sadly i was in some unscheduled problem, so had to forgo the last exam band, will be registering for the coming exam band Nov07

phonetics is only good when u are in audio ... but in text mode, it sucks ... haha


start by reading some online articles, then start by getting to know some ham fellas, or anyone la, some out yumcha with them, all are very friendly i can tell u .. u can PM me too heheh


i have got a rig for 2 years or so ... started with an Icom v82 ... i never knew of those stuff until i came and met them ham members, evrtything in the ham world is like very blur as nothing is really stated, until u get a set/rig listen to it, then come out and TT with this ham members and only then will u know how it works and runs ...


u use it with discretion la ... dont la go show off, hold it here and there ... just monitor when u are alone, listen to them, sometimes phone numbers are given out on air, u can take them, and maybe sms or call them to get more info like when they go TT or meet ups ..

actually police can stop or question u only when they suspect that you are misusing the set, like tonto or robery or snooping on other freq ...
but if that not the case, they cant stop you, even police's freq and band are licensed by MCMC

i have been stopped couple of times, just shut it down or lower the volume la, dont la when the police bends down the rig still on ... that will piss him off and he will stop u and inspect you ... haha

when we go TT we weven sit beside police and all, though our antenna more "canggih" la ... haha they just smile and continue eating ... we even used a mini mag mount on out mamak table ... imagine his face when sees us raising the 1.5m telescopic ... hahaha

heh..same here never heard ur callsign on air osso...usually i'll be in daytime coz i'm working at nite...maybe we can meet on air..heh..FYI i'm using ic v8 handy (mobile) & ic 2200h (base)...looking forward to get a dual bander but most probably next year lah but if i can get through the RAE maybe this year osso i will get 1 heh...

i am using a slimjim bought from thai ... not those home brew ones, looks nice bout 1.5 meter ... so far my simplex from my home in pandan indah, can reach kajang, selayang at 5w ... and shah alam with 25w ... dunno why but my area is surrounded by lots of building ...

pkw is the "rumah lama" la ... club is called TTCC, and our callsign starts with PKW1 or PKW2, that was like a year or so ago la ...

get cheap handie first ... something like spender or those cheaper TK508, those are very good too ...

i got a VX170, offer me ... hehe

yo bro dont worry so much bout the exam,u need to find a good teacher to teach you regarding the SOP and technical basically if you read the Guideline from MCMC should be find trust me and if you good at technical its even better,

im using yaesu FT7800R and icom V85 and currenly transmit to astra with 4 9 a little bit difficult due to my location seround with mountain, so far i can simplex from my house to sg besi with 5 watt only singnal around 2 - 1 sometimes the audio, currenly didnt setup my base yet, using slimjim and strap it to bamboo..hahaha.. no pole yet still looking for a good place to put the pole,

anyway to those ppl still didnt send the RAE form still can send it before this sat on 29/sept/2007 and good luck and fyi information 6 people pass for CW test.. and congrats to them..

eh so its legal to put the number on your car?? i saw alot cars have their codes

why is it not legal, its just a sticker, and its common practice to have your "callsign" on your vehicle ...

u got to have a budget like what kingz has mentioned ... i would actually suggest you to a new one, as the condition of the previous owner is unknown ...
