more than 150 right? but i dont recomend M1310 if you could get a R401 cos i believe its better than M1310...

however u may ask how much E3100 now. as if E2100 is 120, maybe E3100 140?? haha E3100 sounds good too

agree. go for it if M2300 is 150... wah e3100 still 175?
(suggestion if you happen to be able to buy silver version, buy it, i always like edifier silver/white product apart from the usual black one) M2300 is bass reflex while E3100 and E2100 and M1310 is bandpass. i happen to like bass-reflex nowadays...
(cause of low-freq songs)

i 99% sure its MK2. but how come tweeter so big 2"? later so sharp liao the sound... yah the R501 have 3.5"midrange, that one 3" means MKII again...

@ne3ro. its different in type of enclosure. okay so we're talking about edifier not about those RM1K+ speakers. basically, single bandpass subwoofer produce greater bass at midbass freq so its good for SPL. but its very bad for low frequency like those for movies. thats y E3100 is not suitable for blasting cause of this purpose... it produce great bass, but when it comes to lower freq, you;ll notice so called early distortion. once again this one is for quick comparison only, dont use ths statement on those expensive speakers cause those expensive one really2 different...~~ haha

it'd be nice if you could get a S2.1D 2nd good cond. in M3300 price...

btw yesterday i saw this unit, Philips MCM240. Darn it looks similar to my M3300... miss my M3300 liao...

exactly... its so similar even when i saw Z5500 i thought its the MK2...
there the pic of S5.1MK2.. you might just be patient for a while...

Hi all, i need recommendation here...
im now back to my hometown so using M3300...
so impressed with it at its price, and i want to get another speaker which have equivalent quality of it or slightly better...
(cause the M3300 for the desktop, cant be replaced)

so i'm eyeing something like S2.1D. the problem is i only found one shop that sell it. they sell it at 180SGD roughly... (about 400RM)

my question: is it better i get that one, or should i wait for S2.1M or M4300? currently im holidaying so still got time to think...
im kinda boring with my MP300 sounds, so want to get an unportable speaker for my laptop.. but confuse between to buy S2.1D or not.

even in the whole E series E3100 was the only one having best review about SQ and treble volume controller. i agree with you...

i think my Edifier M3300 oso like that.
but i don really care cause the sound produced is really soft, like people whisper.
though i already use AVR to completely remove the hiss...

S2.1M definitely better than M3400 in most cases...
it's because S2.1M is in the S level, highest level of Edifier speakers.

and also, S2.1M have newer and better driver on it.
that's why the prices is higher, about twice of M3400...

Unfortunately, i have not audition it before.
hence. the best is to ask S2.1M user here...

S2.1M will win in term of bass
S2.1D wil win in terms of spec and clarity.

overall, Mr Edifier said S2.1M slightly better (previous posts)
but since audio is very subjective, we don't know yet...

hi everyone, just went to singapore comex expo and went to edifier booth.
C1, C2, M33/4/500, M3310, M2300, E1/2/3100/ E3300/50 all MP were present.
incl the old school R401, DA5k and S2000V.

i don't buy any cause i told salesman that i want speaker that sounds better than my M3300 but not so hi price (2.1). he told me frankly speaking there isn't any except beyond 2.1 that is M3500, DA5k and S2kV.
wow S2kV beside DA5k,, no match already in song listening...
but DA5k bass is so loosen, gr8 for movie...

i wonder how S2K would sounds...
btw S2kV is 350SGD, is it worth buy?
